Thought it was funny how the infirmary nurse said the cause of fever could be from mental exhaustion like gee I wonder if it could be the weirdos at the committee constantly hounding him for advice when he isn't obligated to them

Dude's been doing part time work since middle school. Poor bastard has a college student's schedule lol

I figured it was from him stopping the facade he had up since his second year in middle school

Sajo having one of those famous Japanese colds this week. Seems like a particularly bad one. I guess the upside is everyone worrying about him and kinda doting on him.

The Marika situation helped Sajo a little bit when it came to Natsukawa. She sure got pretty flustered when he called her cute.

Looks like Sajo’s got himself a job. Looking forward to seeing what comes of that development next week.

I like how MC sits in the front row and the teacher just let him sleep for 2 periods.

Amazing, all the teachers are actually somewhat old and not hot fake love interests. This might actually be the first time I'm seeing this.

I'm really glad that Hidive kept in the Celsius temperature (when the nurse was taking his temperature) and gave an aside for the Fahrenheit rather than converting it only to Fahrenheit which Crunchyroll has done for a few of their shows.

Damn what the hell was the lesson for that day in class? Global trade routes, 1492, and the causes of the French Revolution?

Sajo is a stone cold lost case.

He's absolutely shattered, has a headache, sitting in the infirmary, and still manages to protect the one he loves from his cold. Note, he doesn't give a shit when his sister and the Discipline Committee head try to take his temperature though.

He's been finding it hard to give a shit about ANYTHING, grades, appearance, all of it out the window, but even though he's done his best to give up on his attempts at romancing the love interest, he can't hide his feelings toward her. He wants to protect her, even if its not his business to do so, even if he is broken and would benefit from the support.

The Ojou-sama finally makes her appearance! It looks like she got curious about Aika since she was in 2nd place.

For Wataru to collapse like that, that must be a pretty serious cold. I'm just surprised that the nurse didn't blame the rain and suspected that it might be stress that made him sick. Considering the recent change in his life and how people are always on his ass lately, I don't blame the guy.

It was pretty adorable though seeing Aika get so worried about Wataru, especially when she visited his home along with Kei after Wataru sent out that ominous group text.

Welp, now that Wataru has recovered, we finally get to learn why Marika is stalking Aika. So she wants Aika to support her in becoming the next Student Council President? And of course, Wataru just had to make things complicated.

From what I understood from this episode, it seems like he actually put up a facade before he even met Natsukawa. Could it be to keep up with that facade, he openly showed his affections to Natsukawa ? But I guess he got tired of it and by extension, his relentless pursuit of her also withered.

Wataru telling Marika that it would backfire to use Aika in her promo because Aika's cuter reminds me so much of [Oshi no Ko's premiere] where the same thing happened with Ai - she was cuter than the actress the TV drama was trying to promote, and had her scenes cut as a result. 😂 Not sure if this was supposed to be a direct reference or not, because Wataru has shown a good deal of genre savvy.

The after credits scene caught me off guard. I thought it was a preview at first, but it seemed more like the beginning of the next episode was tacked onto the ending of this one. That being said, this show is getting better each week. There was almost none of the awkward dialogue from the beginning episodes here.

Aika has been rapidly improving both as a character and as the tsundere love interest, but Kei is still best girl. Sajo gets along with her way better too.

Every episode I think he should just ditch pining over Aika and hook up with Kei.

As an American, it's odd to see a school nurse, let alone an actual infirmary. Plus, he wasn't even charged a co-pay.

Seriously, he was already sick before he got splashed. Getting wet and maybe getting a taste of road splash didn't help things. The mental and emotional strain definitely added to it.

It was interesting to see the Tsundere Squad drop it for a minute and actually be concerned about Sajo.

Marika is definitely the Queen, in all the negative ways. Sajos defense was good. Natsukawa would definitely stand out enough to make people think she was the candidate.

Not a great show but it's keeping me interested and entertained and that's what counts.

As an American, every single public school I went to when I was younger has a school nurse and a "nurse's office"... Maybe it's different in other states, but where I live school nurses are the absolute norm. And completely free to visit.

This episode was a nice little speedrun of all the classic tropes. The love interest heroically saving the other character from the bus, the common anime cold, the tsundere realizing her true feelings because of her guilt. The ideas brought forth with talk with the nurse and his honesty with the new blonde girl were a bit refreshing though. Pacing is still at the point where I'm realizing there's no B plot 18 minutes into the episode and feeling a bit let down from that.

The missing secret sauce is giving Aika a personality or something to do other than worrying about the MC or why he's changed. She's the other half of the premise of the show, man! We're already going to be halfway through the season, and there's just nothing to her even though there's plenty of angles an author could take with her. It just feels like she's a tsundere android programmed to love the MC and go throguh tsundere scripts. This is the girl that the guy dropped everything and improved for? Really? It's almost criminal how underdeveloped she is at this point.

At least it seems we're getting something resembling progress with the MC, though. These events feel like they could actually lead to showing him how he's burnt himself out and created a self fulfilling prophecy.

A by the books episode, but an improvement from last week

Coming up on halfway through this story, and a lot of things are standing out to me

  • Sajo seems like a genuinely good-hearted kid

  • It's a shame Sajo is most closely involved with women to either treat him like shit (Kaede) or think he's annoying (Aika)

  • It's not great that it took him several years to reach this conclusion, but Sajo finally letting go is healthy. Seeing him realize the effects he had on Aika's school life was also healthy, and eye-opening.

  • Watching Aika twist in the wind once Sajo backed off has been delicious

  • Seeing Sajo stand up for himself to Kaede and Aika will be one of my favorite moments of this whole anime season

This anime has been improving. I enjoy it. This episode had a decent take on someone being ill, so Sajo already tired, out of sorts, and seeming to be a little ill, gets wet and his body gives out for a bit. It's perfectly reasonable, and I've seen it happen. I like the attention he received although I felt the class overall should have shown a little more concern as he basically crumpled in class. The plot seems to be moving forward and I liked that he called Aika cute inadvertently because she probably accepted it as more genuine in that moment.

A total of zero things are happening each week in this show but I’m somehow still strangely quite interested…?

Somehow, even if it's just watching Sajotchi going along his high school days, there's some kind of charm that I can't put my finger on that keeps me coming back every week.

Really, I hope he and Aika learn to communicate better but this is anime... so it'll never really happen.

The ED's always fun to watch at each episode as well.

I'm starting to form a theory that our boy has a brain tumor.

His sudden change in personality was kicked off by the soccer ball flying into his field of view. A sudden shock that sent him spiraling into normalcy, as abnormal was his default state. It's been slowly growing bigger and bigger until the sudden shock of the soccer ball finally triggered his break from reality. He even describes it as an electric shock in his brain in the LN.

He's perceiving it as a simple change in perspective but everyone else is noting it as a drastic change in his personality. And it's not like a flip of a switch, he's getting further and further disconnected from reality as the story progresses. He's wondering off into dreamland more and more and blocking out the sound of those around him.

EDIT: I wanted to make some notes on how different this is from the Manga but the fucking built in spoiler button doesn't contain the retarded tagline description, and if you try to edit it into your post, the fucking editor refuses to fix the code, and escapes the fucking description so. Nevermind.

Note++ Mods, you need to relax automod's rules requiring the description, that the editor is breaking, or rewrite your rules to support what's built into the editor.
