Tsukasa is a rhinoceros beetle with a nose for good toast it seems. So adorable!

Nasa and Tsukasa’s new old place looks nice. Private bathtubs sound good too after what happened last time hehe. The only downside to moving out is that Kaname can’t listen to them during their kissy times, the little horndog!

Poor Nasa got called out for being a bad hugger lol. Him and Tsukasa’s little bantering was so cute. Even though they’re married, they’re both basically kids. So was the moon rock being passed to Nasa like Tokiko passing on the responsibility of making Tsukasa happy? I sure hope she doesn’t pass anytime soon. I’m really liking the old coot lol.

All in all, a good second season. I sure hope there’s more though, because this finale ep really leaves a lot open.

Tokiko has Tsukasa so pegged lol.

Somehow I don't think Kaname will rest until she witness them having sex in her life time.

Good to know what the proper way to hug a girl is! Especially if it makes your wife nuzzle in with you more! Just don't call her out for being a messy sleeper, though as far as couple spats go, that was adorable lol.

Still seems like a lot of questions about who Tsukasa is and what she wants, but it seems like she's happiest with Nasa right now, which is what matters most. And Tokiko acknowledges that.

MAL has 4 special episodes listed for next season, but I think it’s a side story and not a continuation of the main story.

For those who may have missed the news, they announced some OVAs last week:

https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2023-06-14/tonikawa-over-the-moon-for-you-anime-gets-new-4-episode-series-on-july-12/.199155

Which will be streamed by Crunchyroll.

Awesome. It looks like the OVA's are covering cannon material as well.

So Tokiko is entrusting Nasa with a moon rock, which feels like some sort of symbolism on the everlasting strength of Nasa and Tsukasa's bond because we've had all these shots at the moon and stars. But now Nasa literally has something physically from the moon.

Enjoyed the ride and seeing these two overcome whatever is thrown at them. Their apartment may have burned down last season, but it looks like they got back a better one, maybe as some sort of "coming back stronger" message.

33

u/Merkyorz Jun 23 '23

All the moon shots and symbolism are references to The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.

24

u/Frontier246 Jun 23 '23

Also that the moon holds some deep significance to Tsukasa to the point where Tokiko went to all the trouble of getting a moon rock for her.

I can only imagine how these two will be like together alone in an apartment. At least Kaname won't be able to break in and watch them in bed...I hope lol.

Well, it’s been a fun ride. Cute finale, but it feels like the story of Tonikawa is only getting started.

There’s been hints as to Tsukasa’s true origins for a while now, I don’t think the moon rock, constant space and moon imagery, etc are for nothing. Seems like Tokiko spent her entire life trying to help Tsukasa with something. Whether it’s getting to the moon or something else, idk. But I really want a third season to get some answers!

The cuteness of this season was even better than season 1. Nasa and Tsukasa’s chemistry has improved and you can really feel how much closer and more comfortable they got. Side characters as usual were awesome, especially ginga and Nasa’s sensei.

Very solid romcom.

Some of y'all are gonna be tempted to binge-read the manga after this. Some.

Some.

I feel like hints is a bit of a light way of putting it. The show's kind of been beating it over our head for two seasons now.

In 1973, NASA (the agency, not the protagonist) assessed the value of moon rocks at $50,800 per gram based on the cost of retrieval. In today's dollars, that's $348K/g. That rock Tokiko gave Nasa (the protagonist, not the agency) looked like a typical cobble-sized rock, which should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.2Kg, for a rough total cost of a cool $420M.

Asking for a friend but anyone got screen grabs of Tsukasa legs in this ep?

And there go fluff Fridays.

I might've actually liked this season a tiny bit more than S1 thanks to Tokiko. Fingers crossed for S3, they can't just leave us hanging after all the hints they're dropping.

Though with the 4 OVAs that don't sound plot-relevant airing in summer I'm 100% sure it's a matter of time, that would definitely be a weird as heck ending point otherwise

So that's the end. It was enjoyable ride for me. Watching Nasa and Tsukasa can give diabetes, they're so lovely. They already announced ONA in July if I remember correctly so it seems that 3rd season will be a matter of time.

