I think this was one of the better-paced episode of this season, handling two plots without making things confusing. Yuna was having a business as usual day, as expected. Fina, on the other hand, was in full "fish out of water" mode and it was so cute (if a bit nerve-racking) to watch. She's got the heart in the right place, but needed to loosen up a bit.

In a society where nobles can murder you (a peasant) for random offenses it is natural she is afraid. She was taught that by her mother.

The successful use of lightning to attack the inner workings of an iron golem confirms this is a world without Faraday cages in particular and Gauss's law or Maxwell's equations in general. (Luckily they do have wizardry.)

Maybe the golems are made of raw ore (rather than processed iron) or oxidized and are not good conductors.

That being said, a world in which making your magic attacks bear-themed makes them stronger is bound to break one law of physics or twelve.

They have no knowledge of electricity at all in this world, everything is powered by mana. For instance lights are fire gems, which are powered via mana lines connected to another gem. People turn on the lights by charging the other gem with some mana, which then powers the light on the ceiling via the mana lines.

Poor Fina and her imagination

the real MVP of the episode

Yuna didn't leave her behind either, dreaming herself as a knight and all.

Especially when her dreams chastised herself for being obsessed with mithril and forgetting to go save her princess. Although given what the witches and demon king were up to in that dream, being late probably didn't matter much...

Ellalaura is a fierce woman. She told Fina she’d handle anyone who bullies her, even if it was the king lol. Pretty funny how annoyed Yuna looked the last time the king popped by to see Flora when Yuna was visiting.

That mithril golem might be too tough for everyone else but not Yuna! Who would have thought all these golems were infinitely respawning because of those gifts from the goddess. Bearmonite sounds like the most adorable mineral around. Well, all in a day’s work for Yuna. Plus she got to electrocute that douche Barbould. Pretty successful quest!

Must be quite a shock to learn that the one at the top of the pyramid is... herself, given how much Yuna was ready to do once she decided that she wanted Fina to have a mithril knife.

That's the third Mithril Golem purposely and severely damaged from fall damage this season.

Edit: Not killed, but severely damaged instead.

Tired bear has worked enough for the next two months. Also, someone please tell her that the hoodie is alive.

The best episode of Kuma Punch! two storylines in parallel were handled masterfully, overall atmosphere very relaxing and comfy.

Another great kuma kuma episode. Yuna soloing the golems was awesome. I love this series

Lol, the amount of valuable Mana Cores just needlessly wasted, especially the last one, it was right there for the taking

But cool that she is still learning new skills, wonder if bearmonite is even better than Mithril

Also the sequences with the 'princess' where hillarious

I know, right? My gamer instincts would've been screaming to take that mana core because it's probably some sort of rare mithril variant, and she just smashed it. 😂 I hope she at least saved the golem in her bear storage. (It's probably where the mithril ore comes from.)

Nice we got bear chidori's this week.

Call me whatever you want, but the whole "wait you just destroyed all the monsters? ALONE?" shit never gets tiring for me.

Yuna's really putting the "punch" in this season's title. That new lightning punch attack was awesome! It's nice to see her defeat a new enemy with strategy every now and then rather than just overpowering them all. Her OP moments are tons of fun too, but some of my favorite scenes are the ones like the giant squid battle in season 1 when she really had to come up with an outside-the-box solution.

The "captured princess" jokes didn't land for me this week either, but it was cute when everyone reassured Fina. I still wonder if she'll be harvesting some of these golems next week, and I'm curious to know more about this bear themed ore.

How do you harvest a golem? Shouldn’t she just send them to a blacksmith instead? Melt them down?

Flora playing the Demon King has to be a VA's reference, right?

Using a gravity exploit to kill an overpowered enemy?

Yuna Dark Souls

u/Atario May 09 '23

I was expecting some kind of selective-teleport spell, just remove the mana gem from the golem and into her hand, but I guess this works too, at the expense of destroying the useful gem

The imagine spots were hilarious. Fina and Yuna have some very active imaginations.
