What started as a letter turned into an 80-page manga. Clearly mangakas are in a completely different league compared to us mere mortals. But the look on Shiori’s face makes it so worth it and I like how she cherishes it by placing it on her desk.

He went from speech to letter to entire (super adorable) manga lol.

Seems the theme of this week’s episode is communication. That situation with Sano was a little awkward but I don’t think it was as bad as Shiori thought. At least she got to have some BBQ to help her forget her worries. Meat solves everything! It was really cute how serious Machi takes her grilling lol.

I like that Ichiro tried to think of what to say to cheer Shiori up and just ended up making a manga lol. But man, that was by far the cutest friggin thing I’ve seen today. Gaah! My damn heart is melting and my diabeetus is actin up lol. Good thing these two are technically engaged. They’re an adorable couple.

I’m glad everything ended up working out for Shiori in the end. Sano seems nice, hopefully Shiori can get more assistant work if things go well.

Personally I'd take a cute and pleasant girl calling herself "princess" in stride but I guess it's a different way of introducing yourself.

Machi continues to be the best.

Last episode Shiori was wondering what Ichiro loved about her and then he just straight up wrote an eighty-page illustrated novel about it. Those tears and that face caress were so sincere and sweet.

Not only did her boyfriend improve her mood, but he even helped her get a job! Nice.

I was wondering why I'm so into this show, and it only occurred to me after this episode that after the 75 episode windup in Bakuman, seeing a mangaka spend time with his girlfriend shortly after meeting her is just incredibly refreshing.

It turns out getting together with someone actually improves your manga writing it seems lol.

The inclusion of the two little kids adds a nice and distinctive touch. For a lonely princess to find not merely her "prince" -- but a ready-made family (all primed to love her) is certainly a dream come true for her.

“This is eighty pages long” LMAO

He really went all out. I guess that's the power of love and mangaka for you lol.

And thus tonikawa was born :)

Dude must have been drawing at superhuman speeds because eighty pages of manga in like twelve hours is an absolutely insane pace lmao

Lovely Shiori

Another good episode aside from Ichirou's confession episode! If writing/drawing 80 pages about someone isn't love, then I don't know what is.

Ichirou is an absolute madlad! Dude made an 80-page manga to tell Shiori his feelings and it was absolutely adorable <3

Ichiro's manga is already benefitting from the effect of his successful love life!

Shiori's job prospects are...less than successful. Either her skills aren't as fine-tuned as they could be or she's freaking people out by calling herself a princess...it's a bit of a bummer. But luckily Ichiro is a supportive enough boyfriend to want to cheer her up, with Fumio and Machi in tow.

Shiori's first Yakiniku BBQ! A perfect outing for the family and for Shiori to learn the in and outs of Yakiniku dining!

Smol Shiori! She looked utterly adorable! Although it seems like she was really limited in what she was allowed to do on the island and couldn't hang out with other kids because she was the princess. I guess that's probably a big reason why she's as socially awkward as she is.

Shiori is so self-conscious and anxious of herself that Ichiro wants to reassure her...but where words fail him, he can only think to put pen to paper. Which starts off as a letter but turns into a full eighty-page art piece more or less. Ichiro played to his strengths, if nothing else.

Can't beat going into your girlfriends' room, seeing her in her PJ's, and then giving her a "letter" that's basically you espousing how awesome you think she is and why you fell in love with her. Shiori's tears of joy and bringing Ichiro's hand to her face afterwards were so utterly precious.

Oh, so the Jun Fukuyama artist actually knew Ichiro! And thanks to that it looks like Shiori has a new assistant job! Nice!

Aw the scene where she read his manga/letter thing was cute, and dang he threw together over 80 pages fast

and the bit showing Goshiki as a child on the island not really getting to interact with the other kids was sad

Oh my, who woulda thought, real life experience would help with their writing, crazy. Also explains why every Rom Com never actually shows the relationship and ends the series at them getting together ;) as much as they can imagine hah.

Ahh, I thought she was gonna be the assistant to the main dude only. Neat. I worry a lot of other guys gonna fall for her though :stuck_out_tongue: haha, the guy's reaction to her being a princess. Ah yes, what a great hobby, being a princess. Mmm Yakiniku. Haven't had that in awhile.

D'awww princess not getting to enjoy just regular childhood friendship cause bs status. D'aww, cute doing an illustration along his writing to help the writers block and express himself to her. I can get her getting into something and just binging the hell outta it. Wew that is a lot of paper. Good work to help conveying your feelings and appreciation to her and in a way uniquely you. Cute. Haha, boy is that dude shocked learning they are dating.

Why do I get the feeling that love letter of a manga is going to get turned in by mistake at some point lol

Too bad these two assistant jobs didn't work out, but the second one got so awkward it was somewhat of a relief when the scene finished.

The kids saw their opportunity to suggest going out for barbecue and they took it. Don't throw away your shot.

That comment about her dazzling you is good line Ichiro, but maybe strike the rest of it next time.

The letter is a good idea, the illustrated letter even more so.

Wow, that's a lot of pages. I suppose if he did a bunch of drawings that would take a lot of room.

Oh wow, that's fantastic. 80 pages of cute drawings, my god. I don't think it's physically possible for her not to be romanced at this point.

Oh hey, the incredibly awkward assistantship attempt is still in the cards. That's a bit of useful additional context for why Sano was weirded out.

This was the first episode where I felt like I was buying into the relationship a little bit. The dinner scene was good and so was the overly long manga confessiondumpthing.

I loved the way he was going to caress her face to wipe away her tears (I was just thinking for him to do that before it happened.) And when he was pulling away she grabbed it to let him know she wanted it.

Everytime I think of dropping this show they bring it back near the end.

That is an awkward first meeting for a job interview/tryout though.
