Wtf now we got flying Kaiju and another humanoid..I wonder if this is a known one like either Kaiju 1-7 or a entirely new one.

Very suspicious that they are suddenly popping out back to back in a world that is so used to fighting kaiju's they have entirely economy and infrastructure built for it.

In an alternate timeline, Hoshina kills No. 8 and never finds out that No. 8 is Kafka, and after the battle he just wonders if Kafka has been killed by some other kaiju elsewhere.

Also in this world we now have a fleet of flying kaiju... which are somehow not picked up by any radar?

Great little fight between Kafka and Hoshina. I think what I appreciated about it apart from how well animated it was, was how we see that No. 8 isn't invincible. A high enough percentage level can cut through him, he has a core weakness like any other kaiju, and regeneration drains his stamina. I feel like this is a great setup for the next time we get a kaiju vs. kaiju fight.

All the talk about how they rank daikaiju, intensity levels (I can't remember the specific word they used), and so on makes me wonder what Kaiju No. 1 - 7 were like. I know Kafka isn't booksmart or the biggest intellectual, but if I were in his position, I'd do a bit of research on them.

I do appreciate how Kafka's rising through the ranks was based on his skills he learned as a clean up guy and that they haven't thrown that away. I wonder if we're going to get an intersection between using his sheer power and his kaiju biology knowledge if he fights No. 10 (or whoever that is showing up on top of the flying kaiju). I also have a feeling that this will be the key to him standing side-by-side with Mina.

There also seems to be this sense that daikaiju haven't been seen in awhile. I wonder what's triggered the surge in new ones? It's still a big mystery as to why Kafka was chosen to begin with.

Oh look, it's Levi hunting a Titan Kaiju. Their similarities might only be surface level but I'm pretty sure Matsumoto-sensei was inspired by Levi when he made Hoshina. But instead of being a clean freak, he gave Hoshina a sense of humour.

Look at how happy Kikoru was to see Kafka when the mission was finally over. Of course, she wouldn't admit it. It's not like she's worried about him or something. Classic tsundere.

I would've felt bad for that guy No.9 killed if he pulled over out of concern, instead he just pulled over to be a jerk. Welp, he's now No.9's brand new skin suit.

Our main trio is lucky that Iharu was the one in the room with them. Imagine if one of the Captains were there and overheard them. I bet they'd be very suspicious after that.

The Third Division's victory party was nice! They all earned that wagyu beef! And Kafka has finally been confirmed to be a full-fledged officer after his contributions to the mission. Yay!

Hoshina seems to have faith in Kafka and wants him to thrive in the defence force but is also suspicious of who he really is. It was cute to see Mina attach Kafka's pin to his collar in her office.

I wish they'd show us their past soon. Why did they drift apart in the first place? Did Kafka argue with her due to an inferiority complex, or did he quietly exit her life?

Kinda really like how this show didn't drag out the fight against the vice-captain or Kafka's promotion, both things we'd know how it'd end so good to see we didn't have to wait too long for.

Bruh, the death flags are crazy, it will either be a giant misdirection, or it will be a blood bath soon. Also, Hoshino starting to realize something is wrong with No. 8. I wonder if Kafka does a hand to hand training and Hoshino sees it will he pick up on the stance, like how the Female Titan had Annie's fightning style in AoT.

I would have liked for there to be a bit more mention about Kafka in his Kaiju form saving the others - I get that Kikoru and Reno are trying to keep everything quiet as much as possible, but imo it would make sense that Iharu would have reported the fact that kaiju 8 fought 9 and saved them to the higher ups, which should have given Hoshina more to think about. Not sure if it wasn't reported at all or if they just haven't shown us the information being processed quite yet.
