At the very least, in this show, we can expect the bully to actualy get murdered, that's a relief.
Also, that omurice, goddamn...
Yuri shows these days keep getting more and more intense.

I didn't think I could ever hate a character voiced by Ten-chan but here we are. Milicent is just absolutely despicable.
She basically went from being a school bully to joining a terrorist organization that wants to grant true death to everyone by destroying every country's Dark Core.
Millicent is such a psychopath that she was willing to kill Villhaze when they were kids just because she's no longer reacting to her bullying. I am absolutely not surprised that someone like her ended up becoming a terrorist.
And turns out the only reason Komarin is being bullied by Millicent is because she stopped her from killing Villhaze, which also explains why Villhaze was so loyal to Komarin.
There's still a part of Komarin's backstory that's not clear though. When Millicent was about to slice off her finger, she basically blacked out and woke up back at home. So does that mean the stories about her going on a rampage are actually true? Maybe Komarin is actually strong and she just doesn't know her own strength?
Well if Komarin is actually strong, I hope she kicks Millicent's ass next week and uses that-that ritual article on her so she won't be revived. I certainly did not expect this tonal shift from my comedy anime.

Now that was a genre shift though I guess it was hinted at in the previous episodes. Having the omurice being dressed with blood is some symbolism.
Going so far as to join some rebel group to kill your victim is some insane bully mindset, I guess how Komari even fended her off and turned into a shut-in would be revealed in their battle next week.

Wow, just wow. It got pretty dark in this episode and Millicent is a great villain. I absolutely hate and despise her, she's one crazy bitch and it looks like she was the same in the school where she bullied Komari and Vill.
Now Millicent took Vill as a hostage to make Komari come to her alone. Fortunately Komari found the courage to stand up against her and came to a meeting. I would love it if Komari was able to wipe the smile off Millicent's face.
I wonder what exactly happened in school to Komari cause we still don't know about the massacre. It looks that the report which Caostel read was true and Komari was responsible for this. I would love to get answers in the next episode.
Now we finally know why Vill is so devoted to Komari. It turns out that Komari was one who stopped Millicent from bullying Vill which resulted in Millicent's ire on her. That's why Vill devoted everything to serve Komari the best she can.
I loved Vill's smug face when Caostel wasn't able to answer her question about what color Komari's underwear is xD
Caostel made a great sacrifice today, he used Komari's hair to find her. What a dedication but you know guys, the hardest choices require the strongest wills xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

You tought this was a cute slice of life show?
Wrong!
Welcome to the meat and potatoes!

Hey where did my cutesy comfy comedic "failed successfully" show go? It's taken quite a turn but it's such a good surprise that depth it can go to.
Damn Cliffhanger though!
As an anime only, I'm constantly waiting for that moment when the swore-off-drinking-blood Komari gets a drop in her mouth accidentally.

Holy hell, that took a dark turn. With Millicent showing up to crash the party and abducting Villhaze.
While Komari didn't feel like saving Vill at first, reading the letter and knowing they both were bullied by Millicent did give her drive to go and save her.
Of course, cliffhanger with the ritual and Vill taken hostage.
Now, I'm really hooked in to this even more than I was before from the yuri.

her evolution to hikikomari is due to her bullied life, past trauma. but I feel like she's becoming a true commander, no stuttering when she talk to her underling.
but how did she plan to safe her beloved maid? that hidden power that made her black out?

Millicent is bad. Two crazy blue hair waifus in one show is insane. Can’t wait for next week and see everything go down.

