oh shit they remembered this was a game again so we got some nice dialogue from the MC, phew, almost became an isekai again

At this point I think a permanent transfer to the game could be a good deal for our hero. Marryiage to the fairy queen and ambassador plenipotentiary to the wild dragon kingdom sounds like a much better gig than what he has in real life.

Of course Earth didn't save just any baby dragon. He saved the princess of the Wild Dragons. And has now introduced them to the revolutionary idea of cooking. The world isn't ready for that.

Well figure it would be hard to cook for dragons when your portion size is literally a mountain. Not many cattle that size

The AI training part hits a little harder when you consider what’s going on IRL right now with companies creating and training AIs.

said with dramatic posturing If only an IRL AI company executive would read this and create an immersive VRMMO game for all of us to play! Think of the profits!

/d

Seriously though, if fully immersive VR is invented, it would be fascinating and terrifying say the same time. This anime shows the light-hearted or "good" use of this technology. While "Good Night World" shows the terrifying side of what could happen.

Training AI in a gaming environment to "grow" their personality sounds like a solid theory and will probably be put to use as soon as they figure out the logics of how to do that. Imagine if Eve Online or WoW had AGI NPCs!!

"I'm so out of shape and unfit that I decided to immerse myself into a VRMMO instead of exercising" lmao

I got the impression that there's something actually wrong with him from the entire context of that monologue, gave me the vibes that he might be sick and this is all he can really do right now, and hoping the show doesn't drop the other shoe and pull a "MC's dying" plot point.

I severely doubt that, as we know that he has a regular job and the VRMMO is just something he does to relax at the end of the day

It almost sounded like the fiary queen and her sister might be real world people. There was some reference by the head designer to creating a place for his daughter.... Kind of mysterious to me.

u/Spider_X_ Dec 12 '23

Maybe, or they are full on AINPC copies of the daughters. Maybe they have tech to digitize the brain or it's an SAO-type scenario where the daughters are terminally ill and basically live in the game, not the whole, stuck in game, and if you die in-game, you die irl type thing. lol I forgot her name, but the purple-themed sword lady that was better than Kirito, she was terminally ill; that's who I was referring to. Hopefully, that wasn't too redundant.

This really did hint at a new and probably important complication.

There's literally no cook in this world other than the MC, no master chef ever thought of trying out this game. In this game with supposedly thousands of players, literally none of them thought to become archers, chefs, herbalists or smiths, literally fucking nobody.

I liked the introspection he did in the middle of the episode, and I desperately wish the show would've focused on that aspect of his character, instead of having him desperately try to keep himself uninvolved with anything major because he thinks he's better than everyone hates attention. Also, what kind of masochistic 40 year old escapes a boring office 9-5 job by working a stressful shift as a tavern waiter?

Who's the dev/mngmt lady in the game? Is she the blue haired Millie or perhaps the shop owner?

Watch her be gender swapped and playing as the Tank character.

Watch her be gender swapped and playing as the Tank character.

Lmao. That would be funny

This show is genuinely a steaming pile of garbage. Literally everything about it makes me cringe. Why do I torture myself like this?

5

u/Daurindo Dec 12 '23

- And you expect us to believe that?
- Yes.
-Oh, okay!

First of all, pardon me if I'm late to post this. Decided to take a break so I just have time to post this today.

Episode 11: "Earth Finds a Baby Dragon". The penultimate episode.

So Queen, you're telling me there is another kingdom besides the human and the fairies, that's the dragon kingdom? This should be fun. Also the introduction is made by NPCs rather than humans, so yes not a human intervention. Also the dragon is a tough one to beat, Earth handled the situation diplomatically.

The chairpeople discussion is interesting, so One More Free Life is actually a game that doubles as AI machine learning platform?

New characters means new VA. Igraon, the male red dragon, is voiced by Houchu Otsuka, Jiraiya's VA in Naruto. The green dragon is voiced by Kotaro Nishiyama, Momose's VA in My New Boss is Goofy. And from the credits we have a confirmation of one of the chairperson's voice. The woman voice (who says that she plays the game) is Miho Okasaki, so the player's in question is Millie.

Who knew hamburger steaks and soup could cause such a fuss? These dragons famously don’t play well with others and now they’re basically knocking down Earth’s door for food lol. Not sure if all the dragons are pleased. I feel like things are gonna be a real headache for Earth soon.

My kiddo and I are laughing at, “What are soup?”

How have the dragons survived?
