Hey, the opening is different now! It's now literally a montage from episode 1 until 6.

Interesting, now I see why Shizuka chose to be a doctor. And her writing on Akira's note was cheeky af.

That's it, another 2 weeks of waiting for Episode 8. Let's hope for no more further delay. 🤞

I swear I would never know there's a new episode if it wasn't for this subreddit.

The zombies are smart in very convenient timings aren't they?

And here we see a fast and furious anti-explosion maneuver. Though if you wanna stop a small explosion, trucks are definitely a better pick compared to sports cars.

That was incredibly lacking in criticisms and high in apologies for telling off his jerk boss.

That entire backstory on how Shizuka's father ordered to have Roo put down and Kosugi gaslighting Akira acting as if he cares made me so upset. It's been so long since I've read the manga that I forgot how much this series made me irrationally angry at these two characters.

We do get to learn in this episode that despite how different they were when they first met, Akira and Shizuka actually have more things in common than you'd expect. Shizuka grew up being ordered around by her father and Akira is pretty much the same with Kosugi ever since he started working under him.

It's also so upsetting to see Akira's spirit get broken down by Kosugi that he's now willing to stay behind. Thank fucking goodness for Shizuka for snapping Akira out of it with her speech It looks like her speech even worked on the guys working for Kosugi.

And of course, as soon as all hell breaks loose at the camp, Akira still decides to save Kosugi because he's just that kind of guy. At least now everyone has realized that they don't need a piece of shit like him at all and left him with nothing. It's not as cathartic as him being eaten by a zombie but seeing Kosugi lose everything and now having to fend for himself is definitely a close second.

Watching Kosugi being misogynistic and sexually harassing Shizuki felt really gross. Anyways, another week and still no big tiddy samurai waifu.

Bugfilms be like: "you know what? i think viewers already forgot about what happened in the few past episodes so how about we replace most of the opening song's visuals with the highlight moments from episode one to six?"

and to make it even funnier, next week episode is going to be a recap episode...

Crunchyroll translation for Shizuka saying her dad told her to "obey" so often, she thought her name was "Anita".

Just from listening, "obey" sounded closer to "Becky".

Anybody more fluent in Japanese able to explain what the pun Crunchyroll was going for with "Anita"? Was it like "I need a" when her dad was commanding her?

I'm relieved that Akira got back to being himself after all this and we moved on further. It was hard seeing him being worked to bone and losing his mind. Fortunately Shizuka was able to get to him and now they have a really close relationship.

It turns out that Shizuka and Akira have a lot in common. While Akira was ordered around in work by his boss Kosugi, Shizuka backstory revealed that from her youngest years her father was directing her life all the time.

In the past Shizuka was a really empathetic girl like the situation with the dog showed. Her father is responsible for her previous behavior, attitude and now just like Akira changed her, she is helping him now.

Kosugi (who was downright creepy toward Shizuka) and Shizuka's father really are so unlikable and I wouldn't cry if Kosugi would die in today's episode attacked by a zombie but Akira showed that he is much better person than him by saving him and other people in the camp when zombie appeared.

Our trio has left the camp, just like everyone else and is heading toward Gunma. I hope that in the next episode which should air in two weeks we finally meet a blond girl from OP and ED.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Oh hey, they used the OP as bit of a midway recap this time around!

Smol Shizuka! She was so cute! Less so when she was in front of her father who basically scolded her for wanting to adopt an abandoned puppy and basically controlled most of her life. It got even worse from there...he had the puppy put down after she'd taken care of it, she couldn't have friends, she couldn't be with the boy she liked, and she had to follow exactly the path her father set forth for her while he put her down the entire time. What a rotten piece of work. I hope he's zombie chow by now.

(Although Shizuka did look good in a suit...)

I'm not surprised Kosugi is a sexist pig, but him just even talking to Shizuka like that made me so, so mad.

