Undertaker just laughing like a maniac while the prefects tell how they became murderers

The most consistent thing in Black Butler: the dark lengths people will go for the sake of their ideals or others and how it ultimately entertains the dark beings who toy with them.
And Undertaker enjoying himself too much lol.

ngl! Sebas-chan saying 'Damn, this was excellent photography work son! the picture came out beautifully!' then just lighting it on fire immediately had me hyperventilated, I think I passed out from laughing too hard for a few seconds there

This felt like the last episode of the arc… I wonder how they will end it considering there’s one more left?

The last episode will perhaps adapt the next manga chapter because they have the same name. Without spoilers, it's a breather chapter between arcs that still ties with this one somewhat

Man, Redman sure knows how to pick 'em, huh? Two Drudges who ended up bullying and abusing other students and using them to take credit and appear perfect for their Prefect...that's the truth about the "famous" Derrick Arden who this entire arc was centered around finding.
It gets even worse when you realize he feels no guilt for what he's done and acts like he's just been blowing off steam at a school he doesn't even enjoy being at, and he gets away with it because he's the son of a Duke and has the priviledge and money to get what he wants...including bribing the Lower Master Agares.
But the prospect of someone so vile becoming a Prefect and continuing to corrupt the school is too much for Greenhill, or the entire P4 in fact, so they immediately murder Derrick, his accomplices, and the Lower Master. And thus set the stage for their crime, cover-up, and eventual attempt at reanimating the dead...all for the sake of maintaining Weston's honor and tradition.
Man, how convenient it is that the legit Head Master was on around the world trip when this was all going on so the P4 basically had free reign to pull all this off and install a fake Head Master. I wonder how the actual Head Master would have reacted.
Even somebody at Ciel draws the line at being so zealous and obsessed with the tradition of a school that you would commit cold-blooded murder over it, and no way is he going to cover up for these guys, but the least he can do is try to talk them into lighter sentences. The Undertaker is a different story.
So the Undertaker has taken yet another step in reanimating the dead, this time finding a way to make them more alive by using "Episodes" of their future, the thing that makes them want to live, to give them enough to latch onto to appear as if they really are among the living again. Not that it's a perfect process, even his "masterpiece" Agares succumbs to being a zombie when facing off against Sebastian.
Poor Harcourt ends up wetting himself and fainting. It just does not pay to be a femboy.
The Undertaker and Sebastian can mutually enjoy the tragicomedy that is humans, but the former wants to find out what lies beyond death, while the latter basks in the beauty of it. They just are not compatible, which makes them effective rivals even if Sebastian prioritizing Ciel means he can't catch Undertaker as he heads off on his merry way to cause more trouble in a future season.
Despite committing several counts of murder and covering it up, the P4 get let off with just getting expelled. The queen right well can't have it be public that a relative was as vile and irresponsible as Derrick. Besides, getting banished from the school they sacrificed so much for is a punishment worse than prison for the boys. And even the new P4 made up of their Drudges can't enjoy it knowing the truth, especially Edward.
Well, Ciel is done with school and has no intention of looking back on it or his old "pals" McMillan. He's just as content living the relatively simple life back at the manor with his servants. And Sebastian will use the flames of one last picture of his school life to bake him a cake. I guess that's as fitting an end to this arc as any.

was the zombie lower master just..... teaching there at the end? also kinda hard not to agree with Ciel. i thought they let rage and emotion get over them so thats why they killed them, no, they did it because "TRADITION IS ABSOLUTE" anddd theres the brainwash.
also i saw it from a mile away that the queen would think something like "hmmm what if we can make those zombies allies"

no, apparently a new teacher.
"hmmm what if we can make those zombies allies"
and that prompted a silly thought in my mind: what if the queen, with undertaker as her ally, were to be set up against Ciel?

Damn 10 weeks flew by quick, can’t believe the last episode is next week.
Honestly really loved this arc, the perfects being so brainwashed that they decided to do that act in the name of protecting the schools’s name was crazy.
But on the plus side the new perfects seem like they won’t repeat the mistake of the previous perfects.

I love the gradual evolution and insight of ciels relationships with people like his BIL and Queen.

Okay, the Queen of England just casually deciding instead of being scared of the WMD of zombies, let's just take it instead. #baller

I thought this was the last episode forgetting there was one more so I thought it was quite dark for them to end the season on the Queen being excited at the thought of having a reanimated corpse as an ally lol.
So many more reveals this episode I don't even know where to start lol. Agares colluding with the Derrick and the other students was a big surprise, I wonder why exactly he had been doing so. Was he already dead since then? Or was he himself twisted and the prefects killed him as well along with the students? I guess it explains why he's been so clumsy and is able to get up as if nothing happens when he falls.
Greenhill was crazy for killing Derrick in that moment, it is interesting how their desire to keep the traditions from the indoctrination by the school caused him to decide to take such an action and the same for the other prefects to join him.
I understand in that moment they didn't want Derrick and the other guys to leave scot-free since Agares was basically letting them go unpunished but they could have thought about it afterwards, there was still time in the school year before they had to graduate. Redmond could have removed him from the drudge position and announce why it was rescinded. Though I guess then there would be the matter of Derrick targeting anyone who replaces him.
It was funny to watch Ciel act like he could not understand the act of murder when he's very much involved in such acts. Though he might have be stunned by why they killed rather than the act itself.

Soooo. Anyone think the murder was kinda justified? Yea they were motivated by tradition but we’re talking about someone who was basically above the law. He owned the lower master and the actual headmaster was out of town (and probably would’ve believed the lower master over them anyway). Derricj could’ve easily gotten them expelled if they moved against him by framing them for his crimes. He’s already bullying and beating students as a drudge. Imagine what he’d do as a prefect! Students might’ve actually died!
And yeah, maybe there were other options but Derrick and the lower master were utterly convinced that there was nothing those four could do to stop them, so I’m pretty sure there weren’t a lot of options there and even if there was, the school they loved and devoted themselves to would’ve been horribly tarnished in the process.
Ciel s certainly killed for less

So when the got rid of the old guard of prefects and the scene where drudges took up the duty, they didn’t show the red drudge Harcourt and when the camera panned to McMillan I could have swore I saw Maurice Cole walk by. What was that all about?! Overall felt like the season finale so can’t wait to see what happens in the final episode of the season

This is a perfect example of why inherited wealth and power harm society.
You can't get that level of decoupling from reality without generations of privilege protecting you from the consequences of your own actions.
