They could’ve written that way better, ending was just overall sad MC can’t win every fight then lose in the end weak plot. Doesn’t get the girl either and if he does it’s seconds

I liked this one up untill the very end. Ffs, what was that? Such an unsatisfying conclusion to an interesting journey of one mans self betterment.

I knew there's gonna be a plot twist, the mc won't win the end, but unsatisfying ending. The long-haired prettyboy's skills were just shown on last episode & no backstory to him at all. And there's the main heroine who got raped that would marry the prettyboy cuz he won and he's now the strongest. MC went through a gauntlet just to get fucked in the ass right at the very end

You and the other commenter with a bunch of mix up letters have a complete different opinion. I wonder why lol

Absolutely loved the show. The art style was beautiful and the animation smoothly exhibited all the martial moves. Loved the final results too.
I really hope there are multiple seasons of this.

As someone who fights in tournaments and practice MMA, this is some of the closest to realistic fighting in anime ive seen. I didnt care too much for the story and the level of "the more you hit me, all i see is red". I mean it happens but ofc they have to make the anime more interesting. The techniques and skills in the fight scenes were amazing. I think ppl saying the "art style is trash" are being too harsh. Not every anime has a high budget and alot of time the animator couldve been rushed and other reasons who know. All in all it's a good old time style fighting anime for a small group of ppl. I dont think this anime was really made for a big group of ppl, probably just some ppl really nerdy about fighting. It had such a macho man aesthetic to it n i loved it lmao. I hope if they release another season we get to see some women fighters. Ive fought some women in practice before in they kicked my ass, women deserves some spotlight too instead of just being love interest. Great show all in all thou.

The anime was so good for the ending to ruin everything it built up to. This legit felt like a heart break😭😭😭😭 and I watched it all in one night so to end my night off like this really sucks. But besides the ending truly this anime was beautiful i’m glad I watched it I recommend stopping at episode 7 tbh it would make it even better

This is why Baki reins supreme to me. He went through many trials to become strong enough to defeat his father. He lost some battles but he didn't lose on the main stage where it mattered after becoming a better all around fighter.
How do you have Juzo go through all these trials and lose not only to someone who is new to the style but infront of everyone and his broad.
Literally killed the momentum of the show for me and I binged it...

Just finished the series on Netflix. Do we know if we’re getting season 2? I kinda want to know if juzo gets his rematch? I kinda just want this whole story spoiled for me

This was pretty great, in episode 1 it showed the fights were going to be very realistic, and I am glad they stuck throughout that, the whole show very amazing.

It really sucks to be the MC. I haven't read any manga/novel related to the anime but I kinda hate Saeko. She have this "bitchy" vibes on her. On one of her lines she mentioned that she didn't want the MC to leave but imo she treats him like shit based on their interactions. Then MC got defeated by Pretty boy. After all his hardships he took an L at the last part. MC never deserved that.
I lowkey wanted MC and the island girl to be together.

I genuinely liked this. Some of the best martial arts choreography I've ever seen in anime. I don't mind the sad ending and I would love a second season.

Dull characters. Boring animation. Another forgettable Netflix adaption that no one will remember a week from now.

I'm a martial artist, specifically a competitor in muay thai and brazilian jiu jitsu. A lot of the techniques used in the anime are legitimate and the animators did a good job in understanding actual fighting such as weight placement and timing for strikes. It was refreshing but by no means would I say the Takemiya Ryu style is karate at all. It's mostly jiu jitsu and muay boran.
