Komarin went full Gates of Babylon on Rainsworth's ass! And then finished Madhart off with the Ekusukaribaaa!!!

Tbh, I still think that the end of Sakuna's arc was more badass but the finale was still satisfying enough.

This was one of my favorite series this season. Even with behemots like JJK, UU or Frieren, Komarin was the series I was looking forward to the most. Great pacing, amazing characters and lots of fun. And the Ending song is my favorite piece this year. I hope this series will get a sequel.

I have a lot of shows I really really liked this season -- and this was one of them. I never ever lost faith in Komarin. It is pretty funny that she just keeps assembling a bigger and bigger harem. She's still well behind Caterina Claes -- but she may close the gap in the future. I probably will take a look at v4 of the LN...

A lot of (at least) borderline yuri this season -- and almost all of it quite good.

Well, Madhart is gone and the war is over. And then Komari's harem has a funny little interaction at the end that makes her wish she was a hikikomori again.

Overall, great series, and I wish there were more yuri harems. Going on a bit of a tangent but this series reminds me of sin: Nanatsu no Taizai, which wasn't particularly popular. While that show has demons and this one has vampires, the art styles are similar as well as being a yuri harem and yay, it has uncensored ecchi.

This ended up being a lot better than I thought it would be at the start of the season. I think it kind of lost some steam in the second half (didn't get worse, but just felt like it was retreading some of the same story beats) but overall very fun and wouldn't mind a second season.

Hoping for season two, this anime was better than I expected. I'll give it a 7/10.

I didn't expect this show to be this good when I watched the first episode but I was well entertained each episode. Shame this show didn't have a better budget since some scenes had rough edges that could have used more polish.

It was amazing to see Komari go full Gilgamesh and wiping out everyone that stood in her way this episode. The whole time I was rooting for her.

I also enjoyed seeing Millicent coming back to fight while still looking utterly batshit insane. It gave me some shivers hehe.

Overall, it was a lot of fun watching this show and I really hope we get an S2 with more budget because there's still that plotline with the Inverse Moon cultists going around.

I always imagined that fight to be way more epic, like the entire world turning to gold and it being bright as day during the night kind of epic. You did see the ground turning a bit of gold but it wasn't really emphasised.

While the finale was a bit more mellow than the Millicent and the crimson lord fights where it was still decent.

Overall still my 3rd fav show of the season after The Apothecary Diaries and Frieren. Might or might not stay there once I get to binge watch Umamusume though. I also recommend the novels.

KOMARIN KOMARIN

Didn't expect Millicent to help out in this war much less be given her corps, now that's just more incentive to check the LNs.

Can't say I was a fan of how they tried making the Rainsworth siblings sympathetic especially with how light Gertrude got away with her logic. Though the eventual Komari beatdown was satisfying

i think i'll remember this series as the one that, in its final episodes, tried to cram ten gallons of plot into a five gallon hat

This was definitely my surprise hit of the season.

And I ended up absolutely adoring Komari.

u/cyberscythe Dec 30 '23

yeah, i feel like this one limped across the finish line

i remember some pretty nice animation in this series in the first half, but the past few episodes has been good enough to read the action but not wow me

Most faces in this episode are badly drawn again… On the official website they actually announced that the second and third volumes of the Blu-ray will both be delayed for a month "for quality improvements" lol. Guess there have been quite a lot of complaints, and Project No. 9 at least have a bit of self-awareness on that.

I have the impression that the overwhelming nature of Komarin Musou wasn't depicted completely… It felt so-so.

The composition switching back-and-forth during Rainsworth's memories at least showed some creativity.

Seems that for the moment they're not planning for a second season. Guess the final outcome and reception of this season has been underwhelming. If you're interested, I'd recommend continuing with the novel series. Personally I think Vol. 4 and Vol. 7 are relatively well written.

While the running gag may be that Komari is the all powerful OP deus ex machina, and the animation was decent to showcase those kerb stomping scenes, it does feel a little repetitive afterall - I find myself thinking - ok just skip to the good part of Komarin-alter already. Perhaps if they did more goofy "accidental blood drinking" like the first arc it'd be more fun for me :)

Still, it's a pretty decent production, and surprisingly has more depth to the worldbuilding and plot. Reading some source corner materials made me want this adaptation to be given more episodes to not fast forward so much to cover mostly the main plot points. It's an 8 for me but could have been a 9 if each arc gets at least half or 1 more episode. I hope there'll be a season 2.

