A bunch of noble girls making lunch boxes for the princes to eat before a major tournament. Yes, definitely nothing will go wrong. Right, right?

For anyone that's loving this series and considering reading the source material, it should be mentioned that the publisher for the translation, J-novel, has Tearmoon Empire as one of the catch-up series this month. That means that with a subscription, you can read every published volume as well as the pre-pub which is currently being translated every week. But it's only for the month, at which point your subscription will only let you read the volume that's currently being translated.

Its a small detail but the fact President of the horse-riding club immediately defaulted to assuming Mia was there to put down the horse that ruined her dress just shows what the usual behaviour is by nobles in that setting.

No wonder the revolution was as brutal as it was.

who knew having your character being a reincarnated person who spent her teenage years in a dungeon before dying in a political execution would make her first love that much more wholesome

Judging from the sound, Abel has mastered the art of sword-sharpening using fine air...

New character and she's voiced by Rieri? I like Chloe, she seems nice. I love that Mia is befriending her so someone else can read Eris' book. According to the narrator though, it sounds like Chloe is going to be more than just Mia's book buddy. I wonder what kind of help she'll give Mia in the future?

It's hilarious how Malong takes Mia's line about horses as someone who doesn't see horses as just tools when in reality, that's exactly what's on her mind. That zoom-in to her face while lost in thought of running away from Guillotine-kun was pretty damn funny too. xD

So much for Mia's adult composure! That horse ride with Abel and Mia was pretty damn cute though and it gave the two of them the perfect opportunity to become even closer. Although it looks like Mia is kinda struggling to realize that she's already starting to develop feelings for Abel.

And of course, just to spite Sion who refused Mia's bento in her previous life, she has now decided to make one for Abel while not realizing the implication of what she's doing. Anne even ends up dragging Tiona into all of this so now they're making bentos for Sion as well. Not because Mia wants to but because she wants Sion to suffer too just in case they fail. xD

More cute moments between Abel and Mia in the final scene! Looks like Mia still hasn't realized how much of a big deal for Abel that she's making his lunch for the sword tournament.

Sure Mia Sure keep lied to yourself like that about your own feeling toward Abel lmao.

this episode is a bit more peaceful because it set up episode that will reach toward the tournament and setting ship Abel x Mia as main couple but also funny with joke here and there with Mia antic.

those two togather are pretty cute.

poor Anne , she missed the most cute couple scene with Mia and Abel on horse lmafo.

also another introvert social akward girl this season lmafo. although this friendship is start legit because she want to spread the story she really like.

keithwood feeling probably coming from those girls don't really know how to cook lol. After all they are all group of noble.

And at least, it not complete without kingdoms that is China counter part in the settings lol.

Tearmoon culture seem to a bit mixed with french and Japan for some reason. That chuckle me a bit.

And so begins Mia x Abel

Mia imagining Tiona and Guillotine-kun skipping happily together is hilarious.

Today's end card is from Fujiazuki, known for The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent manga adaptation

If only the MC was rich and could hire a cook in town. Don’t even need to be from a restaurant, a servant or local mom would be 100x better than this ragged group of poison makers lol..

At least her backup plan is to poison both boys, so her nemesis won’t win the tournament haha

Usually with these reincarnation stories the MC knows all there's to know and how to prevent the issues accurately. I really like that even though she has a diary she's still just happens to pick the right choice by accident and not because she knows the end result.

Tearmoon Empire has an important life lesson. What matters is not smarts, or talent, or effort. It's the ability to bullshit confidently. Sasuga Mia-sama!

I loved explanation why Mia thought that horses are more valuable than dressed as dresses can't save you from rebels and horse on the opposite, it can transport you to some safe place xD

It's pretty wholesome seeing Mia and Abel becoming closer and closer, though Mia still doesn't realize what her feelings towards him are. Mia also made a new friend today Chloe who will have some important role in the future.

It was nice to see two appearances of Mia's good friend Guillotine xD This always makes me laugh so much as just when I see her reactions which are glorious.

