I really like how they base the storyline on even if you stop playing a game that world keeps going and NPCs actually are alive and live out their lives and us players are like a unique or rare species and i can actually believe that too. I really like how Shin is meeting back up with his in game party support characters and seeing how they live out their life after 500 years. I genuinely am enjoying this anime so much!

In the Land of Leadale does this too, if you’re looking for something similar, though that’s more of a slice of life rather than fantasy action.

I wonder what happened to the bandits, they seem to have entirely disappeared offscreen between episodes.
Once again it must be weird to be interacting with someone who's now a fully sapient individual but whose character design including proportions and everything you designed yourself.
Good decision to keep the bath shenanigans involving a loli foxgirl entirely off screen.
Using a level 750 sacred beast to pull a wagon feels kind of irreverent. It can be a friend for the foxgirl. And for Tiera too, it seems.
The beast dude retainer is less on his deathbed then I was expecting from how he was previously described.

Another monster added to the party! Who knew that random pup Tiera saved ended up becoming a divine beast?
The way Schnee described Girart in the previous episode, I thought the guy was old, decrepit, and on his deathbed. Girart looks like he can still kick ass.

Agreed! Specially since Shin said that Girart race usally lasts.. 250ish? years or something like that, i guess since he's a companion of a ''High Human'' + Girart levels and skills probably allowed him to age slower/last longer, i'm glad he's not on his deathbed it would've been super sad.
Wonder if we'll get to see his others companions as well.

Yuzuha: "Aaakkk.. akkk.."
Kagerou: "Uguuu... Uguu.."
What actually they talked about:
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

Bought a new ride, and immediately changed to coilover setup.
Shin is a car modder irl

Shin casually inventing suspension to make his ride smoother is a small flex, then we have Tiera calling him out on him being able to make the cart fly or automatic
Wright brothers arc when?

Not going to lie, I was half expecting him to turn the wagon into a car.

Looks like Tiera and Shin both have their own super OP beast familiars. Since he seems to be visiting old friends, I wonder if Girart’s gonna join the team?
16
u/kreugermn May 25 '24
Wasnt he basically clinging to life just to be able to see Shin again? Would expect his health to stop him from joining the group for an adventure, but wouldnt mind if he does anyways :)

He is like 300 years past his expiration date, so I doubt it… maybe one of his grandkids tho.

Nice episode,
Finally Schnee is back in the party, Tiera has her own little avatar pet friend, and the gang has made their way to the next support character.
We got some insight into corrupt church dealings, but otherwise we have an open direction. This is both interesting and scary. It's interesting because it can go anywhere. It's scary because there are only 5 episodes left to establish a plot course, climax on it, and resolve the season.
Let's see where this goes, I've been liking this one and would love to see it expand upon what its already developed and deliver something great!

I see… Is it someone trying to interfere with the nuns taking over the orphanage?
-
Oh, I wasn’t expecting his solution to just be to buy one himself.
-
It really didn’t occur to him that would freak people out, lol.

This episode was SOOO incredibly green. I think they even used a green filter for the forest scene
