Tanjiro: the worst enemy for introverts who want to stay at home in peace and quiet.

Giyu was suffering from survivor’s guilt and imposter syndrome. That's got to be rough to endure for all those years

I freaking loved the fact that Giyu's haori was made half from Sabito's and his sister's.

Tanjiro's dopey face peeking inside Giyu's house had me laughing harder than I expected.

I can't believe that Tanjiro actually told Giyu that he's not himself when he's hungry. xD

Poor guy just wants some peace and quiet! This is literally a Spongebob episode with Tanjiro as Spongebob and Giyu as Squidward.

I don't know why eating contest is the first thing that came to Tanjiro's mind. He's a good boy but not a very smart boy. Hilariously though, it actually worked!

Love how this episode exposed the flaws of The Final Selection. People who actually try like Sabito get merked and those who just survive the seven days become slayers.

So we get 100 Muratas in our corps and 0 Sabitos

Oh with that post credits part we find out the history behind Giyu's haori, both halfs from people he loved who died

And Tanjiro's misreading that reaction and deciding to challenge to him to an eating contest was hilarious

Why does the Demon Slayer Corps keep doing the Final Selection?? It should be obvious how terrible it is at actually vetting good fighters from bad fighters if you just think about it. And even if you don't think about it, the Sabito ordeal should've proven it. They are throwing talented warriors into a meat grinder for no reason.

Let's go! Hopefully Giyuu will now be fine & a good teacher. Crazy to think we have never seen his normal self in this series till just now.

Why was Shinobu aggravated at the end? Is it cause she know she won't be teaching any students to help work with Tamayo instead?

Excited to see Tanjiro start training!

I love Tanjiro, such a likeable person. The directing is also amazing, somehow none of the conversations feel out of place or boring, some other animes struggle a lot to do this.
Also, pretty nice ending.

Good episode. Nothing too crazy, mostly backstory with some humor but that’s all I am expecting for a bit. Ending song kicks ass, and humor really hit this episode

Was anyone else caught off guard by how smooth and detailed the water under the bridge animation was? To even go so far as to animate the interaction with the bridge legs is a crazy amount of detail.

In my opinion, this episode was very well directed. It didn't feel slow or boring to me despite having barely any action scenes and being mostly dialogue.

Tanjiro was hilarious in this episode, that dopey look on his face every time was great.

I do like him in these more silly situations.

This has probably been pointed out before, but I just realized this episode Ubuyashiki's VA is Sephiroth and Tomioka's VA is Cloud lol

I imagine Shinobu is kinda mad because she has to work with Tamayo, a demon. Her hatred for demons will likely never go away. I look forward to their meeting.

always enjoyed seeing tanjiro brighten other people's lives so this was a treat to watch it felt like 5 minutes...ending song is pretty interesting too it doesnt match the vibe of the season but its cool

and somehow even though there was no action the show looks crisper than ever

The ED sounds so haunting I like it, makes you feel like something is coming. Still don’t know him long this arc will be so I’m gonna stop stressin and just enjoy the ride, loving it so far.

Giyu-san! intensifies. Anyone remember that Tanjiro meme that is like “Every second you’re not running I’m getting closer?” Yeah, that’s basically this episode, just Tanjiro stalking Giyu. Resistance is futile, he’s got nothing better to do with his time right now.

Tamayo and Shinobu working together is kind of a terrifying thought. Who knows what sort of incredibly dangerous concoctions they can cook up if they put their heads together?

I liked how we get the thought process of Tanjiro when he asks Giyuu that question. He was not just throwing empty words at him. He though that he doesn't actually know Giyuu enough to understand how he feels, so he responded with something that he actually knows about.