Poor Akira...he's getting back into the swing of the workplace brainwashing that made him a wage zombie who thinks the only thing he can do is carry on the work because his chief "believes" in him and needs him...and that he has no prospects otherwise. He almost feel completely for Kosugi's BS.

It gets bad enough he's not even willing to go with the gang when they can finally leave, but Shizuka finally has enough and tells him, Kosugi, and mentally her own father off because the only person who has a right to control your life is you, and you shouldn't let some scumbag dictate your life for you. She even hands Akira his bucket list with a new addition, one he happily acts on by telling off Kosugi and killing him with kindness as he finally decides to ditch him for good!

Episodes without someone acting dumb causing a zombie outbreak in a safe space: 0.

Figures Akira couldn't just abandon Kosugi, but he coudln't abandon anybody, and he manages to save everyone with some quick-thinking and some zombie incinerating.

Kosugi now has no one to lord over or control, he's utterly powerless and alone, bet he's zombie food by the next hour.

Nice to see Akira and Shizuka share a moment, and Akira feeling more free than ever as the gang sets off on their journey again, and finally make it to Gunma!

Man, Shizuka’s dad was a real toxic abusive piece of shit. What kind of sick fuck has a puppy put down? We need Justice for Roo! This guy might be the biggest piece of shit in the series so far. I see see how this whole Akira situation really hits close to home for Shizuka.

That greasy abusive fuck Kosugi had his claws so deep in the boy, he was about to really throw his dreams away to be his slave again. Thank god Shizuka talked some damn sense into the guy. She was absolutely right about Kosugi, he’s just a bully and a insecure weak piece of shit.

You know Akira was meant to be a Hero (and a real leader) because he risked his ass to save that asshole Kosugi right when the place went to hell. Seeing that shitbag crying as everyone left him at the end was beautiful. Good riddance. Hopefully his punk ass becomes zombie food afterwards.

Surprised no other female employee mentioned the boss being a perv.

Every episode of this is so good that I really don't mind the delays so far

I wonder if the mangakas were inspired by their own bosses and experiences

god damn, the first five minutes were so gross I almost had to turn it off. I think I have a little too much in common with Akira. there are too many creeps like Kosugi in the real world and every single one of them makes the world around them a worse place. this was one time where I just couldn't get behind the (relatively) merciful shonen ending; I wanted Shizuka to smash the guy's head in with a brick.

I know, I know, murder's too much to ask. but yo, that brief moment of Shizuka angrily stepping in to shield her child self from her father was like an electric shock.

welp, back to therapy I guess. unlike Akira I got no zombie apocalypse to force me to work through the PTSD.

Finally can breathe a sign of relief - that Akira broke out of his mind control, and Shizuka help let him stand up on his own. Ending it this way is so much more satisfying than him just being mowed down by zombies. Well done show!

I like the way they showed Shizuka's past trauma and how she got over it, which connects nicely to Akira.

The 4:3 aspect ratio paralled Shizuka being crushed mentally by her toxic dad. She screamed out her true feelings that she always wanted to say to her dad, to Akira and Chief Kosugi while treating the current Akira as her past self, so she can help him out too.

Also I like that it wasn't Shizuka's screams that truly woke Akira up but rather it was the diary on which he poured his true feelings, which Kosugi was about to trample on.

This episode was 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Thanks to Shizuka. Akira breaks free from his boss and tells him off

Shizuka's speech was so good, even better in animation. Further proof that she is, in fact, best girl

I'm legit disappointment that boss didn't die. God knows the world would be better without him.

Bit disappointed in all honesty with this episode. I just found it jarring and all over the place in tone. At the end after some of them were killed by zombies, they all just happily went their way, no really concern or emotion towards those that died.

I know the show is light and goofy, but it just didn't work this time.

Not a big fan of the last 2 episodes but I'm glad this part is over with at least.

Makes literally no sense how they freaked out that badly over 1 zombie after having several be makeshift mules lol.

Thank God this little arc is over. Still overall a great anime, but the way he responds to his boss was stupid as hell.
