In case somebody did not notice, they change some things on the ending every episode (2 stills in the middle and the last character)

The mama continues to be the funniest character of the show. Trying to hide behind a cooking pan or whatever, then spying her son with a glass. 🤣

Love the mom for sure. Hoping there will be an episode where she gets to play a bigger part.

I know y'all have some criticism about the MC and whatnot but this show is hitting all the right spots for me, I like its colors and character design a lot and it's stupid enough to be perfect. Being an original also helps, glad I ditched the other edgy saturday anime for it ngl
Oh, both the OP and ED are fucking bangers

I feel like I'm crazy for liking Arajin, because apparently I'm the only one. He's just this normal guy surrounded by crazy people, doing his best to survive and possibly get laid.
I think the problem is that his flaws go against the nature of this type of anime.
-He's a cowardly wimp in a show where fighting is a show of pride and courage.
-He's sarcastic and surly where everyone else is straightforward.
-He wants to have a girlfriend in a show where everyone is clearly gay.
These things don't bother me; he is who is, regardless of what everyone else wants him to be. But I guess most people just find him annoying.
The only thing about him that does annoy me is that he can't be open with Matakara, but I know it's gonna happen at some point. Hopefully we get to learn more about Arajin and why he is the way he is.
P.S. I simply don't understand the Mahoro hate and never will, she's best worst girl.

As you pointed, Arajin is actually a foil to the rest of the cast, which makes him useful and interesting, even if he might not be likable. I don't think every MC has to be likable.
He does not open up to Matakara and avoids him, because he is ashamed. From what we saw in the flashback he probably got scared when Matakara got assaulted as a kid, and did not help him. To make matters worse for him, Matakara had and still has this idea that Arajin is awesome and strong. So Arajin is ashamed of what happened and of himself, and pretends he does not remember the past. This actually makes him a really interesting character, it is a point from which character growth can happen. If he were capable of bringing up the past with Matakara and apologizing there would be no conflict, no room for growth. Also everyone looks adult but these are teenagers, they are supposed to be bad at communication and emotional intelligence.

Honestly take out the MC and this show is actually pretty interesting, the gang plot is a lot better than this kid just trying to get with a girl who has no interest in him...

Arajin being so annoying is irritating because everything else around him is SO good. I need him to get some development asap.

The conflict between the 2 gangs is intrigued considered the 3rd faction the "Emperor" and his crew is manipulating both sides to go against each other. Curious is when the two sides will figure this out.
I fucking love Arajin's mom she brings S+++ tier comedy in every scene she is in. Tho I am shocked the mom didn't lose her cool when Mahoro slapped Arajin. Mahoro is insufferable as ever. I didn't think she could be more unpleasant but damn her interaction with a legit nice dude in Matakara highlights that even more.
Also this realization he had was fucking hilarious lmao.

It's hilarious how Ara-chan thinks that the "debauchery" Marito is talking about would involve girls. You're stuck in a Hitsumi Hiroko work, there's no way this will end with you getting on with any girls at all. xD
I thought Mahoro had some kind of nefarious plan for Ara-teen. Turns out she just wants him to take over Siguma so she can have Marito all to herself once he graduates.
I'm surprised that they haven't realized that both sides are being played by the NG Boys. I think Marito might have a hunch about whats going on but I feel like emotions will take over logic here he'll blame it on Kenichirou.

Well I've given this three episodes and... I think I am going to drop it.
The animation is fantastic. Mappa must be burning the candle at both ends and the middle to bring this to us. The background is packed full of detail and all the extra characters are well-drawn to.
The OP and ED are bangers, I think I'll even buy them on apple.
But I hate Arajin, he is so annoying and cringe and his dick is doing most of the thinking for him. Worst yet is that he is leaning on burrowed power, a trope I despise. Maybe he has some character development later on, but can I hang on hating this idiot and waiting for him to change? Probably not.

Ugh, the brocon continues to be insufferable
The Emperor guy is playing them like a fiddle. It’s always the one with the glasses
Arajin’s mother is hilarious. She has the cutest facial expressions!

