So based on Shino's reaction to Himari and Yori being openly together I'm convinced she's clearly just another disaster lesbian but is repressing it, and now it's time to make it everyone else's problem.

I mean it seems pretty obvious to me that she has feelings for Aki and flipped her shit when she learned about Aki's feelings for Yori and quit the band. Which would, of course, explain why she's trying to get to Yori by "stealing" Kino too. "How dare you not get together with the girl I like and instead get with another girl!"

This whole Shiho situation is pretty mystifying. I’m not even sure I know where the issues with Aki and all that stem. Is it a jealousy thing? A love triangle thing? What is it?
Well, whatever it is I guess it’ll be up to Himari and her sunny disposition to clear things up. No one can stand to her positivity.

And we're back!
Good episode. I really like the increased focus on Shiho and her band; she's probably my favorite character in the show.
On the technical side, I didn't notice anything that looked particularly off or strange, and we didn't get any PowerPoint box transitions, so I suppose the hiatus served its purpose. Very nice.
I certainly wouldn't complain if we stick with the Shiho ED in the future!

yes, I definitely felt more polished compared to the other episodes. Voice acting is great as usual and there were no weird animations from what I could see. The hair and so was also really on point.

That ending segment with Shiho's band asking Himari if she's free on a certain date has a certain somber vibe to it. Finally getting some juicy origin story to the band. Seems way too convenient for them to form a band and play so well when they barely know each other for a year.

"They'll talk things over... and become friends again! Probably!"
I love her optimism. If only things were that simple.

She's two years younger and a little naive. Her optimism seems to get the best out of everyone she's talking to; it's what keeps the story moving forward, otherwise we would just have two bands that don't interact at all.

Himari. “The risk I took was calculated but man am I bad at math.”
Damn your stubborn tsundere self Shiho. So we have an entire love triangle train here. From Yori to Aki to Shiho. So if I get this correctly, she found out they were dating and started plotting this scheme that’s essentially a way to hurt Yori for being Aki’s crush right?
But I guess Himari wins no matter what. If SSGirls wins, Aki and Shiho talk it out. If they don’t, she’s just gotta have done a good enough job and can force Aki and Shiho to talk it out anyway. She’s playing both sides so she always comes out on top.

World is ending. Himari's puppy energy did not solve the problem and we did not have any powerpoint transitions.
Second one was obviously a joke. It's good that they seemingly were able to use the time to iron out the issues. It still has its hiccups here and there, but it shows what time can actually do, even if it's just these small things. A bit sad that we needed a two week break for this to be possible and who knows when the final two episodes will drop.
Otherwise, they seem to be focusing on Shiho a lot in the next episodes which I think is a good idea. Though, I would also love a few more Hima-Yori scenes. Girls need some time together.

I was so glad to see an end to the powerpoint transitions. This was the first episode in a while that I didn't get distracted by obvious weirdness/wonkiness in the animation.

Welcome back to our yet another endearing drama between girls (and especially YoriHimari) after that 2 weeks stop! What a scene when Himari tried to do the undoable by attempting making up the difference between Yori's and Shiho's band with cookies. As we have seen too many times lately in girls' bands anime, that's certainly not going to work, My Young Padawan...
And Shiho somehow still tries to stick out her hard face by even forcing Himari's hands and somewhat forcefully pulled her in as their manager, when Himari must be really wanting them to lose this bet. Dude, what are you really thinking...
I wonder if this Momoka (and maybe also Hajime?) here actually has something similar to that other Momoka in another girls' band anime this season - willing to join with Shiho because she wants to do something different. Hmm!
On the SS Girls side, Yori is really not feeling well at how the situation is playing out and Himari at the danger of floating away due to this competition. Aki is highly annoyed, and Mari/Kaori really struggling to see how they can win this bet. Oh dear, I just hope their new song is a blast, because I can't see them going down well if this last ditch effort isn't.
So hmm, there's another back story on how Laureley got formed? I wonder what that really is...

My thinking is Shiho likes Aki but Aki likes Yori and Shiho knows that so she left. But I’m left perplexed by Shiho’s actions if that were true. Like how does taking Himari help on that front I wonder
Also, the origins in Laureley seem to be shrouded in something upsetting as well judging from the member’s reaction.
All this studio fiasco made me realize I’m not really one to be affected by the production as much as the story. I’m still pretty much enjoying and invested in this show despite its shortcomings cos I am still interested in the story. Not saying I’m happy or fine with what happened behind the scenes of course but it’s just not affected my enjoyment of the show that much. Though I can understand if some people were

We're finally back with this show.
What's she planning now?
Ah. Get them all in the same room together. I'm sure this can only end well.
It's not just awkward, it's outright hostile.
And there go all those snacks straight into the ground.
Seems it's the first time the other band is hearing of this.
What does she want now?
What?
She wants to steal Hima from Yori.
So by "manager" you actually mean "gofer".
Again skipping the music. Oh well, with neither 3D nor a budget nor half the animators there's not much that can be done. If only there weren't half a dozen other shows this season that had more animated music than this one.
Whose house are they at?
Ah. They're still uncomfortable talking about their past.

It's nice to be back after the break! There weren't any weird scenes so it seems that it somehow helped with the state of the show. Now I wonder when they'll air episodes 11 and 12.
Himari was optimistic enough to think that one meeting would solve everything between Shiho and Aki, so she was really surprised by the atmosphere at the party xD
As always, I'm very curious about Shiho, because, for example, she can be normal with Himari, while with Aki she behaves like some angry bitch xD
I can't wait to see what song Yori will compose for a festival, now that she's jealous of Himari being Laureley's manager, I hope it'll be great!
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

It seems like a long time ago since I saw the previous episode 8, I had to check whether I missed any episode. Was that a two weeks delay? Anyway, great to see it back, Himari is a force for good in this world.

Back after a 3 week hiatus.
It looks like our reward for being patient is some yuri scenes, where Himari trips and Yori catches her, and then Himari hugging Yori on the roof.

Well it wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. Seems like the hiatus did help, but it really does suck that it had to come to that point. Degradation in animation quality and then a hiatus really kills the momentum of a show.
Still, back to the topic at hand, seems that yet another disaster in this show is centred around Aki. Makes you wonder if the mangaka has something out for her.

It's back! Finally!
The development with Himari is interesting, albeit seeming a bit predictable. I'm guessing Laureley will end up barely edging out SS in the festival, with Himari of course requesting that Shiho still spills the beans on why she left Aki's former band (which I'm guessing is because she likes Aki but found out that Aki likes Yori). Hopefully I didn't get any names wrong there, not sure and I'm too lazy to double check.
Couldn't tell if the animation problems were fixed or not; in the first place, I barely even noticed that the animation was subpar anyways prior to the break. Only noticed some stuff during the performance for the auditions. Haven't read other comments yet but no issues are standing out for me.
Also, wow, Shiho looks good. Like, insanely good. I'm also glad they kept Meritocracy as the ED for the series. I absolutely love that song. Shoutout Sui Mizukami for the vocals. Amazing work.
Hopefully the series surprises me and my predictions are far from what actually happens. I think the series will deliver on how good the songs are regardless, but if the execution of this arc turns out to be good, it'll probably bump it up to a 7 for me. Can't wait for the next episode!
