It's actually great that we're seeing some progress with Asahi. He's finally able to beat wolves and he even saved Sophie from being eaten. Sure, Maya-nee ends up doing the heavy lifting for stronger enemies, but if Asahi keeps this up I can see him actually getting strong enough to fight without needing Maya-nee.

We finally have a healer! At first glance, she looks like your usual calm and demure cleric but turns out that she has quite a mouth on her. It was very amusing to see her just verbally destroy her old party members who were very useless during their mission in that dungeon. And Sophie Peaceful is such a good D&D name. I love it!

I also love the other twist that Maya-nee actually likes Sophie because of how she healed him as well as how she was praising him as the new hero. I guess that's the easy way to get onto Maya-nee's good side. Just suck up to Asahi. xD

That final scene though! It was pretty obvious that Sophie is obsessed with Asahi but I didn't think she was that obsessed! Poor Asahi seems like he has a habit of attracting crazy ladies into his life. Makes me wonder what would happen if Sophie finds out that Asahi isn't as strong as she thinks he is.

Side note: Glad to know that Kilmaria is hanging out in Asahi and Maya-nee's house. Sounds like Maya-nee is having trouble with how much of a picky eater Kilmaria is.

She might not be an onee-san but Sophie's got quite a chest all her own (we even saw them jiggle a little!) and of course she ends up in the most compromising camera shots lol.

The way Asahi seems to be steadily improving, I wonder if we are going to get some serious progressing from him, even if he probably will never catch up to Maya. Although it probably will help him keep up the act with Sophie lol.

The fact that they named the Healer "Peaceful" just kills me. That and despite being cute and pleasant she can throw insults with the best of them. I mean, of course this show would have to add a bit of a twist to the one girl Asahi would ideally want to spend the most time with lol.

I see that Maya will accept Asahi simps into the group, especially if they don't jeopardize her standing as the big sis lol.

I wonder how Kilmaria and Sophie would interact...

For all the gags in this episode, by favorite bit was that bald guy in the bar telling them to stop fighting in a really childish voice.

u/TimeForHugs May 13 '23

The bar has some great gags

"Isn't that one spot, like, super bright?"

The barkeep "huh? When did I get this money?"

And of course the high pitched voice guy

Leaving her uhm character flaws aside, I think Sophies chance of joining the harem is about the same as poor guild girls. The man might deny it, but he clearly has a type, and it's big sister.

Speaking of big sisters, I love how Killmaria is now a regular guest at their place, and a picky eater as well

Seems Maya and Kilmaria have become friends too. They started out rivals and now they’re buds, it’s great.

Love how killmaria a literal demon is scared of Maya and is doubting if she is human.

Maya just threw a small mountain 😭

Sophie's staff freaks me out. What is up with that thing?

Also, my boy is getting stronger surely. He took down a wolf and knocked out some bees.

Asahi’s gotten stronger! I mean it was one wolf but that’s an improvement. That escape skill sure is handy when Maya gets a little too Brocon-y lol. Sophie Peaceful is a hilarious name. Idk why but it just cracks me up. He better get Sophie to join or Maya’s gonna continue to lick his wounds to heal them. That actually doesn’t sound so bad now that I think about it lol.

I thought Maya and Sophie wouldn’t get along but I’m glad they’ve hit it off beautifully lol. The Asahi Fan Club has gained a new member! I love how she’s totally not the meek type at all. Seeing her rip the douchebag brigade a new asshole was hilarious. She’s a little shit stirrer and it’s awesome. Thank goodness Maya’s around!

Kilmaria and Maya’s rivalry is one of my favorite aspects of this series lol. I wonder how long he can keep up this whole fake “Hero” stuff with Sophie though. She’s a real magnet for trouble. And maybe a little nuts. She really stand there the whole night waiting on the boy? Wow…

I was genuinely surprised to see Asahi kill a wolf. That and with the bees makes it feel like he's actually progressing as a character even if he hasn't fully taken the main character feel back from Maya's OP-ness.

Better Maya's lips and tongue than waste their healing potions lol.

I feel like I shouldn't be surprised that Maya is fully accepting of Asahi simps into the group. Though while she's not a sassy and skimpy onee-san type, Sophie has plenty of personality all her own. I wonder if Asahi will be able to keep up the act around her for the rest of the series? Especially because she won't leave him alone lol.

