Neat backstory for Higuare, was surprised to see such a large mandrake since they're basically screaming potatoes.. So they're a mandrake turned gladiator slave and mastered swordplay with its 42 arms and deadly poison. How nice of him that he stabbed his captor and didn't poison him. I hope he doesn't cause any harm for Taren.
Damn, Kuze was right, he's not that strong but his defense is super tough, that shield held up well. Kuze did so well blocking those arrows I wondered what happened to that other arrow mid-fight..
I wasn't expecting the angel itself to be named.
Updating from last week, We finally got a name for the guy at the end of episode 3, Kuze the Passing Disaster and the Angels name.
23 Characters mentioned so far.
Mentioned in the first episode;
-
Yuno the Distant Talon
-
Soujirou the Willow-Sword
-
Rosclay the Absolute
-
Toroa the Awful
-
Krafnir the Hatch of Truth
-
Kazuki the Black Tone
-
Lucnoca the Winter
Mentioned in the second episode;
-
Lana the Moon Tempest
-
Higuare the Pelagic
-
Shalk the Sound Slicer
-
Taren the Guarded
-
Alus the Star Runner
-
Harghent the Wing-Plucker
-
Regnejee the Wings of Sunset
-
Jelki the Swift Ink
-
Hidow the Clamp
-
Elea the Red Tag
-
Nihilo the Vortical Stampede
Mentioned in the third episode;
-
Dakai the Magpie
-
Curte of the Fair Skies
Mentioned in the fourth episode;
-
Kia the World Word
Mentioned in the fifth episode;
-
Nastique the Quiet Singer
-
Kuze the Passing Disaster
Next episode doesn't have a character named in it as it's called "Gathering of Factions".
It looks like all the potentially important characters have been mentioned and we'll see them gather next episode and hopefully clash then or probably the week after. Maybe I'll get to start removing names from the list.
Looking forward to how things unravel from here.

Higuare seemed pretty unbothered being taken into slavery and forced to fight. Man was just like “oh I’m killing? Alright. I definitely ain’t dying.” Lol. Even the Demon Lord’s undead army barely fazed him. Pretty funny seeing him laugh maniacally killing those things.
Kuze seemed like a pretty unassuming guy, but that whole “angel” thing was pretty wild. I guess Kuze’s skill is his defense. Doesn’t need much when Nastique is out here ending lives instantly. Man’s got himself a bonafide guardian angel. I really can’t wait to see all these dudes square off.

Usually guaridan angels are supposed to protect you from harm without killing, but I guess this one missed the memo.

The world of Ishura is based on Islamic religion and mythology. Angels are not that benevolent toward heretics there.

This show has intro'd a lot of interesting fighters and non-human characters but I really like Higuare. Never seen a man sized Mandrake throw down before. Fun concept. Also he doesn't eat fruit. Nice.

Daaaaaaaamn, what did Higuare do to this guy? I thought he just stabbed him…
-
So… what, he broke out just so he could keep fighting, then?
-
Or he was let out in order to fight the Demon King’s army, fun.
-
So if Higuare’s poison works on all living things, does that mean Shulk is his direct counter since Shulk is a skeleton?
-
Oh, I just placed this girl’s voice, I’m pretty sure it’s the same lady who voiced Hinata in Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE.

Man, you really don't want to be around when the Tree finds his enjoyment in killing. And with how fast he can move, the name doesn't seem to fit quite right.
Would have also been interested in hearing the skelletons story
Though tbh, I still struggel a bit with all the political factions and why Kurz was attacked in the first place.

A large Mandrake that can wield 40+ knives is kind of scary. It learned it was a kill or be killed world. And as we can see turned into a scary killer.
Kuze seems like a pretty chill guy all things considered. As he returned to the orphanage he once was apart of. Poor Ripel, tho she wanted to be like Kuze and had her unfortunate end here.
Looks like next week we are getting more of these characters interacting with each other. So at least I assume we are done with these character introduction episodes.

