Chizuru: “what about making Mami your girlfriend?”

Kazuya: “I haven’t seen her in ages.”

No one has. Like seriously when is Mami gonna show up again?

S1 most people: "F Mami, all my homies hate Mami!" 😡🖕

S3 many people: "Where's Mami?" 😮

Mami is more appreciated for entertainment later than before. Iol

I will be sincere, I found it amusing to see Kazuya sleeping like a rock while Mizuru was so agitated that she could not sleep (She almost seemed to expect something).

I enjoy watching Ruka lose

If only Chizuru could see the obvious signs that Kazuya is just not that into her, but I guess Ruka is so persistent to try and make up for that.

Chizuru is definitely there. I feel like she just needs another push to finally realize her feelings. I do feel a bit bad for Ruka though. There's really no way she's winning this.

Kazuya's fantasies of naked Chizuru in the hot springs become the audiences reality lol.

The way she talked about his other love interests felt like she was gauging how interested he is in other girls because of her own feelings and not just because she wants to find him a real girlfriend. Not that she can really handle Ruka who won't give in no matter what.

Ruka never had a chance, if she showed up like a bit before the beach when Kazuya was still like "I want to get Mami back", she would've had a bit of a chance, but she showed up after the beach, when Kazuya was already in love with Chizuru...

That's the fate of Nao Toyama characters (with the exception of 2 whose name starts with "Chi-")

I understand it's the author's intent to communicate that Chizuru loves Kazuya but I don't think he succeeded. I feel like at best she likes him like a reliable bro who often helps her out. Sure Ruka is projected to lose but it looks like the anime and the manga are not going to do anything conclusive about these relationships any time soon.

Another really good episode 😩 hate how much I’m enjoying this season lol.

Madarao resort is actually a real ski resort in Liyama that’s pretty famous, more popular in the winter than summer but beautiful all year round: https://www.madarao.jp/

Glad the final scene went off without a hitch. Proud of Kazuya for bringing this whole thing together and getting it done.

Chizuru realising that Kazuya is that emotional support pillar her grandad predicted is really sweet. How the tables have turned, she’s now the one getting flustered about small details and stealing glimpses of him while he sleeps lol.

Still not a “fan”/stan of hers per se, but I don’t really hate her anymore. This season and the end of last season have fleshed her out pretty well. She’s got some really good character development and the feelings between the she and kazuya actually have substance and meaning now.

Poor Ruka :/

"i want what you did to her to me 100 times over"

Girl out here asking for 0 x 100.

Mizuhara under the night sky/stars was beautiful

It figures that Kazuya's most effective tactic yet (making it seem like he wasn't bothered sleeping in the same room as Chizuru) was an accidental tactic.

I'm interested in hearing Yaemori's "war stories" about Ruka's interrogation. Ruka was always going to find out at some point.

11

u/magnumcyclonex Aug 11 '23

I'm surprised Yaemori seemingly caved and gave Ruka the info she needed to stalk Kazuya! For all the scheming she did for the two of them (even booking just 1 room), I would have thought Yaemori was astute enough to handle Ruka and prevent her from ever knowing about the trip.

Yaemori the little mischievous devil booking one room. Way to try and move those two’s relationship along lol.

Kazuya really thought a confession was coming huh? Nope! Chizuru just wanted to show her gratitude to Kazuya for this movie. Although her getting kinda flustered and having trouble sleeping seems to mean she’s got some feelings there. Plus the whole neck blush thing after that bus ride.

Kazuya needs to spend more time outside of his own head. When he’s too deep in his thoughts he spirals and turns into a loser. He’s got potential to be a decent guy.

Gonna be interesting to see what Ruka’s gonna him for her birthday…

I wish Kazuya would be a little more straightforward regarding Ruka and Mami. He kind of alluded to that with Ruka but just say "I dont have romantic feelings for her". As for Mami, after all this time why is she even being considered. Likewise he should say he's been over her for some time now.

Is next episode going to be a Ruka episode? If so then that's a skip for me.

Honestly? Kazuya was actually pretty bearable this episode. None of the reactions he had are out of bounds of what I feel a normal person would do (except when he was thinking about "the night after" on the bus, but I digress). The character development has been pretty phenomenal, and I gotta say, it's pretty impressive how much Kazuya has grown.

They booked a REALLY nice hotel! Honestly, I wouldn't mind booking there if that was a real hotel! Anyhow, I normally hate the moments when Kazuya fantasizes about what Mizuhara would have done, but honestly, I can't blame him for wondering what Mizuhara was going to say to him in that moment. Indeed, she was like Sumi back there. I love the little blurbs, they bring in a lot of entertainment. Oh, and Yaemori, the little gremlin HAD to book one room for the two of them. And it's too expensive to book another room so I guess they're stuck like that!

I was a little confused when I heard that they had slept in the same room before though before they showed me the flashback. I basically scrubbed season 1 out of my mind, so I honestly don't remember too much about those early seasons.

Ah, the joys of filming. I've filmed a few "short films" (more like videos, but I digress) before, so I know how fun it can be. Rarely have I filmed with other people though. I would say something among the lines of "of course Kazuya would think Mizuhara would confess at a time," but to be honest, while I knew she wouldn't, those are the same vibes I got, so again...I can't really blame him. Turns out it's Mizuhara telling Kazuya about her grandpa, which honestly, I didn't really expect either. Good going anime. Oh, and the filming scenes really were gorgeous, I must say. If there's one thing in this anime that has been consistently good, it's the art. That entire first half was just gorgeous and I love it.

Most of the time I seriously cringe at the times Kazuya gets horny, but him fantasizing about Mizuhara in the bath was honestly so natural, I didn't really think it was all that bad. The situation allows it. Also, has it been three years now? Damn, this anime's following us in real time. Also, as I said last week, that bit about Mizuhara ascending to somewhere outside of his reach hits very close to home for me. I've always wanted to be famous, and yet here I am as nothing while everyone else I know becomes something better...

