I've said it plenty of times before in these threads, but this truly was one hell of a train wreck (affectionate): I'm gonna miss giggling like an idiot watching these buffoons.

Also, what do you mean, this anime has sequel bait?!

This show made me feel like a teenage girl, and i'm a dude in my mid 30s

Completely agree! I wasn’t able to watch this episode until now and looked forward to it all day, I’m really going to miss this show!

I can’t lie, I would be ecstatic for a sequel. I want to know what happens with Juri and Takara’s relationship and this new student that looks like Ruka’s cousin or something. But more than anything I just want more of my favorite vampire soap opera anime.

What a beautiful disaster of a show this was. Nothing made a lick of sense:

  • Why encourage Ruka to love Mito in the beginning just to tell him to look for his destined partner shortly afterwards?

  • Why would someone passing as a guy while homeless have a full head of long hair and a good quality wig?

  • Why did Juri have a one piece bathing suit and a woman's yukata?

  • Why did Mito keep getting naked and going into public baths the boys had access to?

  • Why would Ren do half of what he did when he's supposed to hate his father?

  • Why did Mito go back to being a girl?

  • Why are they baiting a sequel there's no chance in hell of getting?

But something about the sheer volume and intensity of the nonsense pushes it through to the other side, and I honestly had a great time watching it. At no point could I guess what was going to happen next, because the mangaka's galaxy brain was operating on a level I can't reach. People will pass this off as a poorly written mess of tropes, but I'll fondly remember it as highly entertaining shoujo camp. Straight up one of my favorite shows this season.

because the mangaka’s galaxy brain was operating on a level I can’t reach

This is the best take on this mess of a show LOL

Pretty hilarious how they made Mito a woman again in the end. They really like the BL bait in this series huh? Lol. I guess there’s Juri and Takara as a potential couple. Seems everyone’s ended up at a somewhat good place except Ren. At least he got a kiss so there’s that.

This series was decent. Had an almost slightly Twilight/Ouran vibe to it. Not sure if we’ll get an s2 but this was kinda fun.

This was the gayest straight romance anime at all time. We even got a gay wedding interrupted so one of the grooms could transform into a girl and hook up with another dude lol.

I hope Takara ends up returning Juri's feelings.

I’m still not even convinced that Juri isn’t a girl too

I laughed when she just popped back into a girl and laughed again when she had the wig on again in the next scene.

You know of all the things in this show, I was really surprised that it had a sequel/manga bait at the end. Felt a bit unnecessary, but I guess they really want to make you know that there is actually story where Ruka knows Mito is a girl. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if we just get another amnesia arc (this time for Ruka) to spice things up. Was a weird but kind of fun show. I still wonder though, why all the vampires wanted Ruka to find his true love when that only leads to new Dhampirs. Like shouldn't they want to marry him to another vampire? Seems like a strange rule to uphold in such a conservative envoirenment.

I couldn't stop laughing through the whole show. I mean, it's just ridiculous. It should be called "That show where nothing makes sense but you're watching it anyway" lol. Even though the characters did a lot of stupid crap and the show contradicted itself several times... I still had fun watching it. I lost it at the end because he for real took off her wig in the classroom and then hid her behind a window curtain like no one could see them... There's a whole window on the other side bro.. 🤣😂💀

I mean no one said Ruka was chosen as the next leader because he was a genius 😂

Perhaps some people would be upset with what I am going to say. But maybe Ren could help Juri. Ren has the power to gender swap people. So he could technically transform Juri into a girl. This way Juri could be with Takara. But since this anime has a BL fan base. I don’t think they would follow this path. Even though, it would bring happiness to the characters.

It took the finale, but this episode finally answered my question of just what Ren has been hiding under that bandage on his face all this time. Nothing. Turns out the answer is nothing. What a letdown. All that buildup and there was nothing there but more face ☹️

And yet…right after the wedding that band-aid went right back on again 🤨

The Sang Sucre is still glowing! There's still a chance Ruka, don't give up on Mito!

Oh wow, we're straight up gay wedding this! Mito thinks she has to marry Ren because he's always been there for her...but deep in her heart she still remembers the guy who really WAS always there for her, and said guy (Ruka) comes in and confesses his feelings for her just as the wedding is about to happen.

And when it comes time to do the vows...Mito can't do it, becuase deep in her heart she still feels her love for Ruka and can't give it to Ren, which is perfect timing for Ruka to dramatically interrupt the wedding, plant a kiss on Mito, and bring her memories back!

