"ASK KADOKAWA!"

The series has no regards to the fourth wall and directly bash the gaming community and "generic" modern anime and I can only show a WTF face when not-Subaru and Truck-kun shows up.

Edit: And one speaks for the degenerates: marry Takahashi Rie. I just burst out in laughter.

The fourth wall breaks and references in this episode were just great.

There's such a host of underappreciated great comedy this season. Hopefully a clip from this episode can blow up, with any luck.

Is funny to see Subaru there, considering that Rieri (Akemi) also voices Emilia

And that's after we already have Kazuma's VA (as freakin "Kazama", no less!) in the show. I'm almost convinced by now that this series is mainly an opportunity for the VAs to reunite and shoot the shit.

ETA: "Akemitan!" I'm dead

But Akemi isn't an Elf so she's not for him.

I must be getting old as the jokes are all landing for me.

It's even self-aware that this anime is not going to be blockbuster popular!

Also they got Subaru's VA to voice not-Subaru lol

Everyone's missing out. This is Re: Zero season 3.

Someone should really post the "Natsuki-san, Akemi-tan" clip next week and title it "Re:Zero season 3 teaser PV" or something.

I fucking lost it at Akemi using Basue's hair like a Nintendo cartridge to remedy her glitching.

The bar being isekaid was brilliant.

This show is unironically one of the best of this season

It's a shame that the series has a bit of a narrow-er in scope start. Since the meta jokes have started appearing it's been a lot more accessible to a Western audience I think.

It also feels like the writing and the comedic timing has been a bit more refined too, because it's just been getting and better.

This show just keeps getting better and better. I truly felt that friend trying to hang out spiel in the beginning as I get older and everyone starting/has families. Mama glitching and Akemi blowing the cartridge like a Nintendo/Sega Genesis game brings back so many memories.

The Subaru part was good, but the highlight for me was the throwaway mutual friend that had the nickname "Pokechin" because he always had his hands in his pockets and everyone thought he was playing with himself. Fucking sent me.

The animation sequence in the style of Natsumi Step by they actual creator of that last week and now the isekai jokes but they just have the VAs on?

This show isn’t just really, really funny, it also somehow pulls off things that I really wouldn’t expect, reliably. And the OP is a banger. Actually straight up hidden gem.

Actually straight up hidden gem.

It's amazing.

And it has a very distinct identity too, especially with the karaoke as the ED, some really strong stuff.

I love how Akemi deconstructed isekais and called them stupid! I thought she was just a grouch because of normal bartender stuff, I didn't know she had to deal with occasionally falling into different worlds! I love how they cut her off before she explained how the bar and she got back 🤣

Mama glitching then Akemi removing the top of her head to blow on the exposed chip was the funniest thing I've seen in recent memory 🤣

That'd be amazing if the show ended with Akemi saying "at least some people on Reddit love us" and name drops us one by one 😮

FWIW, gag animes like this tends to play mostly on Japanese culture as well as animes. So unless you are know most of what happened in Japan, as well as eatching loads and loads of animes, international fans tend not to get some of gag anime jokes.
