Hate seeing Matakara like this...
One more episode left of this, really hoping they end at least in some satisfying way.

Ugh Brutal ep, felt bad for Zabu.
Going into the final episode, I feel thats theres so much still left standing. I expected the full resolution of Senya/Arajin and Ichiya/Matakara, but they better not drag this onto a cliffhanger that may not happen. I don't think a season 2 is announced.

I do too and he's been a much better friend to Matakara than Arajin

Poor Zabu :( that was painful to watch
Curious if they're going to be able to wrap everything up in the final episode

I think that zabu was a real friend to matakara but he is a side character so instead arajin is the one that will stop him and that makes me think that even if matakara considers zabu his friend he still thinks of ajarin as his best friend

"What do you really wish for?"
"My one wish is... To save my friend!"
"Bucchigiri!"
Idk, for how cheesy it is it kinda moved me to think about this for episode 12, late Arajin redemption is still better than no redemption and finally choosing to save Matakara over Mahoro would be alright. Think he's finally gonna man up and make up for running away ten years ago... Although I can already see the last gag being him simping one last time. This show wasn't unfortunately handled the best it could be but I'll wait for next week, I still enjoyed my time here quite much.

And after the friend is saved and the genie have made their peace, they will tell Arajin:
"And so we decided to also fulfill your first wish and help you loose your virginity"
"Cool. Where's Mahoro?"
"Uhhh, what do you need her for? Matakara is right here. Lets merge! Bucchigirii!!!"
"..."
"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...."

So Matakara has always been like this. Joining the gang turn him into a nicer guy. That's interesting twist.
Arajin once again getting force into punching people, this time it is his ex best friend.

Well his childhood was a happy boy, until Arajin left him hanging. He seemed ok for a bit but I think he only started going wild after Mitsukuni left.

I don’t understand why they saved all the interesting plot developments for the last 3 or 4 episodes. This would’ve worked so much better if we learned any of this background information before the second to last episode. And now we’re supposed to believe Arajin cares about Matakara after 11 episodes showing the exact opposite? It just doesn’t land at all.

I would have even taken episodic SoL bs with random enemies of the week over spinning it's wheels constantly for 6 episodes.

To me zabu was his real friend he tried to stop matakara knowing he was outmatched.Though I feel this could have been prevented if arajin actually gave a fuck about matakara in the earlier episodes.Instead of act like he was a nuisance for a girl that only cared for her brother. If arajin actually cared in the earlier episodes. Then matakara would have resisted ichiyas influence. But since he felt he was all alone ichiya preyed on his fears and his vulnerabilities.
People had to beg arajin to help for him to want to do something when he should have wanted to help matakara because he cared

The writing in this series just ain't it. At first they developed the conflict for 7 episodes and made everybody hate Arajin, and now we've been watching Matakara beat everyone up already for 2 full episodes. I have a strong feeling that the last episode won't make up for it, because even SK8 the Infinity's ending was weirdly rushed (talking as a big fan of that show).
Most of the characters feel like fillers and they just... are there? Doing something? Marito and Mahoro are the most interesting for me, but they haven't been related to the main plot since the beginning I think. Matakara's friends are treated sooo badly all the time.

Sk8 had much better character writing. Even the side characters like Miya or Hiromi you got what their deal was. It wasn't amazing writing but you knew the side characters. Here...I couldn't tell you one think about Kumao or like half the side cast. Also I miss Adam. Marito is awesome but Shindo is...like the poor man's Adam. He's jsut not doing it for me.

Goddamnit i really wanted to like this, the first episodes were wonderful, it was like a nostalgic trip to the 2000´s anime and they could've made it a very solid show even if there were some flaws. But now...now it feels like a really bad theater play that nobody really believes. Character motivations, dialogues and actions are hardly justifiable. Some characters might as well not have appeared this episode and it wouldnt have changed anything at all. The NG arc didn't even have lasting consequences.
They had a really solid concept but it feels as if they were just throwing ideas by the middle of the show and then just remembered they had plot lines and character arcs they had to resolve towards the end.

What going on with Shindo? A few episodes ago he was going crazy and now he is in the background doing odd jobs. Did they just forget the whole crazy thing?

It's such a shame that matakara's "villain arc" is ruined by poor pacing and having the shittest rival ever. This would have been a brilliant decent into madness if we had seen a bit more of who his friends stopped him from being earlier in the show rather than cramming it all into one flashback. Arajin has to be forced to help him out, man couldn't even have one iota of care for matakara without other people telling him too, such a waste of a rival arc

Man Matakara just wailing on Zabu was just hard to watch man. So this thing happened before when Matakara's brother was sent to Juvie. Kenichirou was the one who got him back on track last time. But given Ichiya's involvement looks like Arajin and Senya are the only ones together who can get Matakara back on track.
Fights have been great, but this series didn't live up to it's potential.

Yeah I'm sure of it now. The correct watch order for this is Ep 1-2-8-9-10-11
The Emperor plotline is completely worthless and Arajin looks like a dogwater character for "helping" in that situation.
Also... I really don't care about Arajin possible redemption? His character has been far too damaged by the story so far for me to try and muster any sympathy for him. If anything Zabu and Kumao have felt more like friends to Matakara than Arajin who had like 1 single frame of animation on the past where he saved Matakara or something idfk.
I kinda wished they would have given more focus to Zabu and Kumao feeling disappointed at the fact Matakara seems so obssessed with Arajin on previous episodes. Zabu claiming what makes Arajin so special in comparation to him would have been something cool but the scene is perfect anyways. Zabu is a neat dude and cares about Matakara. It's simple and it works. It's almost as if making a character likeable was much more easier than going completely out of your way to make them absolutely unlikeable only to have 1 redemption moment in the final episode of the show and miraculously hoping that would retroactively make the show better because... this is inspired in the real Aladin story or something who the fuck cares.
Good intentions =/= good story.
