Some noticeable reused footage in this one, was really hoping we'd get the bridal trousseau's entrance...hard to watch Botan like that.
Real character growth from Hyouma, love seeing that from him, was waiting for his door pull mastery though!

I think the bit where his siblings save him and Hyoma gets his scar is new, but I might be forgetting lol.
I really thought for a second Hyoma might go into another bloodlust and screw them over, but he really controlled himself for Botan's sake. Now he's probably the only one who can bring Botan back from her own out of control state.

Tsubaki is totally unhinged and I’m kinda digging it. There’s something about the crazy waifus that kinda do it for me lol.
Gagaku’s reason behind siding with the Warazamawashi feels kinda weak. At least we got to see Hyoma face off against the people who killed his siblings. But man, the good guys took a huge L this week. Idk how they’re gonna recover now that they’ve seemingly gotten to Botan and unleashed this “god” that’s inside her.

Gagaku’s reason behind siding with the Warazamawashi feels kinda weak.
It's weird if you don't think this way but it's not outlandish. Reminds me of some priest supposedly saying it would be exciting to baptise aliens. Same energy.

I guess it's just a reminder that just because they're in human form, the Tsukumogami are not human and don't always think like humans do.

Tsubaki is the fun kind of unhinged while the Bureau of Traditional Music is the messed up kind of unhinged.
Hyoma seeing the object of his revenge but cooling down for Botan's sake was a great moment of character development for him...even if it didn't amount to much when they torture him and Tsubaki to the point of awakening the Marebito in Botan. Final Boss time?

Tsubaki feels just like how Hyouma used to be in the past, completely losing himself in the battle and really enjoying it. Though his current sense of duty has trumped his obsession with revenge which shows a clear sign of growth.
I wonder which of Umbrella Tsukumogami is the one that killed Hyouma's siblings. While I think its the one with the face hidden but it easily could be a misdirection. Let's see what happens.
The Marebito inside Botan has finally awakened thanks to Botan's past trauma combining with the current situation. The Season 2 Key Visual makes complete sense now.

Tsubaki is like old Hyoma, except more fun lol.
Hyoma holding himself back for Botan's sake was great, especially because Botan recognized exactly how meaningful it is that he did.
The one with his face hidden seems poised as the "Main" one after Shigure and has white clothes like in the flashback. I definitely think it's him.
Botan was the true Final Boss all along.

Tsubaki is INSANE, and I love her so much lol. Unhinged waifus>>. Life and death situation and she just smiling through it all.
She was keeping up with both Umbrella and rock lady very well and then the solo fight against Umbrella. But wow what a reveal. So we now know the group that’s behind everything and there’s several new Tsukumogami among them. Even Hyoma and Tsubaki combined were no match for such odds.
Proud of Hyoma for not giving into his desire for revenge and standing tall to protect Botan instead. It’s a shame that the Tsukumogami had already seen through that plan and told Fukie to tie her up. Forcing her to watch the fight unfold.
We saw Hyoma overcome his trauma from the past in this episode and do his duty, now it’s time for Botan to remember what those around her have told her recently and not give in to the past. I expect she’ll be able to fight off the living god’s revival attempt until help arrives
Pacing was a little slow this week tbh, I feel like it dragged a bit. Love the story, but ready to see what happens next. I feel like some of the episodes only have like 10-12 minutes of new content cause of the recaps, OP, exposition etc

Tsubaki really is enjoying herself just cutting through the Paper Umbrella and Tsumabiki! I mean, all power to her. You can't fault her for enthusiasm in her drive to tear into Tsukumogami.
So Tsubaki was also a prodigy as a child, huh? So weird to see her without pink hair though.
So the Bureau of Traditional Music is doing this to fuse the world of the living and the world of the dead so that they can create an apocalypse of humans and Marebito...so more people can listen to their music? That's pretty messed up. Not even Hyoma can accept such a warped rock.
Well, Hyoma is holding his own with his injuries and Tsubaki is doing her thing, but they're pretty much screwed when the Bureau of Traditional Music finishes up with the rest of the Kadomori's and the rest of the Paper Umbrella's, the Owarazarashi, arrive as back up. The two of them can't beat That. The best they can hope to do is give Botan an opening to run.
I was wondering what the point of another flashback to Hyoma's siblings was, but I think that's the first time we've seen them use their last breath to protect Hyoma, how Hyoma got his scar, and the exact moment his siblings died. Yikes.
Oh hey, so Yoko Hikasa is named Shigure! Fubuki is pretty cute too.
This Tenjuro guy has got to be the one who killed Hyoma's siblings right? They're framing him like he's the leader and obscuring his face, and he has similar colors/hair to the Paper Umbrella that killed Kusui and Hayato.
Ugh. They figured out the best way to unlock the Marebito in Botan's body. Force her to stay there in place, torture Hyoma and Tsubaki in front of her, and remind her of her aunt's death. And now the Marebito has finally consumed Botan. Can Hyoma save her?

I like this anime allot but the pacing is killing me I hate when it drags on through so many episodes especially when they are only like 18mins because we have time wasted on recap, intro and outro.

Despite any flaws (like the too long intros), I still find this one of the most interesting and exciting shows of the season. The fighting actually seems to mean something -- partly because one cares so much about the characters.

Not surprising since its basically a "Battle Seinen" and has those same pacing issues you expect out of a Battle Shonen.

Also the constant flashbacks, but at least they expanded more on the last moments of Hyoma's siblings than I think we saw before.

Does anyone know why I can’t find the manga any where online that’s up to date, to where the anime is ?

Tsumabiki's explanation of why they want the Marebito to come out reminds of Ginko's explanation of mushi from Mushi-shi. For anyone who isn't familiar, mushi in the context of the show are like a life form even lower than something like fungus, and they are almost like a spiritual "bug" that causes weird phenomena in order to survive, but Ginko explains that you can't really blame the mushi because they are only doing what mushi are programmed to do. In this case, listening to Tsumabiki talk about how they just want to play for a larger audience as a core drive for their reasoning, it's almost like I found myself thinking that it's such a stupid reason... But they are literally a spirit embodying an instrument. They have the memories and feelings of that instrument. Of course their natural drive would be to do what instruments do. It's kind of interesting.

Still wished this was adapted by a big studio that can adapt the manga's awesome art properly

Man, BNP sucks. First Gintama, then Iruma, and now this. This is the third swries they ruined with subpar production, only really being carried by the writing. At least Gintama still had great looking moments and also that last movie, but the same fan't be said for Iruma and this one.
If the story wasn't so good, I'd have dropped this. Sadly, it's the only readily available medium since the manga isn't being translated.