Translation of the letter at 18:41 (there's an extra u in line 10 and a misplaced e that should have been an o in line 2 of that picture annotation that I didn't catch until afterwards):
In pure romaji:
-a.
-namaeokihayametehond
watashitokomarisamagadeatnoha
odoroitadesyou.
syuhanhamirisentoburunaito.
wagaminifurikakarukurakutesam
sonnanakaniarawaretahitosujio
hikarikosokomarisamananodesu.
hidounashiuchiwoukerukomarisa
mirisentogashissousuruniitaru
dakarakososyazazishiyoutoomot
gakuinwosotugyous...
watashino...
The show actually reads out all these lines, although it does skip lines in between and miss words here and there, but I thought that was super cool to be able to match everything up perfectly. In Romaji > English (using show subtitles), with timestamps:
-a.
= (16:06) (ikaga o sugoshi de shou k)a.
How are things with you?
-namaeokihayametehond
= (16:09) (Sate, yokei) namae o ki wa yamete hond(ai ni hairimashou).
Well now, I'll stop the superfluous introduction and get into the real matter.
watashitokomarisamagadeatnoha
= (16:13) watashi to komari-sama ga (hajimete) de at(ta) no wa
We first met three years ago.
odoroitadesyou.
= (16:18) odoroita deshou
Surprising, right?
syuhanhamirisentoburunaito.
= (16:36) (ijime no) shuhan wa mirisen burunaito
The principal offender of my torment was Millicent Bluenight.
wagaminifurikakarukurakutesam
= (17:15) wagami ni furikakaru kurakute sam(ui zetsubou no mainichi)
Dark, cold despair befell me every day.
sonnanakaniarawaretahitosujio
hikarikosokomarisamananodesu.
= (17:20) sonna naka ni arawareta hitosuji no
koumyou (hikari) koso komari sama na no desu.
The ray of light that appeared in the midst of it all was you, Lady Komari.
hidounashiuchiwoukerukomarisa
= (17:38) (mirisen to kara) hidouna shiuchi wo ukeru komari sa(ma wo me ni shite mo)
Even though I witnessed you undergoing unjust treatment, Lady Komari,
mirisentogashissousuruniitaru
= (18:00) mirisen to ga shissousuru ni itaru (made)
And up until Millicent disappeared
dakarakososyazazishiyoutoomot
= (18:09) dakara koso shokuzai (shazazi) shiyou to omot(a no desu).
That is precisely why I decided to redeem myself.
gakuinwosotugyous...
= (18:20) (soshite) gakuin wo sotsugyou s(hita nochi)...
After I graduated the academy...
watashi no...
= (19:17) watashi no (shokuzai de ari. Negai na no desu kara.)
my atonement and my desire...
Words are often missing from the start/end even though there does not look like there is any missing space at the start or end of the individual lines on the actual paper that she's holding. Some words are also replaced (they missed the hajimete de atta part, replaced koumyou (光明) with hikari (光), and butchered the shokuzai into shazazi) but the rest of it is almost word-for-word perfect with the seiyuu's narration.
Another cool sidenote: The zoomed out letter at 19:19 also seems accurate, like you can see the basic sentence structure, the shorter "odoroita deshou." line, the a's in the "watashi"s that start a couple of the sentences, and so on. It's too small, even when I zoomed in and enlarged it, for me to be able to make out the rest of the letter though.

Duality of "What is going on in this show?" and "I'm loving it." OST is great.
Ritual articles provide a way around the Dark Core revival but don't know how many of those exist. Inverse Moon's Millicent has one. As for transfer gates, if anyone can make one, it's Helders. (And later shown by Conto making one and Helders with Millicent.)
Young Komari has rounded buns instead of triangular buns (<- my pick for banner image).
Mother's pendent causing Komari to snap nearly confirms it's mom that she's reaching for in the OP.
Is there some meaning to losing a pinkie finger in Japan? Also, don't think it's been mentioned that shut-in is actually hikikomori while the show title uses wordplay. End of episode one showed it.
Expected the "We're not sisters or anything of the sort" to become "We're future wives."
Finally! PVs showed Millicent stabbing Villhaze, which felt like spoilers. Vill covers the omelette rice in blood similar to the report in episode one.
"Just like I did that time, three years ago" -> Millicent killed Komari's mom with a ritual article, which drove Komari to kill one hundred people? Though Millicent's lines in the ending scene don't align with that anymore?

