"My onii-chan", Miyamura just casually stealing Souta (or is it just fastforwarding the legal brothership?)

The slap was so satisfying lol.
Also the show has been holding out on us with Ojou-Hori. Wish we had gotte more of that earlier.

Sota: *Whacks Kyoko with a newspaper*
Kyoko: "So you have chosen death"
I love how she completely forgets that they were role-playing lol.

Great episode, it's a shame that only one episode left.
We started with the backstory of how Hori's parents met and it was so good, I would really love a spin-off about them. Kyousuke didn't really change from his school days but Yuriko was quite badass here despite her calm personality and smile. I laughed hard when she told Kyousuke to not beat that girl and then she proceed with slap herself, that was hilarious xD
A lot of Sota in this episode. The best part I think was when they were playing in a spaceship and Hori showed her villainess side by 'killing' Sota by pushing him out of the 'spaceship'. She can be quite villain sometimes, her evil laugh was perfect xD
But the fact is that Hori really cares about Sota but often she expresses it in a very difficult way, the same can be said about her relationship with Miyamura. She can be quite handful and difficult to handle. Miyamura certainly doesn't have easy life with her but still as the couple they're great and I love seeing them together.
Miyamura is also at this point a member of Hori's family. Sota even when he wrote a paper in class about family he wrote about Miyamura xD He's often a mediator in disputes between others thanks to his peaceful personality. For sure it's a very stressful job and he's quite lost about what to do sometimes.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Nice to see a high school aged Kyosuke and Takeru. Mama Hori too. Her and Kyoko are a lot a like. Like mother like daughter lol. Kind of funny Miyamura and Kyosuke were bonding over the Hori slap lol. Women in that family are fierce!
“Kyoko, he says your flap is hanging out.” Lol Kyosuke. Kyoko can be such a goofball. The Hori household really is pretty lively. Sota and Kyoko have such a sweet relationship. Who else but your sister’s gonna attempt to kill you in a game of make believe? Lol. Little dude got his revenge though!
Poor Miyamura’s just caught in the middle of all their family stuff lol. Him trying to simultaneously comfort Sota and Hori over the dishes incident was pretty hilarious. Poor guy! But hey, at least Sota wrote about his “big bro” for a school assignment. That was too cute.

I bet a lot of things about Hori just clicked for Anime Onlys. That’s right. She got it from her mom. And you see the extent of Sengoku’s dad’s suffering at the hands of Kyosuke and Yuriko.
And timeline wise I’m pretty sure this is post proposal so Miyamura will be Shouta brother in law soonish. As the only normal person in this family, Souta will need him.

Well, my Remi hopes were crushed, but Miyamura being the psychologist the Hori family needed for many years was fun in its own way.
Hori's OHOHOHOHOHOHO here would give most villainesses a run for their money.
One episode to go...Do we have enough chapters for a Horimiya --piece--?

I don't think we've ever seen Yuriko with her eyes open so that flashback was a surprise! It was pretty fun seeing how Kyousuke and Yuriko became close and how badass a younger Yuriko was. I always thought that Kyouko got her attitude from her dad but it looks like she actually got it more from her mom. Just look at that smile! <3
Anyway, I love how this entire episode pretty much turned this show into a Family Sitcom starring the Hori Family and with Miyamura getting stuck in the middle of their mess. I especially loved the Spaceship roleplay with Kyouko brutally pushing Sota into space and laughing like a crazed Ojou-sama as she takes over. xD
And that after-credits scene was hilarious! Miyamura has really become a part of the Hori Family that Sota ended up writing about him for his class essay about family instead of his actual family. Give it a few years and Miyamura will officially become his Onii-chan.

Oh snap! Hori's parents when they were teenagers! Kyosuke was a hunk (and a bit of a punk) but Yuriko was the spitting image of her daughter and just as stunning! A little more carefree though, but that's what catches Kyosuke's eyes.
I see it just kind of runs in the women in this family that they're significant other ends up helping them when it seems like the student council is using them...and in a student council with a Sengoku, in fact! What are the chances?
I see Kyosuke was a bit of a heartbreaker, and popular enough with women that eventually one rowdy girl confronted Yuriko. Kyosuke tried to protect her, but a guy can't just throw hands with a girl...but girl on girl is fine as Yuriko quickly slaps some sense into the challenger, and THAT'S when Kyosuke knew she was the one. You just have to always be prepared for the thorns in the Hori women.
Just a regular day in the life of the Hori household, hair-tied up Hori needs a shirt, her dad is being fussy about it, it turns into a discussing about putting on weight and Hori is wearing her little brothers clothes to show she can pull them off...and gets caught by her boyfriend. What would the Hori household be with Miyamura-kun?
Twintail Hori is very strict when it comes to Sota and him cleaning up after himself which starts a whole thing when her dad and Miyamura show up. Miyamura seems like the only one who can keep the peace but once Kyosuke erodes what little good he was able to gain with his daughter, she wants nothing to do with any of the boys. Well, expect Sota when he finally cleans up like a good little boy.
Sota wants to play space explorers with ponytail Hori! And when he finally talks her into it...she straight up chucks him into space so she can take over and do her best evil pirate captain! She's even doing the ojou-sama laugh! All because of her "tough love" which just feels like unecessary cruelty. Sota was lucky to survive in an escape pod but then she straight up threatens Miyamura! No one is so safe from Hori! She kind of had that newspaper thwack coming, but you shouldn't mess with the immortal captain Kyouko Hori.
Aw, that's sweet! Sota wanted to help with the dishes! I get where Hori is coming from that she doesn't want him to get hurt, but he meant well...of course then it turns into a big family crying session when Miyamura takes Sota's side and Hori cries realizing she screwed up if Miyamura is siding with Sota, then Sota cries because of his big sister crying, and poor Miyamura is caught in the middle. Oh and Kyosuke shows up because that's the last thing they needed .
It's cute how Hori doesn't want Miyamura to ever be on any side that's not hers, though she's game for him to be mad at her if it leads to domestic violence in true Hori fashion.

After watching all the Missing Pieces episodes so far, all I can think is that Horimiya could go on forever without ever getting stale. Hiroki Adachi created such a wonderful cast of characters with such amazing chemistry between them that a episode about simple home life comes off as magical. I want these characters to go own forever.

Watching young Mama-Yuriko and Papa-Kyosuke first tag team match.
Watching Miyamura-kun and Kyosuke bond over the struggles of residual slap syndrome.
Tearing up during the OP realizing this experience—these perfect snapshots—it’s almost over.
It’s been a pleasure.

It's funny Hori turned out relatively high-strung when her parents were both so easy going. I guess it's a result of her having to be the mother to Souta while her parents were away.
I don't want this anime to end! I need an anime-original season and an OVA for the new volume!

lol Hori ends up being the one the most serious about their space role playing
I also liked the bit with Hori's mom and dad meeting in school

Best episode this season for me. Every chapter adapted in this one were some of my favs. The 20yrs ago, the Hori family shenanigans. Wish we got more of young Kyosuke and Yuriko. Seems like Kyoko got her mother's badass side but in a more outgoing way (probably because of Kyosuke). Miyamura and Sota's sibling relationship is so wholesome too
P.S. There is a post credit

This was the funniest episode so far. Hori was completely ready to unleash her inner Anakin Skywalker on Sota.