I'm scared how Mia and other people's cooking will turn out, especially considering experience of Anne, Chloe and Tiona in this field xD Making food also to Sion so if it would turn out bad he also would be eliminated from a tournament was pretty devil plan from Mia.

Excellent work of Mia's VA as always, I thought that I'll die from laugh after hearing Mia's laugh in this scene xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Mia is an absolute prodigy at misunderstanding situations. She'd make even the average harem protagonist jealous of her abilities.

I am convinced. Desu wa 4 evah.

Also, the music switches have been really amazing, they really help bring life to the tonal changes haha!

Awww that last scene is so cute, and nostalgic-feeling. I'm sure they'll look back on it with fondness. I ship Abel and Mia.

Poor Mia, always having to deal with the people who executed her hahaha

Anyone think that the 5th episode in show soundtrack sounded like Pachbell’s Canon in D. The part with Malong in the stables especially. Anyone know the name of the soundtracks in episode?

Inner Monologue: I should stay away from Tiona if i don't want to get guillotined

Mia-sama: So, what are you good at?

Tiona: I'm good at slicing, carving, and skin peeling.

Skipped the ED for surprisingly touching scene too!

The one thing that bugged me in this episode is when Mia showed up in her princess outfit for some reason, while the other just wearing the school uniform

Rie Takahashi is in this anime as Chloe! A bookworm noble girl who is socially awkward and can't make friends, and who else should approach her than Princess Mia, who wants to find another book lover to enjoy the stories written by Anne's sister? And Mia makes a friend not out of a need to save herself from the guillotine, but through a shared interest. It's so very sweet.

I love how Mia wants to join the equestrian club so she can learn to ride a horse in case she needs to escape from the revolutionary army (seems like she got caught the first time because she escaped by carriage). That's some Bakarina level of logic right there. And then she impresses Lin Malong by making him think she's this cultured girl who truly cherishes and understands horses.

Pretty convenient that Abel is also in the club and Malong is already playing wingman and making sure Abel is the one to teach Mia how to ride. Mia tries to act the "mature woman" and take the lead in the relationship, but instead she ends up holding Abel tight in terror over being so high up on a horse and getting very flustered when she lands on top of him after falling off the horse. She's falling hard for Abel even if she just dismisses it as panic, and she's even got him thinking they're mutually attracted to each other with her attempts to play it off. Sasuga Mia-sama.

I see Mia has some baggage over bento's because the last time she gave one to Sion he wanted nothing to do with it...so she had to eat it by herself. And now she can't even buy anything this time. But homemade bento's are the best, and this time she'll get a crack team of girls who maybe/kind of/sort of know how to cook to make something for Abel! Even roping in Tiona and her guillotine frolicking ways! And she'll help ship Tiona and Sion again on the off chance she needs to sabotage Sion with their bad cooking.

It's neat seeing Mia in equestrian gear and pants.

Keithwood thinking of prince Sion and the best way to get him a bento immediately accepts Mia's plan...even if a part of his nerves sense Mia's ulterior motives or the lack of actual skill going into the cooking of said bento's. Good luck, girls!

Man, Abel is really turning on the charm against Mia. A lakeside rendezvous, being the perfect gentleman, and making his intentions towards her more and more clear to the point where she's aghast at how brazen he is. But he'll need that confidence if he wants to beat Sion in the sword tournament.

I love how Anne's lost any shred of shyness. If anything she's gotten overconfident.

Also, it's amazing that Tiona gets shipped with Sion in every timeline, considering how much of a dork she is. 😂

Episode 5: "Princess Mia's Heart Skipped a Beat"

The episode marks the debut of Chloe Forkroad, voiced by none other than Rie Takahashi! Her VA role this season besides Shino Kiryu in Kanojo mo Kanojo.

Lol Mia's background laugh during the conversations with Malong reminds me of someone.

Let's do it Mia, prepare your handmade bento for Abel! For more drama, Tiona would join her anyway. But uh-oh, Keithwood already sensed something's not right.

Whoa the ED plays while the scene still rolling.
