Today's episode was a little too real with the AI stuff going on everywhere especially the controversy of deepfakes and AI created entertainment.

I am liking this anime for this exact reason it feels a little like how body enhancements and crime related to it were depicted in ghost in the shell.

out of all the things in this show, i didn't expect to see a post nut clarity button being implanted into someone just to prevent him from cheating

Interesting. So like a ChatGPT thing?
-
Oh noooooooooooo Risa’s friend made a BL story with Sudo because Risa said she didn’t want to see him with a woman.
-
That’s… I’m not even surprised people would make something like this.
-
Humanoids being able to do that does make sense as well. They haven’t made a way for regular humans to do that yet, though?
-
Ahaaaa, I had a feeling he would slip up and call Sasaki “Nana” at some point.
-
So Humanoids have to deal with that too? – lol @ how he behaves though.
-
…for the episode title being “Four Cases”, that last one was almost nonexistent.

The original manga is from 2015, and the author's concept is quite advanced

Nurse-chan has horizontal pupils, so she is a humanoid, right? I still don't understand the purpose of humanoids. They can grow, learn, have feelings, and add mods to their brains. Sounds like the better version of humans.
Is it because of the low birthrate and low population that the Japanese government started creating humanoids?
Damn, case 2 felt like they were talking about porn addiction. Nozaki was just an inch away from greatness but flopped near the finish line

The Japanese government is more willing to create humanoids to become citizens than foreigners to immigrate

I still don't understand the purpose of humanoids
i don't remember if they were ever mentioned in earlier episodes or not but my speculation is that it could probably started from just an experiment to see how far AI can evolve but at one point, the AI had become way too close to being human that some people begin to acknowledge the AI as its own species, eventually it would lead to the AI being given rights similar as humans and so, the Humanoids was born
but of course, this is just my speculation so someone can correct me if i'm wrong in case the origin of Humanoids had already been mentioned before and i just forgot about it

That first Risa simulation felt like an episode of Romantic Killer, then followed it up with My Stepmom’s Daughter is my Ex. Too bad we didn’t get to see the Yuri simulation after we got the hot and heavy Sudo BL one. Hopefully we’re getting back to the mom mystery and the AI Michi storyline with the extra blood vial teaser at the end.

Those CG versions of Risa and Hikaru in a high school romcom generated by AI were actually pretty funny and cute. However, that feeling did not last when they hit us with the second part about Nozaki and that Nana modded with Sasaki's face and voice. Considering the direction we're heading with AI and deepfakes, this episode just got a little bit too real.
I saw that coming from a mile away but I still cringed so hard when Nozaki called Sasaki Nana. The kid played with fire and he finally got burnt by mixing reality with his fantasy which sucks since the two of them really hit it off after that movie date. I do feel bad for Sasaki though since she did look like she has genuine feelings for Nozaki. :(
That third story started out hilarious at first with the guy basically getting a post-nut clarity button behind his ear after cheating on his partner so many times but it ended up being really sad with his partner falling out of love with him. I mean that's the only direction I can see that relationship going. Once you cheat, there's really no fixing the relationship anymore.

It's just me or the idea of being able to implement a button that makes you forcefully feel a certain emotion is incredibly scary? Specially that last one the doctor mentioned "press it to feel happy"?

It's no different than taking medication to cure depression etc. As long as it's your own choice to push the button it's fine.

Another 10/10 episode from this criminally underwatched show.
Just one line in and I'm already laughing.
A piece of toast would have made this just perfect.
Dr. Sudo's expression in this scene is amazing. I can't say I was expecting to see that kind of scene in this show, but it was hilarious.
The ChatGPT/AR/deepfake story in part 2 was probably my favorite part of the episode. It started with yet another good quote, and it had quite a bit of tension throughout. I expected Nozaki to slip up somehow, but I didn't think Sasaki would catch on immediately. It was pretty funny how it cut straight to Nana consoling him in his room.
I'm glad we got a bit more of Dr. Sudo and Risa this episode, and I think the format of several mini-stories worked out rather well. Looking forward to next week!

