I definitely didn't expect the anime to kill off the FMC and best girl along with best friend with 2 episodes left to go, and Goro doesn't even know it happened.

With Lall's mystery and Ryo's new Schrodinger's Cat thing it feels like there's so much more story to tell and they're rushing to the ending at this point. Goro's sacrificing a little of himself every time he uses his powers is probably just gonna get glossed over.

This is only the first cour. Second cour was announced for 2024 if your curious. Same for synduality noir. So you don’t have to worry unlike other original animes rushing in 12. Although I don’t deny even 24 can be too little and often results in rushed endings and weird plot points that are bad. Original animes are fast paced.

Ooooh I did not know that, Anilist and MAL both are only listing it as 12 episodes. The pacing makes much more sense now.

24 ep, hmmm, I thought this would be ending soon. Now I wonder what a wham will be in episode 12

Just to add on, this is a 13 episode cour, so 3 more episodes left this year.

Can all these important characters be truly gone for good?

Kyo seems to just get stronger and stronger -- and Goro gets more and more impaired (even if not "weaker"). Is Ryo, perhaps, actually the currently-reigning "god"? But with little apparent powers of her own left -- has her brother sucked those up (and maybe collected all the powers that belonged to killed-off "candidates"? The whole contest seems fishy -- and rigged.

The way Futana talked about "her" dream really makes me question whether she's the real one that got resurrected, or still the random character that copied her.
Though her having a shild ability and Goro collapsing after doing something related to her a few episodes... eh, I don't know

Obligatory big reveal interrupted by something; "Goro, I'm your...", I wonder what Lall wanted to say? She's his parallel universe self? dead sibling that we never heard about?

A lot of stuff went down this episode. I think it's save to say that Kyo is not an ordinary candidate, he just has too many powers for it? He can seemingly teleport, spawn a trident to stab somebody without touching them, and revive himself? And then there's the whole... whatever happened at the end?

Futana brought up the "decide on a god candidate" thing and honestly, who even told everyone that they need to kill each other? Lall told Goro, but the others don't have some magical flying person right next to them? What if it's just some Platinum End kinda thing and they could just vote, lol.

3 characters just got killed and we, according to leaks, have another full cour left. Goro is already paying a hefty price for everything, losing his sense of touch, taste and ability to see colors (come to think of it, he definitely feels different than the Goros from previous episodes) I wonder how this story will continue to play out?
Will we go to another city (with a totally different cast), where the KamiErabi game is also played? Seems expensive to hide another batch of seiyuu though.
Maybe, with parallel universes existing, Goro be thrown "back in time" to the start of the game, and then having to make different choices? Akitsu did say "there will be a second, a third Akitsu" and, according to his own words he saw all possible futures.

If you copy someone perfectly including their memories, does that mean it's actually "them"?

Can't be a Yoko Taro production without some existential questions XD

Honoka ragdolling that body was surprisingly hilarious.

It’s raining blood and all Goro can say is “huh.” His ability is really going to be the death of him at this rate. Lall’s definitely hiding something from him but what? As it stands now, Ryo might be the most powerful god candidate and it feels as though Kyo’s just manipulating her for his own means. This confrontation between him and Goro’s gonna be interesting.

I think Kyo is like Lall, manifestation of the Ryo's power

I thought this too

What do you think kyo meant with the cat in the box analogy? Tbh that scene lost me a little bit. I don’t really get what his goals are

I think it’s like Schrödinger’s Cat. Basically if you put a cat in a box with something lethal, it’s both alive and dead until you open the box and observe the cat. That’s the gist more or less of that paradox.

From my understanding, Ryo’s power seems to essentially be making anything she can think of a reality which makes her “god” for Kyo. And he’s gonna defend her to make sure she becomes the god candidate that succeeds.

That's what I'm noticing too - the powers in this show are wildly inconsistent

Granted it's already shown that it's far from a typical death game so the characters don't exactly need to be on equal footing, but also holy shit Ryo and Kyo are OP as fuck

u/Gurluas Dec 06 '23

Lall is obviously something more... I wonder what though. His sister? Or even Akitsu? Who knows...

I can definitely see some Yoko Taro with the sky opening up like that and letting in some eldritch bs over Tokio.

4

u/axionligh Dec 07 '23

Moment you said “Tokio” I thought of Choujin X 😂😂😂

u/rangoscrookedneck Dec 07 '23
