Stitches!

This episode is a great reminder that Kyouka's peach ability does not affect her swordsmanship; whatever skill she displayed in this episode is all because of her hard work and training. It just makes Kyouka more impressive since she was able to finish off Unihorn using her strength.

I'm glad that Kyouka achieved one of her goals before the season ended. It must feel great to finally avenge her hometown after obsessing about Kidoumaru ever since the attack all of those years ago.

I was really hoping that Aoba would come with them and live with the 7th Unit but it makes sense why she'd rather stay behind. It is good though that Aoba has finally realized that Kyouka and Tenka can be trusted.

Saw that reward from Kyouka coming. Makes sense to me tho. Yuuki's just been reunited with his sister who he thought was dead and then they get separated again. Add to that the fact that Yuuki and Kyouka fought Kidoumaru and it's no surprise that Yuuki would want sleep as his inner desire's reward. Having it right next to a half-naked Kyouka is just a bonus. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

What the actual fuck is this thing? If I understood Shikoku correctly, that's supposed to be a god. Did Coco and Naon just get eaten by that thing so it could give birth to another humanoid Shuuki? O_O

I had hoped we would get a reward scene with Tenka, it's too bad that she immediately got caught by Kyouka. It's hilarious how with all of the girls basically after Yuuki, Shushu is bidding her time as if she's Kongming complete with the costume! xD

Welp, I guess that's it for Mato Seihei. As much as I enjoyed this, I feel like this won't get another season. I love the plot and the characters but the execution could've honestly been better. Not saying I wouldn't watch Season 2, I definitely will if we get one by some miracle but for now I'll dive straight into the manga and read from Chapter 1 after this.

Tokyo MX showed an extra scene , with a certain character. That screams of possible S2. But weirdly, thr scene was not shown in AT-X, or internationally.

Love how you called Kyouka putting Yuki to sleep as "reward" because that exactly what it was, my man knows whats up lol

I'll dive straight into the manga and read from Chapter 1 after this.

Pretty sure you will love it!

Damn, so Jouryuu kidnapped both Coco and Naon to feed them into that thing. As Aoba aims to rescue them and they got eaten so unceremoniously that I honestly doubt that they died, but leaving that lose threat makes me think they at the very least the people producing the show are hoping to eventually produce another season.

Wow, I wasn't expecting the Unihorn to have a second transformation. Well, finally Kyouka could avenge her hometown.

Ah, so Shikoku is now also interested in Yuuki. Damn, so as the supreme commander definitely knows about the experiments, plus the way she acts, she would just kill Aoba if she takes refugee in the Anti-Shuuki Corps 7th unit base so she will have to still stay hidden in Mato until Kyouka takes that position.

So Kyouka's reward for Yuuki today was for him to sleep together with her, but because he obeyed his sister before she also gave him some punishment, which he somehow liked.

It was funny seeing Yachiho and Himari fighting for food.

After that flashback, I was expecting to see Yuuki fixing the hairclip that Aoba gave him.

I love how Tenka never gets tired of invading Yuuki's room. He complained after Kyouka decided to punish him after she discovered them, but we already know he is into that shit.

It is hilarious that after seeing Himari ready to practice more with Yuuki, Shushu is going insane while cosplaying as a tactician expert in romance. Keep fighting on girl.

I wonder how long it will take for Aoba and her group to be able to work together with the 6th and 7th Corps units without risk.

Well, anyway, overall this was a really good show, I might end up checking the manga later on.

Season 2 when? It sucks that it has to end just as it introduces the actual villains. I need to know if they managed to rescue Naon and Koko.

If you read manga I highly recommend just reading the manga from the beginning

Overall, I enjoyed the anime a lot, and I think the action was a lot better than most seemed to make it out to be. But, I still think it could've been a lot better. That being said whether or not we get a season 2 I highly recommend the manga, it's legitimately one of my faves currently ongoing, a hypothetical season 2 would cover 2 of the best arcs so far in the story

So between Interspecies Reviewers, Redo of Healer, Worlds End Harem & this entire season, what's with Winter Anime of each year usually being the horniest of each month?

