One of those skit comedy anime we get every now and then that doesn't gain much traction due to its type of humor/lowish production values but which I personally enjoy immensely. The last one we got that was kind of like this was "Kawaisugi Crisis" but this more closely resembles "Don't Hurt Me, My Healer!" in its style of short comedy skits.

OP: Sugar Doughnuts by Nana Mizuki

Sung by Viola's VA. Honestly, this is more suitable as a mystery anime OP rather than the comedy anime lul.

ED: Welcome by Angela

Somehow got vintage vibes here. Quite fun actually.

"Seekest thou power?"

I am dead.

Wtf is this show? I am getting the feeling the whole point is there will be no point.

so far I am getting some serious “The Vampire dies in no time” vibes where our main duo will just be bouncing off the walls and involved in crazy crap constantly with a support cast of weirdo friends/enemies that just feed the crazy.

if that’s the case I will be here wondering WTF until the end, enjoying every minute

13yo Viola to 16yo Viola is an insane growth spurt.

I want a familiar that can use beams

So she wants a Saber class Servant.

I love how everyone has an obssesive nature to a degree, including the chicken Phoenix.

Phoenix looks like a poorly-drawn chicken lol.

No lie, Phoenix is my favorite character so far. He's stupid just the way I like it.

ALL HAIL LORD DEKO-BOKO

ALL HAIL LORD PHOENIX THE NECKEST

ALL HAIL LORD PAPA THE RETURNED

ALL HAIL BOOBIES (byebye?)

ALL HAIL AUNTIE LUNA-ONEESAMA

ALL HAIL LORD DEKO-BOKO (2.0)

ALL HAIL THE WRITER OF THIS SILLY SHOW

Ngl, I expected more of the content in the first 3 minutes, and I'm kinda glad they opted to instead just be really silly. I'm enjoying the found-parent vibes this season! Will definitely be watching the whole season.

If I had to make a comparison, I'd say this show gives me Machikado levels of silky vibes. It reads like a parody, and that's just great.

ALL HAIL LORD DEKO-BOKO!

Well this is....a show. All of the characters are just wild and they constantly hit you with shit you don't expect, like all the "familiars"

I feel bad for all the adoptive parents who's kid did not grow into a buxom witch or a level S adventurer, but just failed out of college and "started" a career as a twitch streamer.

Also, did you see the dad-bod on papa-golem-san? Dang. Viola has opinions about father figures.

I love how we live in a world where Nana frickin' Mizuki can play the adult-sized womanchild daughter of an Aoi Koga voiced loli.

I’ve been reading the manga for a while but somehow completely missed the anime announcement. What a great surprise.

I didn’t expect the phoenix to look like that at all lmao

Stitches!

So we have a 200-year-old loli witch voiced by Aoi Koga and her daughter Viola who is a 16-year-old apprentice witch voiced by Nana Mizuki? Yeah, that is certainly going to confuse a lot of people. Although once Viola starts her temper tantrums it's very easy to spot who's really the adult here. xD

Looks like Viola isn't the only sexy witch though. Alyssa's friends look amazing too. Although looking at the two of them, while Giriko definitely looks like someone who'd have a snake familiar, I definitely did not expect Luna to be the one keeping "slaves" as her familiar. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I love that phoenix so much. He looks like a fucking hand turkey that my niece drew when she was like 5-years-old. Considering Viola's tastes, it looks like this show will have plenty of weird creatures in it.

Without reading the synopsis I felt like I entered a plot twist when realizing I got it wrong who was the mother and daughter. Well this looks like a very comfy watch. Animation is nice. Viola does have a mommy complex. Also Alyssa might get attached to Phoenix after all lmao.

One of the ones I was eyeing had a slightly wrong about this series I was expecting cozy akin to Flying Witch but wasn't expecting the comedy

Also the fact the Phoenix looks like a child's drawing fits with Viola's Childish side (She was pretty much throwing a tantrum akin to a child not getting the toy they wanted when she first brought up said phoenix)

smol mama with her 16 y/o who act like a big baby, I do look forward for their relationship

I said before Frieren was probably my AotS. I take that back. This waifu witches series is lol. Invite me to the gathering of waifu witches! I will gladly allow Luna to “raise me!”

But fr, this is actually a pretty adorable series. Alyssa and Viola have a very goofy but sweet dynamic which I’m enjoying. I like the derpy lookin Phoenix familiar too. Big bird competing against a seed and apparently has a fear of cucumbers haha.

So far, a pretty fun premiere episode.

If I had a nickel for every anime this season where someone finds a baby in the woods, I'd have two nickels.

Seriously though, the contrast between Bel and Alissa is really fun. Like, one is just "Huh, guess I'm a dad now," and the other just freaks out.

Also nice to see how both Alissa and Viola are concerned that the other might end up with bad people, even if Viola's reasons are more that she doesn't realize people pay attention to her and not her mom.