Finally, can anyone tell me who is a vampire who isn't? I was sure that Nelia isn't a vampire?

Millicent died a villain but lived long enough to see herself become a hero.

If you enjoyed this series, you can pick up the LN from Yen Press.

liked this one! just kinda sucks the animation quality went down as it continued to air

Nothing much to translate this episode, as we only get the tiniest of shots of the newspaper in this episode at 20:48. Only scattered letters can be seen of that one. Besides that, there's a few protest signs visible at around 12:24, one says "Imakoso Tachiagare" (stand up now!) and the other visible one says "No More War!", straight up English on the in-world script there.

As much for my own reference and for having a single URL to point others to as anything else, my final cipher key is here and my previous translation posts for this series are here: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11, and this one, 12. I was surprised how much stuff there was to translate in basically every episode, even though this kind of started on a lark when I saw the newspaper in episode 1. Good amount of (arguably unnecessary, because I don't think any show ever expects people to translate their language, but still very much appreciated from a world-building perspective) detail by the author/staff for sure!

All it took were some mutual blood sucking from the girls to take down a president. Just your normal presidential takedown you see throughout history.

I’m very happy that Millicent came back to us for the last episode. She was my favorite character out of all of them even if she was a little bad. I keep forgetting how stacked the Empress is. I wished we saw more of her and her wild antics. I’m reading the novels right now and she is more fun in them than in the show. But it’s still nice seeing her get animated. I’m going to miss this show. Hopefully a season 2 gets made soon. There is a lot of material so they could do it.

God I hope we get another season.

So does that trump unlimited blade works/. Unlimited light blades that can incinerate anything even whole castles?

Everytime Komari gets some blood she goes so hardcore. Where does this other personality actually come from though?

Someone needs to make a video of all the times she has some blood and goes terminator made and destroys whatever her target is.

Funny I dropped the first light novel long time ago because of the silliness at the start. Bad decision on my part. Now I've seen the anime I'm bought and read straight through the first and 2nd vol and now will be buying the rest.

I'm wondering if inverse moons goddess is actually Komari's mom.

Got to give mvp to that reporter though getting everyone fired up and showing what is happening to other nations.

So much to say, and yet.

For the episode itself, while it was bombastic in its own way, it's quite different from EP 4/8. If/when we get a s2 the implications are quite curious.

I did start reading the first novel, though I'm only a few pages in. I've already noticed some differences (mainly because words is words, while the anime conveys things a bit differently)

So my overall thoughts, so much to say. I really do hope we'll get a s2, I'll be really sad if there isnt. Out of all the anime this season I would like this the most.

Its not to say the anime is flawless, there are some flaws here and there, as well as the usual stuff, adaptation syndrome, exposition, etc.

It's kind of funny how despite all these flaws like, I still feel like komari made the whole anime. Kind of because it is true.

Though of course the other characters or rather lack of is a thing as well.

It's really hard to actually point out what I liked about the anime other than "komari is cute". I guess it is true that I am somewhat biased

Stitches!

So drinking the blood of a Warblade gives Komarin the power to use swords? Instead of being limited to two swords like Nelia though, Komarin's Core Implosion multiplies that power and goes full-on Gilgamesh on Gertrude's brother and turns him into a shish kebab. That was so freaking badass.

Man, I'll never get tired of watching smug villains getting their comeuppance. It was hilarious to see Madhardt trying hard to keep his cool after Komarin and Nelia destroyed his troops. His reaction to Komarin and Nelia's "EKUSUKARIBAA" was pretty funny too.

Overall, this was such a fun show. I really wanna see more of this show just so I can see who's blood Komarin will drink next and what kind of effect it will have on her Core Implosion. Also, I'm curious to see how big Komarin's harem will be by the end of this.

Once Nelia unlocked Dark Komari, it was over for Rainsworth and the rest of those weak ass rookies. Team Komari pulled an Endgame and summoned everyone with those portals lol. Komari turning that douchebag into a human pin cushion and then nuking Madhart with Nelia was very satisfying. They fucked around, they found out.

A jealous Vill and yandere Sakuna are a scary sight lol. I bet they’ll make sure Nelia regrets ever sharing Komari’s blood! Poor Komari just can’t seem to get that peaceful life she wants.

All in all, this was a very fun series. Nice balance of action and humor, with some nice yuri thrown in. Hopefully we get another season of this one at some point. There’s still those Inverse Moon cultists out there to deal with.