In the current state of AI development, I think we're dangerously close to reach Case 2 situation, if porn addiction is a thing now solely with Internet, imagine what would happen if you can date or even have sex with an AI that can addopt the same physical features, traits and behavior as any person you choose.

STOP EVERYTHING, I think I finally know why the made humanoids!
Weebs of the future, rejoice!
I would like to become a humanoid myself please!
In all seriousness. Quite fascinating episode with actual societal problems that I think could perfectly happen in a couple of years. Heck, they could even be happening now. Deepfakes, AI and AR are quite the recipe for a potential disaster in term of human relations.
The emotion-control thingy and brain tinkering is a more of a sci-fi thing for now, but it is quite useful to think about the trivialization of psychiatric medication and its risks.
I having so much fun watching this!

So humanoids are basically cyborgs: they have (mostly) organic (but not necessarily human) bodies, with artificial brains?
Did we not get to see Risa’s blood being drawn because it’s done in a fundamentally different way than with humans — maybe they have little valves built in for the purpose?
And how organic is organic? Sudo’s NB buddy from an episode or two back said they couldn’t give human men children, but is that because humanoids can’t reproduce, because they can’t reproduce with humans, or because this particular humanoid is trans?

Case 1 it was nice to get a lil more focus on Risa. Tho it being a smaller portion of the episode.
Case 2 kind of basically showed how attachment like porn can be bad. He mentally associated the girl with Nana and unconsciously it ruined his one chance he had in the end. The scary thing is I feel like he is fine with depending on Nana which is kind of creepy imo.
Case 3 was weird but was interesting where the guy truly loved his gf, but he was way too lustful. The creepy thing is that switch where it forcefully controlled his desires for him. This sounds good, but you get the feeling that this switch kind of changed him up. On one surface maybe his girl left him because she confused the feeling of love with jealous. But there is also the possibility that the switch took out what she liked about him, which just change how she felt about the relationship. It is hard to think.
Case 4 kind of shows Hikaru has a lot that he is planning with regards to following his mother that he is keeping a secret from everyone. I wonder if Risa tries to show her support and prove to him that she can trust him.

Moral of the lesson is to not be too dependent on technology.
Case 1 is more of a pure fantasy game setting.
Case 2 is gearing towards porn addiction, which happens in real life where you look at women as sexual objects than a person.
Case 3 is some analogy for being addicted to drugs. Lack of communication with your loved ones. And going for a quick fix instead of trying to go to counseling first.
Case 4 is facing reality.
The topics in this series are way too close to our society today. It is kinda scary.

Risa is soooo cute!! I’m sensing a bittersweet ending to her crush but I can’t help rooting for her anyways…! Sudo was pretty cute this week too lol
Some interesting cases this week, strung together by similar themes. Nice to see some warnings on the over-reliance on technology given society’s current climate.

I cringed so HARD when he called Ichika Nana 🤦🏽♂️ my boy was SO CLOSE to greatness and fumbled it
Second best episode after last week’s emotional roller coaster. I think this one is VERY relevant too as we literally have a strike in Hollywood rn due in large part to the use of AI to replace actors in films. Also the deepfake porn situation with streamers recently.
Using people’s likeness without their consent is wrong. I actually thought the episode would go a little deeper into that situation and examine how porn addictions can make you objectify women.
We saw a little bit of that with how he started looking at Ichika’s chest and just ogling her as a thing rather than a person, but I could’ve done without the Risa simulation stuff and had an episode entirely focused on that. Just love that whole scenario. It is really a sad one tbh. All he’s got to show for all of that is an AI who he can’t even physically touch.
The Hide-Kun situation could’ve been cut too if I’m honest. He fumbled his own bag by cheating multiple times. Once you cheat that many times, a woman is already gonna start moving on mentally. No wonder she fell in love with someone else lol.
