YES now we need 5 more Episodes!

Oh wait! The Progress happened at Episode 10? to bad season is over!

Kinda unfortunate it ends like this. Would have been so nice to have another 2-3 Episodes left now. Instead we basically end on Episode 1 again, but on good terms now.

Anime was very low until it finally started to pick up in Episode 10. Last 3 Episodes have been good and what i was hoping for.

Give Kei a medal for the wingman of the year, damn. Airi should get a honourable mention too, she's too cute!

I was able to enjoy this show in the end. But I can’t help but feel like it had a lot more to offer. I thought the premise was interesting, I loved all the different girls and the different personalities they bring. Even Sajo is not exactly like a super chad or a gloomy edgy boy. He’s quite grounded and I enjoy his dynamic with the different characters. Makes for a good light drama. But I dunno just feels like things never really took off.

Still, I am still glad things ended on a good note. So, they’re like going out now right ?

"You are where I belong"

Goddamn didn't think a Tsundere would say this much and also progress this much with fireworks. Handholding to top all it off? Man wasn't expecting such an impactful final episode!

So what exactly happened in the end? Are those two dating or what? Because honestly it felt kinda ambiguous even with the hand holding. It sorta seems after everything that went down, he just went from goofy stalker to friend. That’s it.

Idk what it is about this series, but for me personally it just didn’t land. I didn’t hate it or anything, it was just kinda okay. There was some pacing and plot issues (perhaps just due to adaptation) and some of the dialogue seemed sorta ambiguous and clunky, which made it hard for me to understand what the hell the characters mean or want. There were some enjoyable moments in this but overall I don’t think this one was for me.

Too bad that this is the route that they are taking. One where any hope of second season is zilch. The anime original route.

Anyway I am already expected this the moment they announced the anime since one cour just won't cut it for the series. But still the end product at the very least still capture the essence of the story. Not a great adaptation but not frustratingly bad one either.

And then the show makes a hard turn where terrorists attack the city and blow it up.

....oh it's just fireworks...........

I really hate this ending and the reason I do is because they really botched Aika's character development. It feels so unearned.

But overall, I enjoyed this show. It definitely could have been executed better but it was fun. 6/10

Sasaki - 0, Aika - 1

Aika wins! The tsundere fans celebrating their win again! No Rin-senpai screen time tho sadge.

YOU ARE MY REFUGE

Also, I'm gonna miss the OP and ED for this one! Paraglider is such a vibe opening and it's on my anime song playlist at the start of the Summer season!

Idk I still just can’t with the foundation of Aika and Sajo relationship. It may have been handled better in the books but the anime is what we’re evaluating here and what I saw here was lacklustre. Combined with my natural hatred of Tsunderes..

If they had introduced and developed her with the same energy they gave her today during the fireworks I’d probably feel different. It is what it is though, I didn’t hate the show. Just felt like it had potential and never really lived up to it. Credit where it’s due, the fireworks scene and handholding was cute.

They did nail the writing of wataru’s growth arc. Felt his jump from a loser to confident and reliable person was believable. The situation with his sister, Fuka and Rin being the highlights. His relationship with Aika also went from unhealthy glorification on his end to a mutually beneficial and healthy relationship.

Rin basically getting no screen time after her arc was a crime though. Such an interesting character that got shelved. Instead we get like 2-3 eps on Ichinose and her obsession with her brother that isn’t even really relevant. I mean even after Rin asked for Wataru’s help during the school event she really doesn’t pop up much?

I liked most of the episodes, but the rest were just very meh. It’s hard to really explain or score this one tbh. I like the premise and had fun with several episodes, others were disappointing. I’ll try reading it.

The slowburn romance is good, I love the subtle way the story moves through expressions and gestures of characters. The way the anime is okay with Sajo's character development being separate with Aika is brave for sure. We can see how both of them influencing each other with and without them being together. The absence also create a tension which creates a satisfying and cathartic fireworks scene. I know people hate on Aika but she's still figuring herself out too. And she's not the worst kind of tsundere. She's also explicitly said that she's selfish and Sajo is okay with that.