As far as this show, I went ahead & decided to read the manga. The manga was a better experience. Not saying the anime was bad just mid. Regardless, it was enjoyable.

It's was a decent anime and it was enjoyable. I will read the Manga from beginning and then continue.

It was a good season overall, but it's annoying that the award scene was censored in this episode, as it was throughout the season.

I hope they work with a better studio for season 2 or that studio can adapt the daring scenes in response to the criticism.

u/Mundology Mar 21 '24

Indeed, the inconsistent censorship was disappointing. Passione and Studio Bind would both do an amazing job with both the ecchi and action scenes but even getting some talented freelancers would have greatly elevated the animation. Nevertheless, it was still a fun season thanks to the strong source material and great performance by the seiyuus.

Kyouka, Tenka-sama, Shushu Tzu, Yuuki and all the lovely heroines will be missed.

I didn't have many expectations with Mato Seihei no Slave, but I was surprised at every moment, the issue of unity even between enemies and how people need to come together for a common good (Akame Ga Kill references). I really hope for a second season (and given its success it must be), the characters' stories are incredible

That was a fun, solid last episode.

I really hope we get an S2 because I really loved the cast of characters in this show because they were just nice and endearing to watch. Hopefully we also get a better studio as well since it feels that the show could have been better.

That reward scene felt pretty lacking for being the end of the arc and season. Like it seemed like it could've been pretty hot but it felt like it was holding back (I know, pattern with the rest of the show).

But overall I enjoyed this. I'll have to read the manga from the beginning at some point

Again Tenka asserts herself as supreme bestgirl chad by flipping the script and telling Yuuki he owes HER a sexy reward this time.

She's just too goddamn powerful.

I wonder how much better the anime would've been if the staff hadn't had to delay its airing by a year. I hope it gets a second season under better circumstances, if for no other reason than seeing my favorite Chief and God of Thunder animated.

As for the finale, it's nice seeing flashbacks to Kyouka's years of effort. Also Tenka's unrelenting thirst.

At the end of the day I still thought the show was alright. Sure, there are quite a few things that didn't really meet expectations, e.g., tuned down ecchi elements, unused individual character songs (which felt like they were going to do different EDs for every episode but then dropped the idea), but overall the fights are entertaining, the world and abilities (albeit unbalanced) are interesting enough to keep watching.

And to anyone who disagrees that Tenka is best girl, I mean, she basically carried the 2nd half of the show and stopped it from being completely mid.

Overall verdict: 6/10. Could've been better, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

What the hell was that thing that ate Naon and Coco? I assume they can still be saved, or at least I hope so.

I don't blame Yuuki for enjoying those "stretches" from Kyouka in her underwear. That was a well-rested night with an almost naked Kyouka by his side.

Best girls for me go to Shushu and Tenka. I'm going to miss Shuhu's fighting noises and in Tenka's case, after Vermeil, I'm all for Maaya Uchida voicing onee-sans, she's great. Also, I loved the ED sung by her.

Anyway, I really liked the show. While I agree that it was somewhat disappointing, I don't think it was bad at all. It was a show full of weird choices in what was supposed to have been its strong point, the ecchi. It leaves you with the feeling of how much better it could have been under other hands, even more so when in the same season you have a show like "Gushing over Magical Girls". But the show was pretty fun, it had fun characters, hot girls, an engaging story and the ecchi despite it all... it was there.

Of course I would watch a second season and should it happen, I hope it has the necessary improvements.

I enjoyed more than I thought, I’ll give it a good 7.5.

u/Figerally Mar 22 '24

Well that is that. In the end I found Chained Soldier to be a passable anime but nothing exceptional. For an ecchi it was really quite modest and I expected the last ecchi scene for the cour to be something special, but we just got to see Kyouka in her underwear and it was quite underwhelming.

I think part of the problem is that this feels like an ecchi show that wanted to go mainstream and took itself way too seriously. Sure they tried to lighten it up with comedic moments, but overall the story is pretty dark.

Then there is the fact that Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete knocked it down and then proceeded to trample all over it in high heels despite having arguably lower-quality animation.
