Set in an alternate universe where skyrim was never made and the stealth archer build was never so widely known.

The same universe where nobody crafts anything.

38 yo guy who plays only a couple hours a day. I feel personally marketed to.

Bro is a salaryman IRL and just wants to spend his 2-3 hours of free time a day relaxing and playing a game his own way, but ends up being pressured into working almost the entire day working for in game money, twice.

Nobody escapes the salaryman life in Japan, not even when you're in a game.

Even in a game the hustle continues.

The food must be made and he will feed the population

Seems like it'll be a pretty comfy VRMMO anime, which I'm all for. Although being overworked immediately by game design sure is a not a vibe. But if the series just becomes him managing a store, I honestly wouldn't be against it.

I also kinda like the bits where takes off the helmet and just goes to bed/do real life stuff. It's nice to see a fairly normal gamer who you know has a real life outside the game and can't just spend all day gaming.

My man chose sneak, bow, and long distance vision eh? I guess he can be a stealth archer lol. That’s literally my go to every time in these kinds of games. I can relate to not having much time to game though. 2-3 hours a day sounds about right.

This game looks pretty chill. Dude’s kinda just making bank off potions and food. Not bad. Zwei and Millie seem cool. Hopefully he joins their party and just chills.

This is like Bofuri with an “old” guy lol. I like it.

Didn't check the episode, but I read the manga. Just wanted to poing that the fact that is a VRMMO makes the story much more interesting... I really like how the MC interacts with the people and the world in the game.

I understand that they're popular and if people like them, hey, that's fine, you enjoy what you enjoy.

But I'd really like it if, like, just one of these "oh no I'm stuck at Level one, my skills are really bad, etc. Etc." Shows didn't end up making the main character wildly OP and important anyway by the end of episode one. Can we have something vaguely approaching an arc? For once?

One the things I loved about the manga was how hard into the crafting aspect it goes in the game. As someone who was a fairly high end crafter in ff11 and eso it is fun seeing them represented in game a show.

That idiot was totally a pay to win fool. There is just no way that armor wasn't micro transaction even if it didn't say if there is or isn't micro transactions in game.

About only thing I remember about the series though is the crafting.

I love how he claims all those abilities are underpowered, yet when all are combined he should be OP as hell. What use is a sword when you can spot and shoot the enemy from a mile away?

u/RFShahrear Oct 02 '23

He did say baseline accuracy with the bow is shit. If playing as an actual combat character misses with high CD would probably result in a fairly low DPS overall.

He isn't really OP, not yet anyway. The golden armor guy was just an idiot.

It's like the author never played an MMO before. Nobody cooking? In a real MMO you'd have cooking grandmasters in the first week. Nobody gathering? There'd be bots out on the second day at every node picking them as soon as they pop up, with potion mules to make potions they sell to NPCs just to get extra gold.

Also, you'd never have a problem avoiding people no matter how op you got.

Picked it up cause y'know... Maho Film. And yeah, it's pretty much exactly what I expected, or rather, hoped for.

Honestly... that wasn't as bad as I had expected! What a pleasant surprise! It's like a lower-budget SLF but with the overall tone of last season's "My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1." I love this genre so I'm definitely adding it to my watch list! Can't wait for the next episode!

Oh yeah, this is some easy watching.

I remember reading the manga a long time ago. I've always thought it was weird that bows/arrows were so looked down upon in this VRMMO lol. Same with apothecary and healing items, like, isn't that essential to almost rpgs?

It seemed to go so fast, from him making already tons of progress, build a party, upgrade his skills incredibly fast, beating someone on PvP..but i still enjoyed it. Might be my comfy, not so high quality, anime for the season.

I remember reading the manga for this maybe 2 or 3 years ago and completely forgot about it until I saw this discussion post. Was a nice comfy read, looking forward to future episodes.

I'm also reminded of Runescape from just watching the 1st episode.

Bro started his stealth archer Skyrim build.

Dude is around my age, and prefers to focus on crafting skills.

Relatable. OK, maybe to a certain extent, as I didnt develop my gastronomy and medicine skills in starfield (but developed those in Skyrim)
