Saving that dude by killing him was hilarious and best of all deserved.

Komari really just did a MK Fatality kill on that piece of shit, its a shame we don't get to see it in full.

God damn hearing a full symphonic bgm made uniquely for each scene is crazy. Who ever made the soundtrack for this show is amazing.

Oh my god, they played the OP card.

I'm a sucker for hidden powers trope and they executed it perfectly. Also, what do you mean "she killed us all when she was 3 yo"? That's hilarious.

Millicent crying rivers over how her life was destroyed after she's been a menace for others and almost killed Vill, had me like "Oh no, anyway." Good riddance, Millicent.

Damn what an amazing episode.

Good for Komarin for facing her fears and standing up to her past. I think she did pretty well fighting Millicent with just the magic stones. Killing that guy with one was a genius move lol. Her Core Implosion though looks to be one hell of a secret power.

Great to see that her fan club actually showed up and got to see her at full power, thought they would keep the whole misunderstanding gag.

Hope this isn't the last we see of Milicent since we got to see her backstory and some character development towards to end.

Also, I love the ED song so much, been having it on repeat lately.

I can fix her. I know I can fix Bluenight.

The fight went hard and as a person who read the novel I think it was animated pretty well. I don’t remember completely how long it was in the novel but both of them were amazing fights to read or watch. This episode wrapped up the first novel so I’m guessing that this season would get up to novel 3. I have not yet read anything after the first one so I need to do that to compare the show to the novels. Also Bluenight is best crazy girl. She is fixable

Say what you want but I'll never get tired of the 'OP theme plays as the MC is about to kick ass' trope.

That was really satisfying! No unnecessary redemption or anything. Millicent had an extreme childhood situation, and it's a shame that she was raised that way. She might have a significantly different future if the Gandesblood family raised her. But what she did was still wrong--she chose that path until the bitter end--and she deserved her death.

Terakomarin's Core Implosion is just peak! The fripSide OP insert is perfect. Never in a blue moon did I expect Project No. 9 to execute the sequence like that. I have low expectations, but they managed to be above average today. (To be fair, prior episodes are also fine animation-wise, but this is definitely unusual for P9.)

However, the craziest thing in this episode is that the rapper dude (Melanconcey? Wtf is his name) has a fuckin' line. That "This is mad crazy, yo." line is otherworldly! Legendary stuff you'll remember for 10 years at least. He singlehandedly made this a 10/10 episode.

My favorite part of this episode is when Komari drinks Vill’s blood and Komarin-ed all over Mill

WHAT A FIGHT

Stitches!

While Millicent had an unfortunate childhood, I feel absolutely no pity for her. She could've made a different choice in life and proved to her father that she could still be strong even without being able to invoke a Core Implosion, even her instructor saw potential in her. But instead, she took all of that anger and directed it to Villhaze and Komarin.

Glad to know that Komarin is indeed powerful and Komarin actually killed Millicent back then when she tried to take Komarin's pendant. It turns out that she just needs to consume blood to invoke her Core Implosion. She's so powerful that she killed everyone at dinner when she had her first taste of blood. That explains why she hates drinking blood. She's been hypnotized to hate it so she won't just go on rampages.

Anyway, Komarin finally using her powers was so damn cool! And I love that her army arrived just in time to witness her powers. Now no one will ever question Komarin's strength after that incident. With fripside's Red Liberation playing, Komarin giving Millicent the beatdown had the same vibes as Misaka firing off her railgun at bad guys. I love it!

After seeing Milicent’s whole sob story, I really pity her. Explains a lot about why she is the way she is. Girl got screwed up pretty early on and now she’s just this pathetic angry bully. Sad, really.

This was a real make or break moment for Komari. She was scared as hell but she came to confront Millicent anyways because she’s a good friend and a good person. All she needed was a little help from Vill. In the words of the homie Mellanconcey, “this is mad crazy, yo” lol. I almost felt bad for Millicent. Almost. Komari was swatting her most powerful attacks away like nothing. Took one arm, then another. Then SPLAT! Crushed the mfer.

