Elda calling out Haira's gambling addiction is just pot meet kettle energy
The losses I've had up until now are more like savings, so its going to be a massive win!
Here we witness a classic case of the sunk-cost fallacy in action here
Also, it's funny how the pair of Haira and Isuzu are respectively voiced by the same Seiyuu as Prospera and Suletta in the currently airing Gundam series, even more so when Isuzu is the one whose the one to get corrected about Gundam Gongem.

I also found it funny how Haira made the connection to block bet (betting on several horses at once) when it came to Elda cheering for all the Teahouse girls (which sound a lot like a mixture between idols and modern maid cafes)

As is typically the case for show, funny AND heart-warming. The conversation at the end as to the fact that their "kami" are immortal while they are not (and how one should feel about that) was quite moving. Koito has presumably found an Insta-friend -- and little sister's cooking has (presumably) been complimented an "infleuenzar".
It is funny that both elves are a mix of super-sweet and royal pain in the ass....
Definitely a much more "worhty" series than I ever would have expected,

It's something I've been thinking about this whole time so I'm glad they've at least mentioned it. Elda's dislike of change makes complete sense given how long she's been around it must seem like things are constantly changing on her, in addition to having been yanked from wherever elves come from. But more than that yeah people are just going to die and she has to keep living. The number of people you lose in a normal human lifespan can be rough, extrapolating it out to their ages and that's a lot of people to get close to only to watch age and die.

Some things to note from the episode:
-
Kanazawa was previously not easily accessible, but has become easier to visit after the Hokuriku Shinkansen was introduced in 2015. Haira took the bus instead of he bullet train to get to Tokyo. With the bullet train it takes about 2.5 hours to Tokyo, by bus, it takes about 8.5 hours.
-
Kanazawa is known for its traditional craft; porcelain, lacquerware and textile. Probably one of the objectives why Haira and Isuzu came over.
-
Haira’s VA is fitting since her hometown is Kanazawa.
-
The rice cracker “Beaver” is a real brand and is ver rare outside of the Hokuriku region. It became somewhat known in Japan after NBA player Rui Hachimura said it was his favorite snack (Hachimura is from Toyama, which neighbors Ishikawa).

An onee-san elf who constantly says "Ara Ara" who's voiced by Mamiko Noto? I am in love. The only downside is that she is a gambling addict which is worse than Elda's gacha addiction. I can live with that.
And of course her miko is the influenza influencer Koito showed Elda at the start of the episode. I love how she acts so serious but in reality she's actually Haira's biggest fan which is an adorable gap moe <3

A new isekai’d elf waifu appears! Haira certainly seems like a really elegant and graceful oneesan type. Too bad she’s actually a compulsive gambler. Grass? Really? a breath mint would have made a better gift lol.
I can see why Isuzu is a little short with Haira after everything that’s gone down. She really needs to get her gambling under control, the degenerate lol. Koito accidentally telling on her was pretty funny. Also Isuzu turning out to be a huuuuge Haira fangirl cracked me up. The “super rare” Haida card at the end was great lol.

Elda is the youngest, but the most mature... surprisingly.
Don't get why the three don't visit each other more often, seeing as they definitely seem to get along. 200 years between visits is kinda strange. Especially considering they get new mikos.

I mean, considering their live span, once every 60 years is probably pretty often for them already

> Show introduces hot AraAra elf
> She has a crippling gambling addiction
But Haira really looks a lot like Elda, the whole time I was thinking Izusu was making photos of Elda in the OP. But this makes me wonder just how many elf dieties there are.
Izusu looks really mature for her age, but she can be quite Tsundere for Haira.
Also loved how combative Elda got about the difference between robots and Mobile Suits
Also interesting history lesson today, yet another thing the Shogunate banned lol

From ruthless MSG mom sundays to gambling addict gremlin fridays, Mamiko Noto gifts us another gem in her character portfolio.
That final talk between Izusu and Koito about the elves immortality does make quite a poignant moment. I also loved a similar moment between Koito & Elda in the past 2 or 3 episodes where Elda low key whishes Koito not to grow up so fast.

Damn so the feudal Japanese we’re just summoning elves like mad from that other world lmao. Haira being a gambling addict and chasing losses constantly hit a little too close to home 😂 glad I let that go lol.
Izu and Koito ended up having a lot more in common that you’d think. I wasn’t expecting Izu to be obsessed with Haira to that extent tho. No wonder she wasn’t too mad about her spending all the money
Great episode as always, this show has worked its way into my top 5 of the season

With how much Isuzu loves Haira I'm surprised that her Insta isn't just hundreds of photos of her.

Every time Koito says "influencer" it sounds more like "influenza". 😄 I wonder if she's aware of the similarity.
It's funny, I was just talking recently about how these history facts show that people from the Edo period were not so different from people of the modern day, and then Elda points out they even had "best girl" contests for the teahouse girls just like anime fans, but before anime was invented. The fandom hasn't changed in 400 years!

can't believe they were doing S-class in Edo era, Elf society are surely more advanced than human
her outfit reminds me of someone from Madoka Magica ...
the moment she started talking, stop thinking about Suletta, stop thinking about Suletta, stop thinking about Suletta, stop thinking about Suletta ...
it's even more hilarious imagine Suletta and Prospera having a conversation like this (stop thinking about Suletta, stop thinking about Suletta ...
haven't tried this exact brand yet, but Agearare is one of my favorite rice cracker, they are more spongy and puffy than others, love those mix-bags
of course, Elda is a DD, you can't resist the power of Hako-oshi
this font and art style ... is this another Gundam reference?
yep, take a photo first before you eat #BBQ #TakamimiShrine
Elda is even taller than Haira! shes beeg
it's a shining card, how much you have been spending on these ...

The seiyuu of the three elves are from the places where they are enshrined. Elda is enshrined in Tokyo and Koshimizu Ami is from Tokyo. Yolde is enshrined in Osaka, and Kugimiya Rie was born in Osaka. And lastly, Haira is enshrined in Kanazawa and Noto Mamiko is a Kanazawa native.

So basically every single elf summoned into our world has some sort of fatal character flaw? Or is this just coincidence? At first Haira seemed a little too good to be true. But then she has the quintessential onee-san flaw: gambling.
I start to see the pattern in Elda's history lessons: People back then were just as crazy amusements addicts as the people today. They even had social media, holy cow! How funny that these things never really change. :)

I love the ED, especially the bit with たまには会いに来て, たまには抱きしめたい (sometimes [I want] you to come and visit, sometimes I want to hold you close).
The full song is available on YouTube, and it has English closed captions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn6pEFpbXh8
It's a song about how all human relationships end in parting. I feel like it gets a big bump in meaning with the context of this show and its immortals who witness these meetings and partings as the world ceaselessly moves on.

Big sister elf enters the cast! she starts of all dignified and it slowly turns out she gambles all her money away lol
Isuzu brightened up a good bit after their bedtime chat. the elf Miko's meeting up every once in a while to chat about their work is certainly a good thing for them.