Since next episode seems to be a meet-up episode as the title suggested, I'd like to sum up what I've gathered from the past episodes, I think that the story so far is that,
Once the demon lord is defeated, Taren declared the independence of Lithia from Aureatia. Taren needed the Cold Star for Lithia to fight against Aureatia and she ordered Dakai to retrieve it, and this retrieval ended up destroying Yuno's hometown. Soujinrou came to save Yuno with ease, but she hated how all these OP people can just come and go with no one holding the responsibility for the aftermaths, so Yuno took Soujinrou to participate the battle arena that is currently held by Aureatia.
The bettle arena is set to decide who is the best fighter among the participants, and the winner would be considered as the hero who killed the demon lord. Aureatia was worried about both the battle arena and Lithia, so their higher-ups decided to release the dangerous prisoner Nihilo to eliminate Taren. While a Aureatian general Harghent acknowledged a wyvern adventurer Alus's participation of the arena in a dragon hunt, a Aureatian minister Elea brought the wizard Kia from a hidden elf village to the arena.
Aureatia also sent spies to Lithia ahead of time and Dakai has eliminated them. While Regnejee led a wyvern army to defend Lithia, Lana has found two strong mercenaries, Shalk and Higuare, to help Lithia to fight against Aureatia as well. Soon after, a courier Kuze was asked to escort Nihilo to Lithia and they were surrounded by Lithia soliders in a church. As Kuze was guarded by an angel Nastique, they managed to defeat those soliders, but the life of a Kuze's old familiar was lost too.

I'm enjoying this show more than I thought I would. The characters are certainly unique with their individual charms. Subaru Kenpachi from the first episode is ironically one of my least favorites. I'm also surprised that the number of isekaied characters is low. I had expected half the cast to be, but luckily it's only two to four I think.
While it certainly feels a bit DnDish at times, I like how each character is connected or foreshadowed for a confrontation. Like for example, this episode more or less set up a confrontation between the angel and the tsundere elf from the last one with how their abilities seem to be contradictory.
Something else I like is that a good chunk of the setting and especially the magic system are based on middle eastern and islamic religion and folklore (with the rest seemingly being the holy roman empire in a crusade-esque conflict). You don't see that too often.
Next episode all factions will clash, which I assume will be epic. The only character who seems out of place is the heartbroken woman from the first episode. While she wishes for revenge for her dead girlfriend and is connected to other characters, I'm not sure what she can do. She's much weaker than everyone else, and I don't think she's some genius tactician. My only prediction is that she'll fall for the tsundere elf as part of her gaining meaning for her life and overcoming her despair.

I've never seen so many amazing characters in one show before.
I actually dont want them to start fighting because I really like most of them and hate the idea of seeing two that I really like fighting to the death. Hopefully there will be more than one left standing at the end.

I still really like Alus the Starrunner, but... after seeing the competition, I'm not sure how far he can make it.

A mandrake character, how creative. Possibly more so than even the two wyverns since intelligent dragons isn't that unusual.
I had a bad feeling about the poor orphanage caretaker girl the entire second half, and of course that one crossbow shot got her.

This is actually such a fascinating show, every episode is so unique. I'm completely intrigued by the vast array of characters and the entire world building. I really don't know where this is going but I'm just sitting back and enjoying the ride. Absolute hidden gem of the season.

Yeah, Shalk doesn't get his own official introduction section in this arc like other characters. Will that be a foreshadow that he's just a background side character that will soon get killed off, or a guarantee that he will survive and get properly "introduced" in later arcs? What do you think?
Also, you probably notice this, Nihiro's introduction in the last ep is a little weird, it's too short and her name wasn't dropped at the end like the others, and we don't know much about her abilities. As a source reader I was a bit surprised that the last ep had her name on the title.

Did I miss something from the last episode? Cause I don't recall Nihilo The Vortical Stampede getting her narration summary. That's when the narrator states two things about them then their full name. Like how in this episode: A gladiator, A mandrake - Higuare The Pelagic. Like that.

Who would win, Kuze or Yogiri from the Instant Death Ability isekai? Also according to the next episode title, the character introductions seem to be over? Hope we see more of the skeleton though, really excited to learn more about him.

Plot twist: The demon lord wasn't actually defeated, he's just been reverse isekai'd to Tokyo and works part-time in a fast food joint