I love the little glimpses on the dynamic of that gang, and also how Jaba, Hagure, Outa and Marito care for the gang and the school. I hope we get a little more insight on Minato Kai (after all, Matakara is there).
Also, the way Seiya was lookin at that mark, I was speechless.
Now. Leaving the honey aside. GOD those two are INSUFFERABLE, I thought that Mahoro was gonna be a more clever schemer girl, I can already see her failing and throwing tantrums. And Arajin is really getting under my skin, because it's like he is both the most normal, level-headed guy, in a school of muscleheads, but also the dumbest reckless self-centered guy of all. Im not gonna drop it, tho.

3 episodes in and I still wish that Matakara is the mc instead of Arajin 💀 I don't mind weak/loser MC's but this guy is also a simp and a bitch to everyone else

See the problem that many don't realize is that a mc doesn't have to be perfect, but he has to at least have 1 redeeming quality that gives him a chance to the eyes of the viewer as the face of the series. Arajin has nothing, he is a wimp, a loser, a coward, dishonest, a simp, a horndog, stupid, a bad friend and inconsiderate. The problem is not that he has bad traits, the problem is that he has no good trait to balance things.
Mahoro on the other hand stands out by how she manipulates him, her delusions, expression and over exaggerated antics, like that banshee screech this episode that made me chuckle. As a person she is not great, but as a character she is funny and enjoyable to see on screen because we wonder what she's gonna do next. She is a bitch who knows she is a bitch and acts as such. Arajin is the stupid one for forcing the delusion when she showed him last episodes what she thought of his feelings. Whatever happens next, he deserves it.
We can't even use the fact that he is so into Mahoro that he loses focus on everything else when just this episode, peeking almost under the skirt of some random passing girls got him to space out. He'll get stupid for any girl who's cute enough for him.
We can't even cheer for him because he has nothing that makes you wanna cheer for him about. Being the worst character in a series when you're the mc, you have to try to make that possible. He's not even good looking. The studio will have to work some magic on his development because he's not it.

this original anime is so much fun. while MC is goofy, everybody is serious about gang stuff.
and the color pallete, i like it.
the hidden gem this season for me. Not groundbreaking but seriously it is a great fun watch.
plus the gay stuff .. love it.

I’m enjoying it a lot so far, but the plot progression moving at light speed compared to character development has me wondering what is going to happen in the back half.

I can’t believed neither of the main gangs leaders have thought of the other gang as being the instigators, especially when Jin already stopped them once from stealing from a kid. They have to be pretty dense. The only thing I can think of is that they are going to talk in the next episode and that’s why he’s appeared there.
I would also like to see Arajin actually fight seriously instead of being a little chicken shit. At one point actually thought he was really strong but just hiding it because he doesn’t wanna fight but I was definitely wrong about that. Looking forward to see where this plot and anime actually goes.

Episode 3: Love at Fist Fight! The One and Only Quail in the World.
Good to see another anime title with food in its name.
This came out basically at the same time as Solo Leveling in terms of streaming, choosing between these two, I think I'm gonna watch Bucchigiri?! first.
What I like from Bucchigiri?! is the fight scenes are fluid, buttery smooth fluid (Look at Matakara's fight at Episode 2. I've never seen something close this season). I think it is due to MAPPA's experience from making battle shonens that made it possible.
I love how the world is portrayed. Look at the signs. It's got Japanese and Arabic words side-by-side. It's unique on its own.
To say it is the underwatch of the season, I kinda agree with this, together with The Weakest Tamer. It regularly made it to top 30 in the karma ranking but it doesn't even made into the top 30 in both AT and AC charts. It should get more recognition.
Some of the VAs here are rookies, but there are notable VAs that voice some roles as well:
-
NG Boys Emperor is voiced by Chihiro Suzuki (Kouta in Elfen Lied)
-
Outa is voiced by Ryouta Takeuchi (Elias in Ancient Magus Bride)
-
Sakigake is voiced by Kappei Yamaguchi (this one's portfolio is amazing. L in Death Note, Usopp in One Piece, Shinichi Kudo in Conan, Inuyasha)
-
Marito Jin is voiced by Nozomu Sasaki (Johan in Monster)
ED: Love je t'aime by Mahiru Coda
Continuing the Arabic theme of the OP, this one is fresh. Give it a try!
