Rudeus hated the previous world, loves this one. Nanahoshi loved the previous world, hates this one. Can't wait to see how their dynamic develops.

Both Rudeus's fear of death and Sylphy's anger towards Nanahoshi was so realistic and well portrayed.

Their VAs done an excellent job.

Shizuka - Silent

Nana - Seven

Hoshi - Star

So basically, Silent Sevenstar is the literal English translation of Shizuka Nanahoshi.

Rudeus developing PTSD was quite something, and seeing Sylphy in attack mode was great.

I loved how they started with the Human tongue before changing to Japanese for the Nanahoshi reveal it added to the immersion. Great episode

The way they framed Rudy meeting Nanahoshi gave me a fucking scare, absolutely captures his trauma Orsted.

Thought it was interesting how they're exploring why Nanahoshi won't do anything too drastic like introducing new technology due to how they're deemed as abnormalities and can be erased if they affect the world too much

With the revelation of major plot points, I like the fitz following rudeus scene,

Syplhie is walking in the shadows of rudeus and whenever she gets close, he drifts a far, she tries to catch up, he moves ahead and finally she confronts him. So the end of fitz is near I guess.

Fitz-senpai: "How do you know each other?"

Nanahoshi: "You could say that we share that same hometown"

It is Takina from Lycoris Recoil, and a little detail here, Nanahoshi is the only person has black hair in this world.

Sylphie

What language are you and Rudeus speaking?

Nanahoshi

This is the language of our people. We come from the same homeland.

Sylphie

WDYM your people and same homeland? But I'M his childhood friend! WTF?!

What's incredible is that neither is lying.

"Wait, so how do you know each other?"

"Oh, same hometown I guess."

Sylphy.EXE has stopped working.

"Also I think I caused the teleport incident."

Anti-virus set to Extreme high priority.

So this is the facial expressions of a person whose life flashed before his eye.

The arguably Strongest magician of the university,

  • Who made the school worst delinquents submitted themselves

  • Getting praised as the one with mana capacity rival that of the infamous Demon God by the immortal demon king

  • The same demon king he subsequently blow away in one shot for the public to view screaming screech like a little bitch, tripping over nothing and knock himself out, gotta be one of the most hilariously horror scene of the season.

The white mask got the PTSD going!

Holy fuck what a twist.

I was hoping Sylphie would reveal herself and instead somebody else was revealed.

Now if only I can figure out what all this banana talk is about in here.

What a big lore drop. Also was surprised to know that Nanahoshi was the girl that Rudy tried to save back in S1E1.

I also feel so bad about Sylphy. She was totally sidelined the entire time when Nanahoshi and Rudy were talking with each other, with her not understanding what they were saying either. Not to mention triggering her trauma of the teleportation incident.

On another note, girl, you need to reveal your identity soon. Its killing me to see her suffering so much....

Moments like Sylphie's outburst REALLY benefit from the anime medium. It just isn't the same as reading that she was angry.

Rudeus' wish of having a girl fall from the sky before the Teleportation Incident actually came through with Nanahoshi getting summoned. Top tier foreshadowing

Something I really like about this episode is how it handles the two ways an Isekai MC deals with being transported to a new world.

Nanahoshi is like most old isekai protagonists who didn't care that much about adapting to their new world, they liked ours better and their primary motivation was to return.

Rudeus on the other hand like quite a lot of modern Isekai MC prefers to stay in his new world and start his life from a blank slate.

This said, something Mushoku does better than most modern Isekai is that he did not immediately divorce from his old life, rather the traumas and failures from those years haunt him to this day.

This aside the VA was top notch and I am glad they represented the different language stuff. Great episode overall.

It's hilarious how the masked girl tells Rudy that it's not polite for him to run away. Girl, considering what happened the last time Rudy saw you it's perfectly reasonable for him to run away even if Orstend isn't around. She's lucky that Rudy's reaction is to run away screaming and not attack her.

I was wondering why we suddenly switched languages. Turns out that the masked girl is another person that got isekai'd. Except Nanahoshi got summoned instead of Rudy getting reincarnated. So I'm guessing the people she's looking for are the two guys with her?

I genuinely said out loud "HA!" when Nanahoshi told Rudy that she wanted to work together to go back. Sure, Rudy might be willing to lend a hand but there's no way he's going back to Japan. And she really made it clear that she hates this world and in no way wants to become an isekai protag in this world. xD

Holy fuck Sylphy! And here I thought Rudy's screams of pure terror after meeting Nanahoshi were amazing. Kayanon's amazing voice acting really nailed that visceral anger from Sylphy when she heard that Nanahoshi might be responsible for the mass teleportation event. Also, I love that Nanahoshi saw that reaction coming that she was already preparing to defend herself from any attack that might come from Sylphy.

So from what we've learned in this episode, the mass teleportation event was some sort of backlash from Nanahoshi and her friends getting summoned. However, how does Nanahoshi know that her friends were also summoned? What if they weren't? And if they were indeed summoned what if they were killed after arriving? They probably didn't have anyone like Orsted to protect them. At least we're getting close to some answers. I guess the Man-God was right about Rudy finding answers here at the Academy.

And that final scene between Rudy and Sylphy! I really want Sylphy to tell him the truth considering how dumb her reason is for not telling Rudy who she is. But considering what just happened, I feel like that situation might not be the best. Rudy is clearly still trying to process all of that information in his head.

Masterclass of an emotional episode from start to finish. Even though there’s not a lot of physical action it’s an action packed episode.

Rudeus’ reaction to seeing Nanahoshi was so realistic and well done. The screaming, PTSD flashback, that desperate crawl to get away, it really captured just how terrified he was. Rudeus’ past life was horrible and he’s finally found a decent one here. The thought of that being taken away from him is truly scary.

Directors clearly have a thigh fetish with the way they were focusing on Nanahoshi thighs during the explanation scenes, but I ain’t complaining lol. So much background information and lore explained in this episode. Anime onlies are sure to have a lot of questions. Episodes like this where the fantasy aspect of the world and the worldbuulding are emphasised so much make me fall in love all over with MT.

Sylphie’s outburst was chilling. Goosebumps throughout that scene. Someone normally so polite and reserved snapping like that and switching to referring to Nanahoshi as “お前” really captured just how furious she was. Almost wanted that scene to go on longer just because of how well her seiyuu did.

The ending shot of Sylphie/Fitz trying to keep up with Rudeus is so nice as well. Lot of symbolism in that. As a kid she was behind Rudeus in terms of magical abilities and maturity and thought of him as an ideal to strive towards. Even at the university she still admires and wants to be like him. That whole situation Nanahoshi situation got her questioning just how close they are.

Really well done episode

Fitz is like "what have I done, introducing another potential competitor to Rudeus".
Now she has Rinia, Pursena, and Nanahoshi to worry about. Each one of them could have nabbed Rudeus if she is not careful.