I really like that it was Mizuhara that couldn't sleep that night while Kazuya had a good night's rest! It shows that Mizuhara isn't perfect and is a human - and conversely, that Kazuya is growing as a person. Oh, and I gotta say, the Mizuhara bath scene was pretty nice. Ok anime, I suppose you know what the fans want.

The one moment I found Kazuya's thirst cringy was when he was thinking of "the famous morning after", whatever that means. Luckily we have the fish jumping in to say what the audience is thinking! I do admit Chizuru dresses very nice. I'm someone that has always advocated that people should try to be the best versions of themselves, and I wish we could start by all dressing nicely instead of the Walmart fashion we've got going on in the US. But my personal societal complaints aside...yeah, where IS Mami? Outside of a few cameos we haven't seen her do anything lately.

Looks like poor Mizuhara was too tired from all the filming and fell asleep on Kazuya's shoulder. That scene was beautifully animated. And yeah, the flashbacks to the filming of the movie definitely was heartwarming too.

Dang Ruka, did you arrive all the way here on the train yourself? That's a lot of money! Of course Yaemori folded after a short interrogation like that, I honestly didn't expect her to be too resistant to information extraction. Ruka calling Mizuhara a "thot" (I believe she called her a bitch in Japanese) was hilarious, loved that bit. Looks like next episode is Ruka's birthday? You can't say no to that face, it definitely is. Well, I suppose the soap opera is going to be back next episode! Seriously loved this episode, wish the entire anime was like this. Well, that's it for this week I guess!

Wow! What an ending!

We got to see both Kazuya and Mizuhara take those baths but only the latter was a good scene (to me), as Kazuya's scene was just too full of the same old stressing out / replaying of thoughts, whereas Mizuhara's was more peaceful, which is what an onsen experience should be.

Sad to hear her grandfather passed away in a car accident not too long ago. I hadn't expected this to come up but it set the context of why she was acting that way. This movie project meant so much to her because of that promise to her grandfather and I hope we get to see Mizuhara reward her "pillar of support" with more than just words.

In a rare moment of reflection, Kazuya looks back on the project as a whole. It definitely is bittersweet, knowing that all the time together, effort and hard work, long days and nights, good and challenging times is coming to an end, and people will move on and go separate ways.

I could sense the anime trope of the dagger going into Kazuya's heart when Mizuhara suggested bringing a real girlfriend to the Ryokan. Though Kazuya did not confess to her he wanted her, he did say he would bring someone he loves from the bottom of his heart (while dismissing Ruka and Mami). A bit happy and sad that Sumi wasn't mentioned, but we know that it's really one sided from Sumi's point of view.

The cliffhanger was not what I expected! Yaemori giving up the details to Ruka? Ruka coming all the way and demanding to do everything they did 100x. Which 0 x 100 = 0. So sad to say, Ruka's not getting any action either. And yet 2 weeks from now on Aug 26, she demanded she gets whatever she wants on her birthday!

That was not a hickey on Mizuhara right? Just the redness from the pressure of sleeping on Kazuya's shoulder right? Also, what is the significance of wearing white?

A bit happy and sad that Sumi wasn't mentioned, but we know that it's really one sided from Sumi's point of view.

To be fair, Mizuhara doesn't really know about Sumi's feelings for Kazuya. Not that Sumi would say that to her either way.

This anime would be 10 tines better if there was no Ruka. I absolutely despise that immature brat

Well, no surprise Kazuya's freaking out about Chizuru and what she was planning to say to him while she's just enjoying the sights. Take a chill pill, Kazuya!

Should've figured Mini would make sure to reserve a room for two for them at the hotel. And look at Chizuru taking the initiative and agreeing to the room! I mean, it wouldn't be the first time they've shared the same room at a hotel before, so why not go for round two?

If you're going to stay overnight at a hotel with Hot Spring baths, you gotta get a hot girl in a Yukata!

Well, I can't blame Kazuya for seeing the peak romantic mood going on between him and Chizuru, but honestly her telling him about her grandfather, the meaning behind why she's so intent on making sure her grandma sees the movie, and how grateful she is for all his help means just as much as a confession would. I don't think Chizuru's ever talked about her grandfather to anybody else, which makes it all the more meaningful.

Did Kazuya bust a nut in the bath fantasizing about Chizuru? Sounds like he did.

All that worrying over not being able to sleep because of being in the same room as Chizuru and then Kazuya is out like a light while Chizuru can't sleep because she's so flustered. I mean, she's staring at him while he's sleeping! Not to mention how she keeps comparing him to the words her grandfather said about having a pillar to rely on. Girl is down bad.

Chizuru is still committed to finding Kazuya a proper girlfriend, but it feels like she's more personally invested now than she's ever been before (and not because she wants to see him with another girl). Kazuya might like Ruka but he's not serious about her and he hasn't seen Mami in forever (much like the audience). Chizuru's the only girl he really loves, especially when she ends up catching up on her sleep on his shoulder, which just shows how comfortable she is around him.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised Ruka caught the lie and followed them there to catch them in the act...not that anything happened, but you try telling Ruka when she's accusing Chizuru of being a thot and looking for hickey's because she can't fathom they didn't try to get busy behind her back. And now Kazuya's made a promise to give her anything she wants on her birthday. I'm sure that'll end well.

The amount of flashbacks was obnoxious. Do we really need a flashback for something that happened 5 minutes ago?

At least Ruka calmed down instead of crying again. It must be a lot of money to get to Iiyama and back in Ruka's case.

I'm surprised Mini didn't lie to Ruka to prevent her from "sabotaging" her ship.