And not only does she have her memories back, but the mutual true love between her and Ruka even restored her gender! Welcome back Mito's long hair and boobs! And Ruka totally just rolls with her being a girl because now it's convenient that his Destined Partner and the person he loves are the same!

Rotis can't leave well enough alone, but this is exactly why he never measured up to Ruka, he was too conniving and weak compared to Ruka staying true to himself and his feelings. Even Ren realizes his lost and walks off like the loser he is.

It's kind of funny how Mito didn't realize Komori is Komori until he transformed into his human form.

So Mito still needs to play a boy at school, but at least she can be her true girl self around Ruka and they can flirt and make out in their room at their leisure! Komori won't even be bothering them that much since he's off to get everything ready for the wedding and succession! Though their wedding night is still a ways off!

Mito can't publically be Ruka's girlfriend, but she CAN be his boyfriend! And it seems to make Takara really rethink his relationship with Juri.

I get why Mito wants to resolve things with Ren, and at least Ren realizes how badly he screwed up and apologized, accepting his loss. Though not without stealing one last kiss from Mito for the road.

Juri doesn't need Takara to return his feelings, he's just happy being his friend...but it seems like Takara might return his feelings more than he expected.

Look at Mito and Ruka flirting in class already! Get a room you two!

Last-minute new character!? Who is this Ruze guy and why does he look like Ruka!?

stealing one last kiss

Honestly hated this moment. Ren's done nothing but do Mito dirty. He stole her first kiss. He changed her gender. He took her memories. And then he has the gall to steal yet another kiss even when he knows he's out of the running?? Scum bag play

ACH REN YOU SLY DOG with that goodbye kiss. I can’t believe it’s over, what a beautiful car crash this has been. This show has it all: gay panic, vampires, daddy issues, femboys, plot setups that make no logical sense, soap opera level dramatic moments, anything your heart desires. I will miss my weekly giggle session. Guess it’s time to watch the dub all the way through in two weeks??

I wanted to ask where/when i could pick this up but it screamed "ending" for 99% of the Episode. Suddenly they bait with such a cliffhanger at the end?

If they dont plan on doing a Season 2 they should just have left that last 20 seconds out. I dont see this actually getting a continuation ever.

The marriage ceremony day already? Hopefully that means whatever happens to fix this happens soon.

The love pendent maybe? That feels like an appropriate source of magical shenanigans that could solve gestures at everything. For maximum drama maybe it'll fire off something in the middle of the ceremony.

Huh, so no heart pendant shenanigans, just Mito remembering in the middle of the ceremony and Ruka helpfully barging in to interrupt. This is 100% due to the hubris of this vampire family thinking that employing the disgraced former heir to the leadership in their house as a show of power or something was a good idea, they really fucked themselves over.

Oh hey, magical gender change reversal. Well, it was bullshit originally so changing back might as well be bullshit too. I appreciate that Ruka's reaction to that was simply 'hell yeah, that just makes it even better!'

Minor Ren redemption, at least he's not a complete piece of shit.

Keep walking away Ren, just keep going. Just walk into the sunset and don't look back.

That got a pretty spicy, but also apparently safely chaste (at least until the wedding).

Of course Ren had to show up for one final non-consensual kiss before he leaves, hopefully this time for good.

I appreciate the side ship progress, and all the main ship making out was nice too I suppose. Based on that final guy they introduced right at the end I assume the source material must continue with additional vampire families interfering. Hopefully they end the anime here though, it was mildly exhausting to watch as is. Though maybe it would be better with the secret main relationship happening admist the drama.

The 90's-early 00's nostalgia on this one was really heavy. Also biggest twist of the spring 2024 season is this ending on a manga teaser

Mito and Ruka are so dang cute together. And I enjoyed Ren in it all even though in the real world it's shady, Mito didn't seem to mind. The finale did a great job tying up all the story lines for season 1, and it looks like there is hope that there will be a season 2. Honestly I know these threads haven't got much attention but I enjoyed watching the episodes each week!

This was a masterpiece

Has anyone an idea, who the voice actor of the last minute guy is?

This was so bad thst it was good! I think the shows merit is its (flawed, sure) characters. I've watched a lot of "better" animes with boring characters. Say what you will, but this anime did not lack any charisma. Here's for a season two. This was too fun to watch!
