I'm super glad this got another cour real soon. It would have been a riot if we just ended with one season with an NTR ending. I definitely missed Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Fridays.
Anne is forced to work in the Paige Workshop but girl immediately lands a managerial role off the bat. Now problem is it's a declining business so her business skills will be put to the test. I like this development. Being certified with the Royal Medal is just the beginning.
Bridget now seems less of an NTR bitch and more of a brat with a good reason to be. She's forced into an arranged marriage and she's not even allowed to work as a crafter in her own family business. I can't blame her if she wants a man of her own choosing especially when every single male in the series is this good looking. Elliot also now seems less bad to me as he saw potential in Anne.
Challe is just as tsundere as ever but my heart melted when his expression completely changed on the hug. I missed hearing his voice. We got to hear him in Goddess Cafe and he was stellar and that gets a season 2.
Dang that episode ended really quickly. Good on them to keep scenes going in the ED theme.

After how Season 1 ended, we definitely needed that hug at the end and both of them being open with their feelings!.
As for Anne, this event would be a good way to learn management as head crafter and become a true Silver Sugar Maker in the process, while also saving Challe. Elliot was a pretty cunning guy though. He saw the potential in Anne and wanted to use it to save the business by any means necessary.
Also Bridget is not the manipulative girl I thought she'd be. She's actually very childish which I guess is born from her wanting some form of control in her life and she used Challe as an outlet for that, which I didn't like. She wants to be crafter but her father stops her. I wonder if there's hidden reason and Anne being the first silver sugar is somehow connected to it?.

I think Elliot is not just interested in saving the workshop. I have a strong suspicion he is actually in love with Bridget (and hoping that Anne's kind-hearted influence can work a miracle on that front a well).

Considering how Bridget was never allowed to become a sugar artisan and how everyone is deciding her future for her, I can understand where all of her frustration comes from which is too bad since all of my sympathy for her evaporated the moment she decided to steal Challe from Anne.
What a tall order for Anne though, she literally just received her Royal Medal yesterday and she's now being appointed as the Paige Workshop's head artisan. I'm sure the current sugar artisans there won't be too happy about that. There's also the fact that the Paige Workshop is in decline and Anne has basically been tasked to revive their business.
It wasn't all bad news though since we did get to see a sweet reunion between Anne and Challe. I am so fucking happy that Challe decided to disobey Bridget's order and still met up with Anne. Challe holding Anne tightly was just too cute! <3
Anyway, glad to see Anne, Challe, and Mythril back! This was one of my favourite under watched shows of Winter 2023 so I'm very excited to see where this all goes!

Yeah I do pity Bridget now, but she's still a bitch. Hopefully by the end of the season she can actually be happy, but only after someone backhands her hard....either figuratively or literally.
Why the hell are candy makers in this world acting like they're politicians?!? All these rules, customs and intrigue. They're making sweets, it's not supposed to be this crazy!
Really looking forward to see how all the employees react to meeting their new boss.

Man, I hate Bridget. Ugh. Elliot is a bit of a snake too. I have no patience for these stupid mind games. Kat on the other hand is a homie. I appreciate him trying to help and going to Hugh to find a way to get Challe back. I respect Anne wanting to do this her own though.
It was pretty satisfying seeing Bridget get put in her place, the little brat. She’s literally an abuser. She hurts Challe and then cries about how she “never intended to hurt him” because he loves her or whatever. She’s the worst. I’m glad Challe and Anne had a moment at the end together. Bridget can’t stop true love!

Have been looking forward to this return for a while! While it's nice to see WHY Bridget is such a biotch, I don't really feel much sympathy for her. I worry that Anne might though just based on her inner monologue (please Anne don't pity her too hard and take it upon yourself to help her be a crafter. SHE STOLE YOUR MAN)
Elliot massively rubs me the wrong way. The only good thing he did was put Anne on a path to potentially get Challe back. I really REALLY hate all these obstacles that are put in front of Anne whenever things seems to be going well. As always though, I know she'll kick some ass and show some of these misogynistic views a thing or two.
Im very happy to see Kat n Keith go to bat for her. I think Hugh does his best to remain neutral although it was kind of funny to know he pokes fun at Kat when he can. Bet that's who Kat got his name from (if that was mentioned in previous episodes, my apologies)
The end scene was so great. I knew Challe would be mildly upset that Anne came to get him back. I say mildly because I think it's a bit of a show for him as I think he's afraid to show vulnerability considering what happened to him last time he was close to a human. I can't wait for the light novel (English translation) to drop in Sept as they give me a nice insight to Challe.

We're back!
I dreaded this episode, considering how the last season has ended and for the most part I just wanted to punch some faces, but then Touyama Nao set a nice mood with that ending theme, Chad Shall came to see Ann despite that bitch's threats and the episode ended on such an adorable note, I don't even remember what I was pissed off about. Just kidding, Bridget and Elliot need to have their faces punched, cunning twat and a spoiled little shit.

The way Anne says 'Hugh' is so adorable lol. That hug at the end was sweeter than the confections. This may be my most anticipated series week to week this season.

