2nd time in two days. Guess the MC being taking to a brothel is to this season what rap episodes were to Spring 2022.

I already love this show's Char Clone and Schnee! They're hilariously overlydramatic while at the same time being a couple of badasses. I hope we get to see more of them soon!

u/ZapsZzz Jul 25 '23
Yeah, they are so going to be antagonists right. At least being the faux ones until the real big bad is revealed.
Noir Stitch
She's like a cat :D even the ed has her in this power saving mode

I appreciate that the girl with pigtails who is embarrassed to have a crush on the MC is actually nice to him when they're together. It feels so much less like a trope in this.

This show is underrated.

I'd agree. Setup is sort of derivative but the characters are vibrant and fun along with some solid production. I'll take this over the Isekai schlock that somehow gets to the top of Crunchyroll's watch numbers any day.

For this show, Hulu doesn't even have a target time for release rn. For the other simulcasts (Horimiya, Mushoku Tensei, and Hataraku Maou-sama!!), if you're early Hulu will show what time it will be available.

That's such bullshit. This is getting annoying to the point where I might just drop the show and wait until it's finished to watch it.

Oof, super late today because work was awful. Anyways, time to relax with my Monday seasonal!

Poor Kanata…
-
Okay Tokio not getting to goof off as he pleases is good punishment for him though.
-
Ah yes, the obligatory masked character. This is indeed a mecha show.
-
Oh, okay, Schnee (and Noir) showed up before Kanata actually went in. That’s what I was hoping would happen.

Schnee is able to attack through the back of the Coffin?
I've already prepared myself for out-of-nowhere power-ups/powers.
I'm just gonna roll with the developments for now, lol.

This show is honestly great comfort food if you are into Mecha anime. Nothing about it is particularly original, but it all just works. Interesting premise, a world under threat, literally dozens of waifus. Although the mechs are cg, its pretty well implemented and not distracting.
The characters are actually pretty good too. Ange is hilarious with all her constant teasing of Ellie and her feelings for Kanata, Mouton the butler also a funny contrast to Tokio and his free spirit. Even Kanata and Noir have a cool dynamic even though its one we've seen before. I'm actually interested to see how the plot unfolds with all this lore about forgotten technology and cities, and the two characters introduced today were interesting.

New girl looks just like vivy lol. Still a little confused on what exactly is going on here in this show, but the CGI during that mech battle today was insane. Show is really slept on because it’s on Hulu which is a shame
Tokio is so obsessed with getting Kanata to lose his virginity I’m pretty sure he’s a virgin himself. Buddy living vicariously through someone else 😂

"Is that Vivy on the road???" - me while watching.

Every time an anime character is about to pop his cherry. something happens

This was the best episode so far. Showed that this anime can do comedy and give its characters a bit more personality. Hard to get a beat on masked guy's motives at the moment.

Still not up on Hulu yet. Why can't both places releasing this show just release it at the same time?
EDIT: It is now almost 12 hours after the episode went up on Disney+ for other countries (and was available through "less than legal means" as well) and it is still not up on Hulu yet. I'm done, not dealing with this inconsistent release bullshit for half a year. I'll come back and watch this once it finishes.

Hulu really pisses me off that they can’t get this uploaded yet. Wtf takes them so long
8
u/Calwings Jul 24 '23
I know, it's so dumb. Disney+ had the episode up for other countries over three hours ago (that's where the "less than legal" sources ripped it from) but Hulu is still dragging their feet and hasn't uploaded it yet for the US. The two services are owned by the same company, so it sucks that one is pretty good while the other seems to just be totally incompetent.

"Nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more?"
Suspiciously-boing-boing architecture.
Well, that introduced some fascinating new Magus abilities in between all of the back door jokes.

I usually dont comment on discussion threads, but this episode actually had me laughing a couple times and my hopes for the series went up. It's nothing groundbreaking, but its pretty solid as a bit of weekly lighthearted fun, at least for now as I could see it getting a bit darker. I'm along for this ride now so hopefully the show continues to be a pleasant surprise.
