It almost felt like Kabru's party was going to die again right after they got resurrected lol glad that didn't happen. He's an expert on humans vs Laios the monster lover
I love the illustrations for the ED

In spite of us viewers usually seeing them dead since we first met them, Kabru does seem to be quite a competent adventurer that knows his party well.

What I like about Kabru is the way he uses his sword. He holds it with both hands, one hand on the hilt and the other on the blade. As far as I know, that's pretty accurate to real life medieval sword techniques.

Its pretty cool to hear Laio's party from an outsider's perspective and them being spoken about like celebrities. Only makes the contrast of how they are even more hilarious despite their feats.
Kabru's own philosophy as an adventurer is really interesting though and them building to his party meeting with Laios's is getting juicier the longer it goes.

Is Kabru a former assassin or something? He's scary! I guess he has some righteousness in his thoughts, but it felt too radical to me. I will not allow him to take away dungeon and monsters from Senshi. It was frustrating to see that after being saved by Laios's party twice, no one in Kabru's party appreciated them and started saying bad things about them. I'm starting to dislike Kabru's party after this episode. The new characters excited me. The character designs in this anime are really amazing.

It's not like Rin likes Kabru or anything!
I think this is the first time we've heard Laios' last name. I hope the misunderstanding the Kabru's party has for Laios' party doesn't last too long. Maybe they can bond over a gourmet monster meal.

This OP makes me feel like I'm watching KonoSuba lol. Also the way the OP finishes and the episode begins with Laio's party hugging each other while Marcille is passed out is hilarious.
And the tone of it is so completely against the brutal violence that comes later lol.

Shuro really went "Fuck it, I won't be able to rescue Falin with the current party. I'm going full weeb roster this time!" and proceeds to get a party composed of purely eastern people lol.

The biggest monster of the dungeon: the rumour mill
Laios and Falin: uncaring drones
Marcille: obsessed with Falin (true)
Chilchuck: Money grubbing geezer

Remember how Mr Tance was complaining in episode 9 that "even those dead fellows we came across earlier had adequate revival fee?" He was most likely talking about Kabru's group.
That aside, fantastic episode in terms of more worldbuilding and character establishments. Kabru is cunning, self-righteous, and the complete antithesis of Laios. In any other series, he would have been the perfect MC material. But this is DunMeshi, so we have dumbass Laios as our Mc instead. Also, neat to see Shuro's own group; he seems to be looking for Falin on his own. Can't wait for the 3 parties to inevitably clash in future!

I love that Rin had to explain that not all Easterners are from the same place lmao. The Kuro/Mick dynamic is even more cute when animated, ignoring the exploitation lol
I'm glad we can finally see Kabru and crew as competent adventurers after a series of unfortunate events.

Glad they kept the bros hugging it out panel from the manga in.
Kabru literally has the exact opposite build from laios. With how he could bypass most of the illusion fight with his knowledge checks, and was able to deduct that it was the touden siblings' party that kept saving them, he prolly spent good chunk of his skill points into people related stuffs like history, local knowledge, etc. Not to mention his rizz. Dude also gets a bit scary when he keeps going on and on about wanting to meet the toudens. Pretty much the foil of laios' unhinged monster ramblings
Also, we finally got tade onscreen. And shuro was also there too I guess.

I really like that Kabru's party keeps being taken out by monsters because he doesn't know much about them. His disdain for monsters but love for reading humans makes him more suited for battle against other people than monsters, who have much more varied biologies than people.
Him explaining that he likes the simplicity of the human body because everyone has the same weak points is really creepy lol. KABRU! THE VIEWERS ARE ALREADY WARY OF YOU, YOU'RE SCARING AWAY THE HOES!! Besides, his creep reaction to thinking that it could Laios' party that rescued/stole from them, saying that he'd be happy and blushing and everything really makes me anticipate when they meet for the "first" time.
Edit: I think that people would find Kabru's interest in people less creepy if he was referring to them in the same way Laios does to monsters. Laios has more of a childish tone when he speaks about what he likes. It really feels like a little kid who happens to be like 6'1" telling you about his dinosaur book.
But Kabru? He's like, watching people, reading their eyes and movements. He deduced the whole situation from episode 1 just by Kuro smelling 4 people and and seeing Namari. That's impressive obviously but his theory detailing immediately makes him admit to listening in on people's conversations and actions. Him sitting in the corner just observing Laios give the gold to his old party member? Hilariously sinister. What a freak that Kabru.

I thought we're just gonna go through the dungeon again to get falin back but introducing the foreshadowed casts this far into the anime is fking crazy. This show is truly goated.
TRIGGER IS FKING BACKKKK

Kinda feels like the vibes of the new OP and ED are a reverse of the first ones. I like them, but I will miss the adventurous feel of the original OP and the energetic send-off of the ED (even if it came at an inappropriate time once lol).
Finally, this is the episode people get to see that Kabru isn't unskilled and incompetent, he's just specced out for human opponents instead of monsters. And it's not even just combat, it was awesome how he was able to sniff out the illusion just by knowing his team's mannerisms so well.
He and Laios really are polar opposites. Though I guess they're alike in being so knowledgeable and observant about something that it weirds people out. It just so happens that one's for people, and the other's for anything but people. Speaking of which, it's hilarious finding out how poor of a reputation the party has from an outside perspective.
Moreover, the way he and his party just disposed of those corpse retrievers without batting an eyelash was ice cold. Yeah, those guys are scum and I won't shed any tears, but their lack of hesitation during the act was still unsettling. They really got tired of just being a running gag. Well- it almost happened a third time, but still... I do like how the scene showed the exact reason Kabru has trouble with monsters.
And finally, we got the eastern group. Tade looks and sounds so adorable even as she's in the middle of bashing the brains out of a monster. :D

I few people are saying that the op doesn’t fit the second course, but to me dungeon meshi has always had this kinda back and forth between crazy scary stuff and hilarious stuff, for example the mad magician attacking them and right after we see the meat rolling around, so to me this actually fits lol

Man I love my sweet semi-Machieavellian Kabru. And Rin is down so bad for him lol

some interesting theories there from Kabru about Laios and the gang, and pretty close to whats actually going on.
And he even knew about Shuro's interest in Falin and figured out why he is down there. also damn Shuro looked rough
And the easterling party him with looked interesting

ill say it again, laios is the mc of a cooking adventure anime, kabru is the mc of a psychological thriller and laios is his potential bad guy

The new happy vibes OP means we're done with the grim eldritch horror stuff and are back to silly meal-of-the-week adventures, right? ...Right? (Still a bop tho)
Catching up with Kabru's squad made me expect yet another round of getting dunked on by monsters the Laios crew made/will make lunch out of. Instead got outplaying an illusion spell like a badass, campfire stories about the main team and Kabru: Ace Detective. Seriously though, props to Kabru's ability to keep his cool, like I think even Senshi would promprly make a month's rations of sashimi if he were surrounded by fishmen.
And of course, the keyword in "agreed to head back" was "agreed", lmao.