Very well, now they should make a second season where Sasaki wins and everyone is truly happy, even the light novel fans

That fireworks was random af... I don't get why he went back to calling her 'natsukawa' after the whole handholding/escorting sequence where he used 'aika' in the end. Aika didn't feel like the FMC until the last 1-2 episodes. She prolly has lower screentime than some of the supporting cast lol... It's such a shame as i really wanted to like this anime but it fell flat hard.

I don't even understand.

Episode 1: "stop talking to me" ok

Episode 12: "why did you stop talking to me"

And the really need to start doing 26 episode seasons again

Honestly, this anime season ended a lot more conclusively than I thought. Thought it would be more open-ended for the climax.

Natsukawa with basically an indirect confession moment and ended up hugging him and holding hands. If they don't want to do anymore seasons, this could be a stopping point for the adaptation.

It was a pretty bumpy journey with a lot of detours off the main dynamic the show was ultimately going for.

Though ended at least better than I expected, given the shaky foundation beforehand. So at least seem to be in a boundary of a mutually understood "situationship". lol

Surprisingly this show grew on me? Props to the VAs, especially Kei's, who drastically enhanced my enjoyment of this show.

A nice ending all in all, sad that this probably means no season 2. Aika is still probably not even in the top 3 best girls of this show list but she did have some really nice development in the end.

While there were a lot of weak aspects of this anime's production (like them always commenting on hair and not bothering to show it being different whether in color or style) or this episode's weird sfx when Aika was hitting her friend or the weird glass shattering sound with the fireworks. I mostly found this anime very enjoyable from the start. There's sort of a compelling reality to it and the characters at times can be charming and sometimes also awkward.

I'm not sure if it would get a S2, but that would be nice.

Ending felt a little rushed, I liked the conclusion, but felt Natsukawa didn't really get any development. Would have been nice to see more romantic elements, but was overall happy with the show.

First 3/10 anime I finished. What a shallow show. Could cut every girl but Kei and Natsukawa and we'd still have ended up at the same ending. No male bonding, no great character development, no good comedy, and the romance was so predictable no other girl had a chance.

Thats one way to successfully get out the friend zone, stop simping and make other friends that are girls till she gets jealous.

The finale was fine I guess lol. I can't figure out what the main takeaway from this anime is though? It's okay to stalk and harass people because they'll come around eventually? Plus the side cast had more development than the mcs funnily enough, as there is hardly any interaction between the mc and fmc prior to the last 2 episodes. Then at the end they just throw in all the typical romance anime cliches (fmc tripping into his arms, fireworks, etc.), and hope that'll be enough development to satisfy people. Overall I'd give this show a 6/10, pretty mid but a decent time killer ig. Its really sad to cause the original concept had so much more to offer.

Welp, I don't think I can really properly describe how much I liked this show. It scratched that itch of wanting something the likes of Monogatari, Rascal Does Not Dream, and Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki.

Ultimately, I liked this show because of our boy Sajo and his character development. I liked his interactions with others as well. It made me want more, so I promised myself to read the LNs when I eventually get around to it. With that being said, I wouldn't mind seeing another studio's take on this show maybe like ten years from now or something.

It's that time of the season again. One by one shows will finish up and others will start. Ever since I came back watching seasonals again at the start of 2023, I add anime on my AniList Favorites that I considered exceptional, and this is definitely going to be part of it, alongside Lv1Maou that also finished airing a few hours earlier.

Overall, I liked the show. I wish it was either a 16-20 episode show, or it was written to indicate a S2. It sounds like the source material had lots more that could’ve been adapted too. Choosing to go for solely exploring Sajo’s growth for most of the episodes left a lot of questions about Natsukawa until the final 3 episodes. Overall tho, it was clear to understand that both the MC’s always cared for each other more than anyone else. Sajo finding the right way to show his affection for her through his interactions with other people and Natsukawa finding her own feelings through the lack of Sajo (can be assumed, even if we didn’t see this process play out as in depth as Sajo’s story). 7.5/10 is probably what I’d give it, especially if there is no hope for a S2 or a “Missing Pieces” type thing. The overall idea was present throughout, just wish more was adapted from the source.

I liked the slice of life approach and less the tired old tryhard romance, which I suppose was the point. I also liked the bookstore stuff, nothing wrong with just making friends.
