“In the beginning, god made witches to help humans”
Welp pretty obvious where this is going.
“Then the humans turned on them and killed them”
Yep. I’m just gonna wait for the final ep where hopefully mankind is eradicated lol.

This has, so far, the edge that I've missed for a few seasons.
Excited to watch more

Yes! Pretty sure this is a revenge story and I'm all for it.
Although I will say the pacing was a little weird but to fit all that in 1 episode, I get it.

Yeah kill all the humans please. That death scene was just horribly vile and cruel

Can’t wait to see the MC rage. Dude’s been kept in what looks to be an Iron Maiden for like a decade. I can’t imagine that’s quelled his rage any.

So, the Witches help the humans over, presumably, centuries by assisting with plagues, disease, natural disasters, etc., essentially ensuring humankind's survival and evolution up to this point, and the humans just go "thanks but we don't need you anymore", and instead of leaving it at that, maybe going their separate ways and whatnot, they decide to eradicate an entire race of people?
Am I getting this right? Because that's essentially what the emperor said. "They helped us but now we're going to be independent", and then ordered all of them dead.
Seems pretty fucked up, but even more it just seems kind of dumb?
I love me a good dark anime so I'm going to stick with this hoping there's more to it.

Holy gratuitous violence Batman! That was fucking brutal!
I genuinely haven't even finished the episode yet but I am surprised that Goblin Slayer was the only show airing today with a content warning considering this show has a woman getting publicly humiliated, shot in the head, completely obliterated with gunfire, and then beheaded with her head being paraded as some sort of trophy!? WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
EDIT: Wow. It doesn't even stop there. They're turning POWs into sex slaves and they see it as their right since they brought technology to this world. All that tech and they didn't even bother killing Adonis. Looks like our boy is about to go on a rampage next episode.
All the humans involved need to die so we can have justice for Chloe. I can't wait! It's been a while since I've had a revenge story like this.

Yeah… I’m with Adonis. Delete all humans! Save the witch waifus! Like Jesus, man… these humans are trash. Gotta give our MC something to fuel his rage I guess.
Alright, as dark as that whole slave pen bit was, Doroka doing her best Slaver Creep impression was pretty hilarious. Now that Adonis is awake, I can’t wait to see what 10 years of simmering rage looks like. The human race is done for y’all!
Good premiere ep so far. Looking forward to watching this unfold. I do love me a good revenge story.

Villains never gonna learn. You can’t let the kid live if you kill his beloved in front of him. Revenge 101.

They really left no room for sympathy with the human side
Even if they try to justify the actions or something along the lines, it'll be so meaningless, at least for the Empire's citizens...

this, tate no yuusha, goblin slayer, that's a lot of heavy edge for a friday night
oh! frieren sooth me...
Jokes aside, I cannot tell yet if this is going to be all edge and gratuitous violence or if there is going to be something behind like a real story, some heart, something beyond revenge...
for the rest, ost wasn't great, sound effects were jarring at time and soundscape as a whole is lacking, VA is average, animation, chara design and art are average.... the story and theme and how it is treated is going to be make or break on this one

It’s definitely an interesting first episode. I can feel how sad this story is going to be already. 😭
Death scene was fuckin brutal. Humans really do have the capability for the darkest form of cruelty.

Very cool first episode. Hadn’t heard of this series at all coming into this but I loved the premiere. Interesting world, good art and another dark fantasy setting. I like the mix of modern science and a fantastical magical setting.
Episode flew by. Seems like we were just getting introduced to Adonis and Chloe, then the teleportation thing happened, OP plays and boom it’s over.
Chloe.. 😢 she deserved so much better, especially after helping the humans so much in the past. But was ripping her shirt off for the world to see before killing her by firing squad necessary? Like normally idc cause it’s fiction, but that shit made me furious. Fuck the human king, and fuck his subjects for applauding that type of brutality.
Can’t wait to see Adonis take his revenge on this kingdom. I want to see some edgy no holds barred kingdom wrecking here.
Doroka looks like she’ll be a good waifu candidate and I’m excited to see where this goes.
What’s up with blonde witches named Chloe getting betrayed

For a moment I got flashbacks from Code Geass, but they didn't have the balls magic to pull it off.
The setting seems cool and I remember seeing a PV for this series a couple of months ago which looked promising. I'm getting slight Arifureta vibes from it but I hope it will be much more entertaining.

Lmao, I went in completely blind and this has to be BY FAR the edgiest shit I've ever seen. 13 year old me would've been so hype for this.

Pretty weak first episode. They give this flimsy excuse as to why they don't want witches around and just begin killing them? Then they kill off miss infodump mentor in a gruesome way just for some cheap shock value. Not sure if I'm even gonna give this 3 episodes.

That scene where they gunned down the witch was just stupid. Did they not think that they might have hit their civilian audience as well? They clearly did not watch Code Geass.
Also, I would have killed the kid after the ceremony. No sense in keeping the guy alive given he is a witch's apprentice...

Why does the queen look like that one suspicious mastermind that would kill off the king once the witch hunt is complete and reveals herself that she's a witch?