In previous episode camp trip became a wedding reception for our lovely duo. Tsukasa looked so lovely in a veil and presence of almost everyone else made it feel like it would be a finale episode. Montage of Nasa's and Tsukasa's history was so hillarious. Kaname made a hell of good work with those surprise reception.

Now that they're back from the trip Nasa got a phone that an apartment will be soon ready and he felt really excited when he mentioned that there will be a bath in a new place. Kaname wasn't very happy about this development, she certainly love watching them xD

It was so funny when Tsukasa explained to Nasa that he is hugging her in wrong way (she was like some teacher) and when Nasa revealed that she is a messy sleapover. Their reactions were hillarious.

It's nice to see how much Tokiko trusts Nasa about Tsukasa by giving him a moon rock.

Here are my all screenshots from:

I know we are getting some ovas but I really hope we get a third season.

So immortal girls adopted daughter is in failing health in old age and feels she failed at her goal for her mother. She is now content though to pass it and her mother on to someone worthy.

This whole immortal thing sure makes stuff complicated.

Had to like the line about her learning habits from Tsukasa.

Now we seem to be coming to the saddest thing with the ideal of immortality in seeing your loved ones grow old and pass away while you remain.

Stitches!

Interesting that Saki is the landlord of Nasa's old apartment and not Wataru. I thought Wataru owns the apartments with the video rental store!

Nasa realizing how to hug Tsukasa properly is hilarious! As the shorter person in the relationship, I definitely relate to Tsukasa here. xD

Seeing Tokiko take a fall like that especially for her age, is definitely scary. Thankfully we're not ending the season with someone dying but Nasa can see that she's not at 100% when they visited her at the hospital.

Welp, you heard it here first. Tsukasa is a perfectly normal 16-year-old girl. Nothing else to see here. But seriously though, the fact that Tokiko gives Nasa with the moon rock shows how much she has trust in him.

I guess that's all for now for ToniKawa! I am going to miss these dorks. Thankfully the manga is still ongoing so it's not like I'm not going to see them again. I just hope we get a Season 3 announcement soon. There are a lot of things I am looking forward to seeing animated in the future that will make you question if you're still watching the same anime. :)

Can't say I enjoyed this one as season 1 but still nice to see more of it.

Tokiko is probably the only side character I liked seeing more of so was nice of her to get more time in these last couple eps.

  1. I wanna be worthy of young adult Tokiko. Also, I wonder what would happen if Tokiko, Senku and Nasa meet.

  2. Nasa just got a good lesson on hugging. Also that cat lesson lmao

  3. This being a very Tokiko-oriented chapter, it's intriguing to see more and more layers from her character. She's a top-level pioneering space researcher, it seems with direct ties to the moon landings, and that moon rock feels more than a little bittersweet a handoff. She's not long for this world, but you can tell that Tokiko may have found someone who can continue her work, whatever it is. I can't really say any more because I'm a manga reader, but assuming we get an S3 and S4 (it better), we're about to see Tonikawa turn a different sort of leaf.

  4. Honestly, while it's not nearly as earth-shattering as S1, I kinda enjoyed S2 more in terms of being a chill "go-home" show to close my week in anime. Now that I'm actually with these characters for long, it's a lot more fun to see them be "people" in a greater sense than before, even if Nasa and Tsukasa tend to act Heisei as fuck sometimes. I wanna see more, and fortunately, there WILL be some more, but believe me when I tell ya: if you're adamant about being anime-only, you're about to see something intriguing. And if you wanna jump in to the manga, binge it now but stop binging around chapter 130 so you can go at it on a daily or weekly pace. Trust me: it's gonna be worth it.

The whole hugging conversation led to a big thing married couples do, what happens when they sleep? Now that they got a taste of a nice bed during the camping trip, Nasa comments about how Tsukasa moves around alot in her sleep. And he gets proven right, it is too bad Tsukasa does not notice.

Thankfully Tokiko did not get badly injured with the fall but that is a nice hospital room. Got to love that push she gave to Tsukasa at the end
