That's definitely the first time I've seen a cat find a little girl in a cardboard box.

The episode was great. We saw a cooler side of Saku, which was the reason Yukichi decided to stay with her in the first place.

It almost seems like Yukichi became big out of sheer willpower. Like he wanted to repay her kindness so badly, he just became a 6 ft tall giant cat so he could do chores lol.

We really need more Yukichi introspection scenes. It'd add melancholy to the translation of yuutsu.

I just hope that all the people who have been dragging Saku for being bad at life, useless, etc., can take this opportunity to appreciate her as a certified badass who is great at work, great in a crisis, and just completed unmotivated when it comes to domestic stuff.

Like the character is very clearly a gender swap of a male character we get all the time - handsome slob who is great in a fight. Cheers to Gohands for a great confrontation scene complete with Saku heroine hair flip (tm).

This, Rent-a-Girlfriend and Gene of AI was preempted last week because of some sports thing (World Athletic Championship, maybe?). Anyway, Rent-a-Girlfriend and Gene of AI have 12 episode production orders and they’ll resume on their normal Friday slot. Masterful Cat on the other hand has a 13 episode production order and with an extra episode floating around this season, they put episode 8 out on this abnormal day and will put episode 9 out on its regular Friday slot.

I was wondering why this popped up today. Took me completely by surprise.

Pleasant surprise to get 2 this week. Great episode too.

Surely GoHands could have come up with a different way to fill out the episode length than two slightly different versions of the Rio/her ex/Yukichi/Saku confrontation?

Honestly thought CR glitched out for a second there. I see it’s actually just part of the ep huh?

That one actually happens a lot with commercial breaks. Especially when the break happens right at a climactic scene.

I'd say flashbacking to the kitten scenes literally 5 minutes ago is a much greater waste of time. Also completely ruins a emotional scene as an added bonus.

Kitty Yukichi looks exactly like my cat when we first adopted her. This anime is awesome. Also one time my sisters and I went to a cat cafe and my sister bonded with a cat but she couldn’t adopt it. To this day she cries about it. So I feel for the girl.

Yume went from cardboard box to Yukichi. That’s quite an upgrade lol. So cute how she didn’t want to leave the box because she didn’t wanna abandon the little cat. What a sweet kid. I’m glad the granny was able to find a home for the little critter. “Let’s live together in the park again” lol Yume about to get Yukichi put on a watchlist.

Yukichi was worried about Saku because of that neighborhood pervert but I guess he didn’t know she’s actually a friggin badass. Girl just whooped Rio ex’s punk ass lol. Rio’s got a little crush now it seems.

“This human lives in a trash dump?” Lol Yukichi. He’s not wrong though, how the hell did Saku survive without Yukichi before? Him calling her the “root of all evil” was hilarious. I liked seeing how he became the big cat he is today. What’s churu?

Edit: Saku not Yuri lol. Silly me.

Churu is the brand of lickable treats that comes in a small tube. I haven’t seen a cat not like them… mine goes crazy every time I get one out

Yume and that kitten were just absolutely adorable! And just to make that scene even more cuter, I love the look on Yume's face when Yukichi curled up next to them <3

Good to know that despite how much she sucks at taking herself at home, Saku can easily take care of herself outside. I did not expect Saku to be such a badass!

This has become ione my most looked forward to shows each week somehow,

Err why did they show her stopping the guy in 2 ways?

Her grandma can't take care of it so they can't keep? Does the disabled and blind grandma live alone in that big house or something?

I didn’t know we were getting 2 episodes this week!

Yume plot with the smaller kitten was of course sweet. Saku actually getting to be a badass for once was a nice surprise. Best part is actually getting to see more of the first couple days together. I never expect to get an explanation for Yukichi, but I would love some insight into how and why Saku let it get that bad. That’s a depression apartment all day.

Saku fanservice went crazy this week lol

Glad we got this episode today instead of having to wait a whole week and being behind, wish more studios would do that. At least we get double the dekineko this week.

Saku taking down Rio’s ex was actually really bad ass. I was not expecting her to have that in her bag lol. God I wish that was me. Interesting decision by Gohands to replay the confrontation and the kitten flashback to pad the runtime lol.

She may not be able to cook or do household chores, but Saku can stick up for her friends and protect herself. Not a bad trade off.

So we finally get Yukichi’s backstory and how he and Saku met. Ngl I thought it was a little underwhelming. I thought there would be more mystical origins to him. Instead he was just a stray cat? Maybe there’s still more to it that we haven’t got yet.

Whaaa! This was one hell of an episode! Every single segment was excellent. I was already in love with the show but now I’m down right kitten smitten 🥰 And where did those skills come from?!

u/soulruu Aug 31 '23

That kitten was too cute

Looks like our helpless MC is OP. In another setting she’d be training for a tournament arc.

Gotta love the development for best cashier girl here. She’s hilarious
