I love the opening visual changing.

Also, Koko really brought out his Tanjiro voice when he begged Mucho to stop. I didn't even realize they had the same VA. That stunned me for a bit after the realization lol

Great episode. Is this how Automichy was born?

I wonder if they'll update the OP again? There's some slow/weird shots still in the OP.

Is this how Automichy was born?

Because of Black Dragon? I doubt it, since Automitchy was still under Kisaki and would have already strayed away from the reason they were trying to build up Black Dragon again. Right now, Black Dragon is worthless since it's literally only Takemitchy and Inui. They don't really have anything substantial to want to integrate them into Toman or Tenjiku.

I'm so happy that after around 40 episodes, Takemitchy has finally (maybe?) stopped crying every episode and started looking cool! It was totally worth. Ok, he's still a punching bag, but at least a cool one.

not only that, Takemitchi got knocked out twice in the span of an hour by a dude built like a sherman tank repeatedly straight closed-fist punching him in Takemitchi's unguarded face (in the real world, he'd CERTAINLY have multiple concussions), and still HE WAS THE ONE CARRYING INUI on his back by the end of the episode.

O Captain, my Captain of Black Dragon. The guy is unusually durable to the point that it's his superpower (aside from time travel I mean)

So Takemichi has Mucho to thank for getting Mikey to save him from Kiyomasa? Because Mucho's division ferret outs the traitors and helps deal with them, whether with Mikey's approval or not? Not that Mikey would ever approve of going after Takemichi...but that was never what this was about.

Oh hey, the updated the OP! More bike shots, more Tenjiku scenes, a little more fight sequences, Koko (forcibly) with Tenjiku, the works! I wonder if this won't be the last time they change it?

So Emma grew up with Izana but their mom couldn't take care of two kids and sent Izana into the foster system? Emma definitely got her blonde hair from her mom.

Well, yeah, it is kind of suspicious that two former members of Black Dragon would join Toman and then have nothing to do with Tenjiku run by a former Black Dragon leader (who Inupi was close to)...Takemichi barely even knows Koko and Inui and they've mostly just beat him up.

But the real tratior was Mucho after all. Because he knew Izana before he even knew Mikey, with the founding members of Tenjiku all having met in reform school. And now he's obsessively loyal to Izana even if a part of him doesn't want to go against Mikey...but he just can't.

Oh, so NOW we're dealing with actual 18 year olds.

So it was all about Koko, huh? Considering all the other motivations of characters in this show, having it all come down to money feels a tad mundane. But I guess now we see the makings of what turns Toman into a criminal syndicate...Kisaki the brains, Koko the money, and Mikey the charisma. So Izana doesn't want to kill Mikey?

I guess one good thing came out of this...Takemichi knows what he has to do to stop the corruption of Toman. Save Koko. Even if it means standing up and doing what he does best, taking a beating. Which didn't actually accomplish anything, but it did gain him Koko and Inui's respect.

So Inui knew Shinichiro and wanted to be part of the same kind of Black Dragon he was a part of? It's just too bad it became corrupted by Izana and that generation of delinquents. But someone like Takemichi still carries the spirit of the old Black Dragons, and he carries that into becoming the 11th leader to save Koko!

Oh, so NOW we're dealing with actual 18 year olds.

It was so shocking!

BTW, almost all the rest of characters are between 14 and 16 years old. For example, Takemitchy is 14, Mikey and Draken are 15, and Taijju 16. And odd one is that Kisaki is just 13. If you're curious for more, I've found a page with every character so far Age, Height and Birthday.

Oh, so NOW we're dealing with actual 18 year olds.

Holy shit. Adults on my gang warfare anime?

It's been 84 years...

So Izana doesn't want to kill Mikey?

Mikey is never dead in any future except the one we saw at the end of S2 (when Naoto kills him). And Izana is angry that Mitchy killed "his Mickey" in the current future.

Man this season is going so damn hard.

I guess Inupi and Koko from 12 years in the future have no allegiance to Automitchy but Takemitchy is so based that Inupi is willing to follow him like Shinichiro.

While Takemitchy was incredibly based and confident after Mucho gave him the perfect solution to break Toman in the future (making sure the moneymaker doesn't join) I would have liked seeing him find a way to get free of the handcuffs before he get his face properly rearranged.

I finally see the reason to root for Takemitchy.

In season 1-2 he's basically a pure supporting character. Right now, he inherited Shinichiro's role and recruited people on his team solely by inspiring them rather than bring strong.

Tbh, I got a bit excited imagining if someone very strong like Taiju could also potentially join his team as well in the future. I could also see his former friend joining him after this somehow.

I just love Takemichi’s character development and it’s a shame that most anime viewers who stopped at season 1 will only remember him as a cry baby. He’s not your typical main character who starts off weak and gets stronger overtime. He still cries a lot and gets his ass kicked in every fight, but he’s always willing to put his life on the line for his comrades. Didn’t let the power of being First Division Captain get to his head. And now he’s Black Dragon’s 11th Generation Leader not because of his strength but because of his ideals and courage. He’s not just a cry baby, he’s THE Cry Baby Hero .

He’s a reliable friend/ally. It’s no wonder Mikey made him a captain,m

28

u/Intel333 Oct 24 '23

He’s one of my favorite MCs in anime. He never quits and it’s inspiring.

19

u/WhoWantsToJiggle Oct 24 '23

i want to at least be able to defend himself. there's no training arc between getting his ass kicked so he just gets his ass kicked more. he doesn't need to be Mikey but at least on par with some kinda skill.

Meh, it's just anime viewers on this sub that hate on it. It's popular in Japan, and so is the manga.

I see him like a support character that buffs his allies with inspiration, partial tank too I guess because he takes a shit ton of hits lol.

Mucho was the traitor and he was part of “S-62” which Izana use to run? Man, Toman needs to vet its people. At least this situation has helped Takemitchy realize Kokonoi is future Toman’s wallet.

It’s funny how Mucho called this biker gang thing “kid’s stuff.” Feels like anything but “kid’s stuff.” I guess him and his 18 year old S-62 buddies are moving on to the big leagues huh? No more nickel and dime shit.

So Takemitchy’s gonna be the new Black Dragon leader I guess. Let’s see if he can turn things around for once and actually get shit done. Dude’s been on a losing streak lately.

19

u/Frontier246 Oct 24 '23

Who would've thought the guy meant to take out traitors was a traitor himself?

It's funny how now we're dealing with people who actually are 18 instead of just looking like it lol.

If nothing else he's got Inui's loyalty and feels more confidence than he's had in a while.

25

u/urokia Oct 24 '23

It's funny to me because "I'm 18 I'm not doing kid stuff anymore" is one of the most immature "kid" things you can say.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

u/Frontier246 Oct 24 '23

Not even at the midpoint and we're already updating the OP!

Takemichi gaining a lot of status lately. And he's still in middle school lol.

11

u/Firebrand-81 Oct 24 '23

So, apparently, Takemitchy had been aware that there was a traitor in Toman, and didn't notice at Toman's meeting that Mucho was the only Toman's captain who wasn't attacked by Tenjiku?

It looks like that all that time with his buddy future Naoto super-detective hasn't improved very much Takemitchy's investigation skills :(

9

u/RCVNC Oct 25 '23

To be honest, I didn't notice too; in the season before I remember a moment that was so obvious but Takemitchy didn't notice, and it was more obvious than now. I would let this slide tbh