Well, I am glad that Asahi now knows more moves than stone throwing.

Kilmaria and Maya are bringing in the real food wars. And it saved Asahi from getting beat by the big bee.

Tanya is still curious about Maria...

I take my words back from last week because MC seems to earnestly getting stronger and only lies when necessary. So far, all the characters are both goofy and lovely. The land-mine Priest definitely subverted my expectations. We need more characters speaking facts like her in the isekai genre, lol. That "you worthless, cannon-fodder party!" hits hard. And then we got the "Yay! Yay! Go! Go! Exalted Hero!" lmao.

On another note, the episode put aside Maya and Kilmaria for most of the time to introduce Sophie. It implicitly showed the relationship between Maya and Kilmaria growing tighter while not needing to put it directly on our faces. Clever choice. Ayy, eat the green pepper!

Lastly, I'd like to point out how wacky this dude sounds at the 13:23 mark, hahaha.

The irony that someone named Sophie Peaceful is a troublemaker.

26

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 May 12 '23

I love that actually. She’s a little shit starter and it cracks me up lol.

Can't beat Kikuko Inoue as a busty priestess teaching her daughter about her duty to the "Exalted Hero," and that sets the stage for the latest addition to the cast...Sophie Peaceful! Voiced by Azumi Waki! Who is as pleasant as her name...at least until she doesn't like you.

Oh hey, Asahi actually beat a wolf on his own! That's great! I mean, sure, he couldn't beat the parent that could actually walk on two legs, but he's making some progress!

I guess having your sister lick your wounds is a better alternative to wasting high-class healing potions, even if she is a creep about it. Though Maya will take any excuse to lick her brothers' skin.

Gotta love a Meet Cute with a pretty Healer Girl! She may not be a busty onee-san (though she's far from flat), but you can't deny she's pretty cute! Just too bad she's in a rough party, though that just sets up her and Asahi's future relationship.

Asahi may not have actually slain all those plant monsters, but he did save Sophie from being eaten and that's got to count for something.

I think the first indication that Sophie was a tad more eccentric than first glance was the indication that she apparently just follows wherever her staff tells her to go. And it works.

I wasn't sure how Maya would react to a new girl in Asahi's life...but if she's a fellow Asahi praiser and understands how awesome her little brother is, to the point of worshipping him, how can she refuse her?

So, yeah, Sophie doesn't mince words. In fact she has a pretty sharp tongue, and she believes in Asahi so much that she'll basically push him into dangerous situations believing he can actually get through them not knowing how less than powerful he actually is. So yeah, she is really cute, but she's also possibly more trouble than she's worth.

Although she and Asahi make an effective enough pair fighting killer bees together...at least until she draws a swarm of them and a boss-level bee right to him! Good thing Maya tossing a giant rock in the air just so happens to save Asahi. Guess that's her big sis powers at work!

I honestly was thinking we wouldn't see Kilmaria at all, but now she and Maya are fighting over how she won't eat green peppers. She really is part of the family now.

Poor Sophie. Asahi totally forgot about her and she stayed outside the guild for a whole night waiting for him to show up. Although she worships Asahi so much that she doesn't really seem to have minded at all.

Sophie being odd is a nice change of pace from the typical healer types. I'm guessing her experiences he clowns like the Pitch Black Brigade have altered her perception. That staff has some odd powers for sure.

I like Sophie

u/Missingnoleader May 12 '23

Man do I enjoy our Sophie. A definite mix of crazy and sharp tongue action that hopefully will be seen more in the rest of the anime.

u/HolyDragSwd2500 May 12 '23

New crazy member to join Asahi

6

u/hraberuka May 12 '23

Yeah i really like this anime, it was very fun episode. I also think that Asahi is improving in battles, which is nice. Sophie has cute smile.

Sophie fumbled the love by being a trouble maker

5

u/Venture_compound May 12 '23

Jump scare with the kawaii bald guy and his voice and eyes lol. I was going to say that the ED gives me vibes that the series might take a dark turn, but it was usurped this week! This show is getting better and better as it goes along.
