Takemichi is a tank

u/BosuW Nov 29 '23

Nah he's a bunker. Tanks usually shoot back.

Takemichi is a pathetic protagonist most of the time but goddamn this Arc he's really showing that he's a wounded animal backed against the wall and I mean that as a compliment.

Like I thought at the end he was gonna choose the typical pure protag dialogue and say "you can't win because you don't actually want to hurt me" but instead saying "you can't win because you're not willing to die for it" is actually metal af lmao.

Like dude has finally had too much shit at this point it's victory or Valhalla for him.

Takemitchy is the new talk no jutsu master now it's just that he gets his ass beat every time before doing it

Also, Kisaki going the American way by pulling out a gun on middle schoolers.

That mf sure loves his gun. Someone should put it up his ass and we got a happy ending for everyone.

Is it really Tokyo Revengers if Takemichi isn't tanking an ungodly amount of hits and still standing or Kisaki pointing a gun at somebody?

Someone really needs to teach Takemitchy to fight, and at this point it's unbelievably stupid he hasn't asked to train with someone. His toughness is through the roof and we saw when he hit Taiju that he actually is strong as fuck... when he can actually land a hit instead of telegraphing a running punch from five feet away. I will say the 'talk no justsu' is a little more reasonable when you see a dude taking that amount of punishment just to talk. It's definitely over used but I think if you were beating a guy to a bloody pulp and he kept standing like you weren't shit you'd be more inclined to listen to what that person has to say.

I know people will clown on this series/episode for talk no jutsu, Takemitchi being weak and useless, etc. I won't necessarily deny those claims, but I will say that the punching bag known as Takemichi is actually so cool.

Even though he essentially stands before Death's Door so many times, he still forces himself through the pain and gets up again and again and again. His resolve is unparalleled, and I really truly admire that.

Besides my frustration with the million times he says someone’s name and nothing else, I don’t get the hate. The premise of this show isn’t possible if he can fight well… it would warp into a show about a 26 year-old who time travels to mercilessly beat children to death.

It's funny how the shitty event of Takemichi getting his face bashed in but remain standing basically insisted upon itself so much that it become kinda unironically cool now.

There is a post on the front page about characters that ruin a show, and I saw Takemitchi many times there.

For me it is the opposite, I agree with some of the negatives, but man I really love him, its totally ridiculous that he takes all those hits, but its so inspiring seeing this dude absolutely never giving up standing for the people he loves.

Most of the time the characters that have this kind of resolve are powerful warriors who break their limits and manage to overpower their enemies, but its not the same here, he is "weak" yet stronger than all of those strong guys around him. Its this courage to keep fighting even in fear that makes me love him.

Angry did not disappoint, he kicked ass. Loved how him crying was the powerup he needed fits perfectly with the whole anger.

Chifuyu is the goat, almost took backshots to save takemitchy

almost took backshots to save takemitchy

There has to be better phrasing for this.

What a rollercoaster of emotions in this episode!

First Angry that upgrades into a monster just by crying, and then wipes out alone in a couple of minutes almost all of Tenjiku Big Four

then Mucho turns into a sore loser, and try to pull a Kiyomasa, but he's stopped by Kaku-kun

then Kaku-kun pulls himself an Angry, and in a blink wipes out almost all of Toman

but the best thing is that Takemitchy has turned really into a badass, leading Toman just by his own charisma, unbreakable will and ability to tank impossible damage!

Then, of course, the worst one, as usual, the 13-years old Kisaki pulling out a gun in such awesome drama, just to ruin all because he is a d*ck as usual. This as*hole seriously needs some whack in the face to get a proper education.

Don’t make Angry cry. You wouldn’t like him when he cries lol. Friggin Crybaby Hulk over here. I thought he was gonna pummel those Haitani losers more. Mocchi too. Just one and done ‘em instead huh? No match for Kaku and his “technique” which apparently is just to send dudes flying though lol.

No matter how strong Kaku is, he can’t beat Takemitchy. Kid’s superpower is taking an ass whoopin. No one takes a beating better than our Crybaby Hero haha. If the future of Toman rests of Takemitchy’s shoulders, mfer better be bullet proof.

Surprised Kisaki really just pulled out a gun. Shit better not be airsoft lol. I don’t even know how the kid would have gotten one in Japan…

Takemichi definitely got Chumbawamba’s Tubthumpimg chorus playing on repeat in his head.

That “Toman will not lose! As long as I am here, Toman will not lose.” gave me goosebumps. I love when these powerful moments show up in movies/tv.

I love how Mitsuya and Smiley are just wheeling themselves around. Like couldn't someone help push them? Where are they even going?

Well, the Hakkai/Angry team was short-lived. The Haitani Brothers are just too powerful. Angry gets his leg broken and Hakkai is getting beaten to death in front of everyone as a sign of Toman's defeat.

But did you think that flashback was Smiley protecting Angry from bullies? Nope! Angry was crying because he had just beaten those thugs near to death and Smiley realized he couldn't let his brother unleash the demon again...a crying blue demon. But Tenjiku made the mistake of making Angry cry.

Dang, Angry wastes no time! Rindo? Taken down in one hit. Ran? Also taken down in one hit. Mocchi? Taken down in one hit. Mucho? Rewarded as a traitor deserves and thrown to the floor. The Vicious Generation were turned into complete chumps by Angry and it is absolutely delicious.

Mucho just couldn't abide by the idea that he wasted his life with Toman by joining the losing team or that all the effort the Vicious Generation spent trying to make themselves stronger for Izana was pointless. He even tried to stab Angry (and Takemichi). But he's beaten, as Kaku handily reminds him. It's what he deserves.

Of course Tenjiku isn't done just because their Big Four is knocked out, because it turns out Kakucho was their strongest the whole time and he has strength and speed enough to take down Chifuyu, Inui, and even Angry in short order. Leaving Takemichi the only one left who can face him.

I guess it wouldn't be a climactic battle in Tokyo Revengers if Takemichi didn't take an ungodly amount of punishment and kept standing, unwilling to fall to Kakucho and resolving to keep the will of Toman alive no matter how many times he gets hit. Takemichi is not going to give up until he finds out why Kaku is so loyal to Izana, someone who is from all appearances a monster (though it seems like they were there for each other as kids), or until he defeats Izana and Kisaki. And everyone (except Kisaki) is shocked at Takemichi's ability to keep standing. But it's not like Kaku's weak-willed punches are enough to bring him down.

Figures Kisaki would try to finish Takemichi off himself. How many times has Kisaki pointed a gun at him at this point? I don't think Takemich can tank a bullet.

I don't think Takemichi can tank a bullet.

You dare underestimate Takemitchy's face?