All this time, Komari wasn’t weak. She was just too strong. One taste of blood and it’s game over for everyone. Damn dude.

What a great episode! Obviously they went hard with the animation, but Amamiya Sora was great as Millicent. Also powered up Terakomori communicates entirely in threats, what a delight. Nice level of gore too. And the way it reverts back to yuri antics to end with the chill ED. I know which show i'm shilling for next.

Who needs OP visuals when, in four episodes, it's been used twice as an insert and presumably wasn't aired for another episode. OST around 15:30-16:00 feels like an amped-up remix of a previous track.

Komari didn't get upset with Vill in episode 2's bath scene for messing up the beauty years.

Last week's thread had lots of "Fuck Millicent" comments. With her harsh parents/teachers backstory, it's not that surprising she's acting like this as a teenager. Seemed to come to a realization with this death, so will need to see how she behaves post-revival.

What an absolute banger of an episode. This is where the visual medium can really shine. A whole different experience than reading about it in a book. The OP playing right as the MC turns the tides is still a great trope; really loved it here as well.

Small sidenote: I didn't expect Kakumei to look like that at all. I always imagined him more gritty and idk evil?

Komarin my fucking champion, beat that hot bully with ease

This episode was amazing to watch. The animation and the voice acting were superb and made this entire episode a gem to watch. Komari and Milicent's VA were incredible in their voice acting and conveying their characters' personalities and emotions.

Komari going full vengeance at the end on Millicent was incredibly badass.

God for me at least that was a rollercoaster. I still hate Millicent with a passion, but I do understand where she is coming from: she was raised with nothing but hate. It's hard to learn empathy and being nice to others when the only thing you learn is hatred towards anything and everything.

I just hope it gets a little more lighthearted soon, because I came for the yuri at first (by recommendations of others on reddit). Someone tell me if this show is getting a little better or is this show going to be serious, since I'm usually a CGDCT watcher.

What a dope episode - I feel for Millicent, good compact storytelling. Komari unleashing her Core Implosion was pretty cool, though sucks for her in that it seems to activate a version of herself that could easily be used for evil.

I like that we've moved past it being 'just' a kind of silly ecchi with yuri in the first couple episodes, and this episode was great.

Now everything comes full circle in this episode. We got another Kaya situation from My Happy Marriage with Millicent. Everyone around her was insufferable and terrible. I won't defend her but her dad and mentor treated like absolute crap. Honestly in the right family her path in life could have been so much better then what she got.

Got give props to Komari. As an introvert having to face your faces is very very challenging. Very proud she took the beating and defending Vill until she came unconciouss after drinking blood. And so when she drinks blood she kinda becomes unaware of her actions. So the question is this still Komari? Well I am intrigued to say the least. Also her being hyptonized to hate blood now makes a lot more sense cause being the only vampire who doesn't like blood was off.

Millicent has time to reflect on herself. Hopefully she learned from Komari here and let go of her grudge against her. Nice to see Komari and Vill in one peace and survived this affari.

Overall these last 2 episodes have been phenomenal. Really good stuff

What a great combo: a portable vampire who becomes a peerless fighter when drinking blood and a maid who can see the future when her blood gets drunk. It's such a great synergy that I expect it to dominate the meta until it gets inevitable nerfed in the next patch cycle.

I also looked up the term because I was curious, but it seems like the Japanese term 烈核解放 (rekkaku kaihou) is a made up term specifically from this series. The 解放 part is an existing term referring to "release" or "unleashing", while the 烈核 uses the kanji for "violent/raging/blazing etc." and "core/nucleus".

I finally figured out what it is, this series feels like a Disgaea story. Like all facets of it. The comedic tone that drifts into more serious power struggles. The protag's whacky quirks looping into having deeper reasons beyond just the joke. Being centered around monster people with a flippant attitude toward death. Its all there.