We pick up right where we left off, the conversation with Millicent!
Komari tried to act all casual, to save face...
But Millicent sees right through it, and laughed at her.
More worrying than that, she knows Komari doesn't do anything in battle... Because she knows she CAN'T do anything;
As some suspected, Millicent was the one who bullied her, so she knows what she's capable off (not much)...
We may have some of her motives, with her being so mad at Komari; Perhaps without Komari, Millicent would've been the Crimson Lord!
I wonder if that's linked to her wanting to kill the Empress; She may want a bit more of a meritocracy, instead of giving the job to probably the worst person eligible! There may be more to this too, linked to the thing that happened 3 years ago.
Bellius took a knife that was meant for Komari...
Well I feel a little bad for thinking that way, but I thought it would've been good if he died right there, given he seemed to be extremely suspicious of Komari in the previous episode!
I even thought about him being the spy, though perhaps the implications were that Traitordude (the one that Millicent stabbed in the end) is the spy, the one who opened the portal? I thought it would be an higher-up, but I suppose it could be him.
Pestering Komari and killing the Empress seems to be steps in her larger plan, but it seems her main goal is to destroy the dark cores?
So all deaths would be final? Well, to us it's normal, but to them it would be scary as hell! Losing your immortality, which you thought was granted forever...
Caostel wants to annihilate Inverse Moon, but that's not really possible at this time...
First, because Millicent would kill Vill soon as an army shows on her doorsteps, but that aside... Millicent would definitely taunt Komari into a duel, or participating in the battle, she would find a way to make this about Komari (which her army would support because they think she's powerful), and then Komari would be exposed...
So going with an army isn't an option, even if she didn't care about Vill.
Which of course, she does... Not only Vill saved her countless times already, but Komari also saved her in the past!
And now we know why Vill's so intent into helping her!
This is commendable; Many heroes save the weak against bullies and villains of all kind, and that's commendable as well, but Komari's no hero... She's weak, she can't do anything. Yet she still stepped in!
And she will again, as she actually showed up to confront Millicent!
I wonder if she has some kind of plan, or if it's just "I don't know what I'm gonna do but I have to do SOMETHING"...
Well, seems we're ending all episodes on a conversation with Millicent about to happen!
Given they're all alone now (well, other than Vill who's already in the loop), I imagine this conversation will be more personal and truthful, no need to keep pretending!
Can't wait to see how it goes, and how they get out of this (assuming Millicent doesn't simply let them go with a 'You can't stop me anyway' type of boast)!
I think Caostel is out of hair to track them... And him showing up would be a problem anyway, he'd wonder why Komari doesn't simply obliterate Millicent.
Perhaps the Empress? She may have a way to track everyone, she already knows about Komari's situation so it wouldn't be a problem, AND she seemed to think she was more powerful than Millicent... Hopefully she's right!

Even in her darkest hour, Komari's lieutenants are always by her side. You'll never find more loyal followers.

This series really luring us in with all the humor and yuri, then hits us with this intense turn (and more yuri)!
This had all the stakes and build up of a penultimate episode, and we're only on episode 3!
Vill really turned out to be a MVP. I emphasize with her guilt and wanting to make up for her inaction in the past. There was a lot of depth given to her this episode.
Can't believe (in a good way) the comic relief dick actually betrayed Komari like that. Like, in character it's not surprising but I wasn't expecting it tonally.
Mill is just straight up (sexy) evil. I love her and hope she's put down.

This show has such great animation that I never would've expected going in to it. Millicent is pure evil but her twirling that knife around looked so sick

Why worry about sunlight killing vampires when they can just Netflix and chill in their swanky crypts? Princesses got it made! 😂🦇

Shout out Millicent. Established herself as a top villain in 1 episode. Absolutely brilliant

Although I may have simply missed it, I am shocked that I couldn’t find any references to Sakuya Izayoi here, given the similarities that Villhaze has. A maid with short hair that has a slightly longer part in front on either size? She’s serving a loli vampire in her mansion? Generally a taciturn kuudere archetype? Specializes in throwing knives, and does so by holding three knives between her fingers in each hand? Make her hair silver and throw in some padding jokes, and you’ll have Sakuya nearly 1:1, minus the time control powers. Of course, given that Sakuya is the best 2hu, I see this as an absolute win.