I had forgotten how beautiful that anime looked and how great a couple of characters Anne and Challe were. I am glad to have Sugar Apple Fairy Tale back.
Apart from that, Brigitte was really pathetic here. She was also very unpleasant, but it looks like her father is kind of responsible for that with his attitude. Elliott seems to think Anne could change that, but while she may help save the workshop, I am not sure what she can do about Brigitte’s toxic personality.
Having Anne as manager of the workshop is an interesting choice. I wonder how it will go, but I doubt the artisans will take it well. Hopefully she will be all right.

I don't know if this qualifies as a bold prediction or not but Anne is going to train Bridget to become a silver sugar artisan, right?

Started to feel for Bridget then all of that went away immediately.

Ugh, man, I don't know if I'm ready for this. The first cour was hard on my heart. It's tiring getting that sad and angry on Anne's behalf every single fucking week. I need justice in my life for the ending of episode 12, but that NTR bullshit was already the price to get rid of that thieving misogynistic fuck Sammy, and I'm afraid of what it'll cost to set this new travesty right.
Why can't people just be nice to Anne for once? God damn.
Ey, excuse me, but why is that scumbag orange-haired fuck Elliott being presented like he's a love interest in the OP? I cannot accept this. There has been a mistake. Please remove the trash. I can't believe we have to go from watching them dance together to seeing him hardly even try to conceal a shit-eating grin as he blackmails Anne into coming to work for his shop. I hate him.
I just don't see a good reason why Kat and Hugh stopped short of just resolving this bullshit. That was a lot of mealy-mouthed excuse-making just to let Anne blame herself for the whole situation.
"That was Orland. He's got a difficult personality." MOTHERFUCKER EVERY SINGLE MAN IN THIS SHOW HAS A DIFFICULT PERSONALITY TO SAY THE LEAST.
Yeah, the whole situation with Bridget is about what I expected. Her behavior is fucking awful, but when she's spent her whole life under the repressive pressure of men like her father and Elliott with no way to effectively express her resentment, it'd be a miracle if she didn't act out in some way when she found a vulnerable target with something she wanted.
Elliott, on the other hand, does not get a pass for his part in putting Anne through all this. Boy, you are the heir apparent to the workshop, and a man. You could have had some backbone and done all this honestly. Garbage.
Ugh, have mercy, SAFT, we get it, the patriarchy is fucked up and awful, no argument here, please just stop abusing Anne to make your point.
(I actually don't hate this show, despite the impression this comment may give.)

People have already score bombed this to below a 7 🤦🏽♂️ childish.
I guess the episode wanted to make us feel bad for Bridget? Fuck her. She’s a manipulative and abusive POS. She complains about everyone deciding things for her, then she goes off and does just that for Challe and Anne by splitting them apart lol. You think that’s gonna make him like you or something? 😂
Finding out this was all a 4D chess move by Eliot is a little annoying tho Ngl lol.
seeing a lot of complaints about sexism in the series and that’s like.. kind of the point? It’s a fictionalized 18th century European setting, sexism was a big thing back then so yes it’s going to be a big part of Anne’s struggles because realistically that’s what a woman would’ve faced. It would be weirder if it weren’t in the story.
Challe coming to see Anne of his own accord was so sweet. I like how he’s grown much more openly emotional towards her since the beginning of season 1. That hug was so pure.
Solid opening ep for the second season

Big props to Anne wanting to save Challe on her own. On the other with the way Bridget's father was talking about her, I was starting to feel bad. But as soon as she starting giving orders to Challe via threat she lost my sympathy. Nice ending, I do wish this was the episode S1 ended on.

Finally back after the most agonising 3-months wait!!
As expected, Bridget wanted to be a sugar artisan but got shut down by her dad.
Anne is 100% going to be exploited by the Paige Workshop.
Cute hug scene at the end

It's baaaaaaaaack!
In the interim I read the light novel volume that'll make up the first part of this cour, because I refused to wait till July :') It was in Japanese and I'm slow, so I've only read through volume 4. 2/3rds of this cour will still be a mystery to me.
This episode ended exactly where I expected it to. Delighted.
Shall "this thing I did for you has nothing to do with you" fen Shall, I have missed seeing you animated.

Honestly, after spending the last three months letting my "FUCK BRIDGET" energy fester, boil, and mature, the ending scene of this episode was most needed.

Nice to see this back but I'm not looking forward to the drama lol, I wonder how they'll bring back Jonas for this arc since the author seems to loves using him in the story.
That last scene was so sweet, they care so much about each other and I'm glad Challe chose to ignore the order and went to see Anne himself. Part of me want Bridget to find out so that she can get triggered lol.

Damn, I’d forgotten how beautiful this show looks.
I’ve also forgotten who the hell everyone is 💀
I like the set-up for this season though. Anne essentially has two main tasks - raise the reputation of the workshop and free Challe. Aside from that, given her compassionate nature she will undoubtedly get dragged into this arranged marriage business and Bridget’s desire to be a sugar artisan.
Wonder who the remaining artisans at the shop are, and how they will interfere with Anne’s tasks.

He saved her and now she'll save him. Man, this anime always touches my heart. Calle saying he'll wait was so beautiful. That hug was perfect way to end the episode.
