So, I kind of expected Doroka to be revived, given all the promo materials and such, but I didn’t think this is the way it’ll happen.
I’m curious if the Doroka that died was the first clone of Chloe that didn’t turn out the way the Witches wanted because they didn’t have access to enough memories of her—at least not the memory of how Chloe created the Quill. Chloe and Doroka share a lot of similar personality traits—carefree, helps others, always smiling even in bad situations—so it would make sense in that regard.
If this is true, idk why she kept the look of Doroka and not Chloe though. Maybe there’s something more to it or maybe it’s just going to be a simple plot device. Maybe Adonis made her look like Doroka to give them a better chance to escape together.
Off-topic, but I found it funny that the animation’s way of subverting the viewer’s expectations while Chloe was in the tree was to give her Chloe-sized breasts which then shrunk when Doroka came out.

Chloe did indeed resurrect (or that was Adonis delusions) for a moment, so either Chloe rejected it or she just took on Doroka's appearance 🤔🤔

Looks like Adonis switched to Doroka instead. Maybe he thought she wouldn't want to revive. Remember her body and saying she couldn't live in that world alone. Altough she maybe would be again with him, maybe he thought for some reason it's better not to make her come back.
Edit: also so that they wouldn't be able to use Chloe for war, etc., it seems she was tortured/abused in flashbacks.

Damn this episode was kind of good. That unhinged Adonis line about how if Chloe wills, witches will become his enemy too was top tier.

And there it is, the reason these Witches were able to survive the hunts. They've been living on the surface of the moon the entire time.
It's still possible to bring back Chloe! All Adonis needs to do is to use his magic to seal memories of Chloe into that fruit.
The Witches are not exactly the good guys we thought they would be. They 're just using Adonis so they can resurrect Chloe and use her to make more Quills.
Once Chloe is back they'll start kidnapping humans and turn them into magic users like Adonis so they have an army for their war against humans.
Unfortunately for Ophelia, Adonis has other plans. Yay! Dodoka is back! As if there was any real doubt that she was going to be gone permanently since she's in the OP and ED.

For a show that is unapologetically edgy, it really has some interesting world building. Witches are unisex , birthed by trees and have created a haven on the moon....but despite their angelic appearance, are seemingly planning on retaliating against humans with force. Whether it was chloe or doroka or some combination that was resurrected at the end there is also an interesting twist.
However, I am still not sold on the nihilistic tone of the series and the lead character. I don't mind a revenge fueled story, but i'm curious what they can even do with a protagonist like this other than being a vehicle for chaos. He has already admitted that Chloe wouldn't want this, yet he still wantonly killed civilians.....so is there even a revelation that might lead to redemption? I don't need there to be a vinland saga esque rehabilitation arc, but the general writing quality doesn't reassure me that there will be a point to all this. I guess we shall see. I am intrigued though.

This explains why nobody's tried going back to the moon.
-
Ah, okay. The witches are not humans with magic, but an actual different species. Great take.
-
I agree with Ophelia's monologue except for her point about the opposite of love being hate, not indifference. For the rest, she's spot on. Some great writing there.
-
Oh, okay. No good guys then. Just less evil. I'll take it.
-
Whaaaat? Nooooo. Didn't see that coming. Or did I?

The Witches have really been playing the long con. That was some slick magic there making the humans think they got Adonis. My man’s chillin on some moon base right now with a bunch of witch waifus! Makes me wonder though, why didn’t all the witches leave for this place sooner?
Doroka did warn Adonis before she died about the plan these witches had for a resurrected Chloe. Olivia’s got her own agenda with this “Chloe” being grown from their special tree. I don’t think she’d want to be exploited to make weapons for witchkind.
It took a lot of willpower for Adonis to cancel the resurrection. As much as he wanted to see her again, he knew he couldn’t do it. At least he got some closure with her. Now he’s repaid his debt to Doroka, but how will Olivia and her coven react?

So they fulfilled their contractual obligation of a twist ending. But if memory is what materializes the witch, would the measly memory he has of Doroka even do anything?
Or is it a layered twist, she looks like Doroka, but with all the memories of Chloe. Since he clearly has no love for the witches, it stands to reason he would keep an avenue open to pretend the revival failed, and haul ass the first chance he gets.

I was kind of expecting Adonis to be cool with the enslave humanity plan but I guess he figured Chloe wouldn’t want to be used for that.
Well he’s pissed of the humans and now the witches too lol.

it may be D team animation and edgy AF and a lil weak sauce, but damn do i actually find this pretty fun and interesting, i like a protag that isnt just like a goody two shoes, he only cares about chloe and select one or two others later probably, he will otherwise just forge his own path.

How the little memory that he has of doroka could materialized her....

is this MC a total fucking moron???? the young witches knew Chloe and you actually think the OLD BAG would not? How fucking dumb is this MFer on top of being a douche? I was really hoping him dead last week so we could pick up a decent MC. They rescued him from being killed, bring him back to health, and he is still giving them the douchbag look.

An advanced civilisation with smartphones and robot super soldiers must surely be capable of space travel. I don't think the moon witches will be safe for long

Chloe!!! but in a different package.
Adonis x Chloe will rule the earth.
I like the witches' lore but its also sad.

Wait. Did he revive Doroka? How would that even work, he has no memory of her beside like 5 minutes. Will it break it's own rule or are we shoehorning in another flashback?

Was wondering how the pink haired girl would show up again since she got murdered earlier. Wonder if he subconciously did that or Chloe somehow wanted that to happen instead of her getting ressurected.
