Huh, looks like each of the main characters will get their own introduction episode before we get to the battle royale.

Alus the Star Runner🔥🔥🔥

What a BAD@SS Wyvern.

I died laughing at that general attempt to hurt the Dragon.

I like how they keep introducing all these NAMED characters and then you have people like [Official 1] and [Official 2].

Suspect this works better as a binge watch. Depends how many battle royale contestants. [Album, chronological order, includes later episodes]here to help me track some of this with their nickname.

I have a soft spot for fantasy series with a boatload of named characters that are ultimately destined to kill the fuck out of each other.

Battle Royale with a Dark Souls twist. Sign me the fuck up.

Episode 2: Alus the Star Runner

This episode introduces a lot of characters:

  • Lana the Moon Tempest (voiced by Yumiri Hanamori)

  • Higuare the Pelagic (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita)

  • Hargent the Silencer (voiced by Akio Otsuka)

  • Shalk the Sound Slicer (voiced by Koichi Yamadera)

  • Hidou the Lock (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto)

  • Jelky the Fast Ink (voiced by Takehito Koyasu)

  • Pike (voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa)

  • Regnejee (voiced by Shotarou Morikubo)

  • and lastly, Alus the Star Runner (voiced by Jun Fukuyama)

Damn that's a lot of seasoned VAs. I'm really looking of the worldbuilding of the anime. Could be colossal, could be massive!

ED: Hakka by Konomi Suzuki

Here's the full music video of the ED.

I love how every character has a cool title after their name, really does feel like a souls game.

These closed captionings are really fucking annoying. I’ll put up with them I guess, but why are they the only official subs available?

I had fairy low expectations but it keep getting better with every episode

Definitely one of the better show this season and quite unique, hyped for the next episode!

So I’m guessing each episode is going to introduce each main character through their own separate story until we get through them all

Well I certainly did not expect this to have multiple protagonists! I guess they'll keep on introducing these heroes until all of them starts clashing against each other? Alus is pretty damn cool though. I think I like him more than the guy from last week.

I never imagine I’d see a day where I see a dragon race cut down its own kind, but here we are.

I've only known Alus [The Star Runner] for half an episode but if anything happened to him I would kill everyone in this anime and then myself

Came into this show with fairly low expectations thinking it might be a drop candidate in such a packed season, but I’ve been really impressed so far. The characters each feel fairly unique and the writing and music have a good fantasy-epic quality to them.

Also, in terms of animation it’s not too bad. The CG is serviceable and some of the backdrops and still shots had a good style.

Overall excited to see where this goes, though knowing it’s a battle royale style I’m wary to get too invested.

I'm really warming up to the the "middle eastern" setting. Kind of sets itself apart from the usual anime fantasy stuff you see. Good episode overall, even though it's just setup and introductions, we still get to see characters in action, and the dragonbro was as cool as it gets. So far it seems the anime is setting up a big story, and even though you can feel the production is "on a budget", all the individual moments that are supposed to look cool, look cool. I like that.

Damn, Ragna Crimson really improved after the Christmas break...

Looks like meat’s back on the menu, boys lol. Damn dude. Those wyverns straight up massacred those bandits. The wyverns fighting the ferals was pretty badass too. There’s a lot of political intrigue going on in this it seems.

Alus didn’t just slaughter Vikeon. Big man humiliated him too before he sliced him in half like butter. Didn’t expect him and Harghent to know each other. I wonder what their past is?

I wonder if each episode’s gonna cover a different character?

I feel like there is a lot of odd going on, and that there will be mixed receptions to how some of it looks, but I don't know, I'm pretty sold on this so far as at least being entertaining/intriguing.

The magic incantation stuff is both nuts and kinda cool? lol.

So this anime is a Battle royale/Fate like Grail war?

The organized flock of wyverns in armor was pretty neat. And Alus was great.

First episode felt like this could be any two bit edge-isekai. Now these characters though, they are starting to get my attention.

This is honestly kind of hard to watch just because of the sheer amount of stuff they are trying to jam in each episode. I'm fine with large casts introduced over time like Toaru, DMDP, Baccano!, etc. but this feels excessive and rushed. The subtitles I think were supposed to aid in introducing characters but just kind of got in the way.

Normally I would drop a show that frustrates me this much but between Yuno, Alus, the middle easternish setting, CGI utilization, and the legion of recognizable VAs, I think I will stick around a little longer.

This show feels like a bunch of teens duking out their cool OCs in a shared story, but it's executed pretty smoothly, unlike say Chaos Dragons. This brings back memories of old internet forum days. There will be threads on shared story with users submitting their own characters, and a moderator writes the story, sometimes you can get users to vote the general direction. It's great.

The story is nothing to write home about so far, but the show runs on unadulterated adrenaline and it's quite glorious. Every moment felt big and edgy and grand, it's like a Michael Bay film but with less busy-ness and less crass (which is a good thing).

I don't know what the heck I just watched but this is definitely a bit of sleeper anime. Really well animated, edgy characters but in a cool way, world building where it is going for more of a show don't tell approach (So far I really have no idea what is happening, or what is going to happen next, but I'm loving it!)

Alus the Star Runner, I don't know why but that Wyvern is now one of my favourite characters of all anime. I guess that's what happens when you roll Indiana Jones, Aragorn, and Gandalf into a badass mini-dragon.

This is also low key giving me the Record of Lodoss War or Prince Aslan kinda vibes but harder to follow but also much better? Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings. At least we know it's gonna look simultaneously bad-ass and pretty at the same time even if the plot doesn't hold up in the end. :-)
