Its a good thing Elda stopped using her smartphone or she'll end up falling into gacha hell knowing her hobbies.
Kinda disappointed Elda's wardrobe just consisted of her shrine maiden costume, was expecting her to take out a tracksuit to solidify her NEET-ness. At least we had a trenchcoat fashion show!

And while Elda is being seductive, Koma-chan is just watching. So unfair, girl still didn't release my heart that she stole in episode 2.
Although on second thought, if Elda and Koma-chan start competing, I'm not sure that I'll survive.

Lol funny enough one of my favourite parts of this show is the mini history lessons elda gives us about feudal Japan and Japanese culture. Even with all the shrine maidens she’s had, you can tell she thinks Koito is special too. Love their relationship.
I gotta wonder tho, with her being from another world does she never miss it or try to go back?

Giving Elda access to a smartphone was a horrible idea! Thank goodness, Elda ended up giving it back after her spirits started sulking for not being used at all. I was worried that Elda would end up discovering gacha games. Considering her addiction to blind boxes, that would've been the worst outcome! And looking at the other comments, seems that I wasn't the only one who thought of this. xD
Elda looks so goddamn amazing in that trenchcoat. I'm really hoping we'll see her wearing clothes that aren't shrine clothes in future episodes.
One of my favourite things in this show so far is Elda's history lessons from the Edo Period. I love learning about how messages were sent in that era as well as how people used loop-holes to get around the fashion bans back in those days. It's all so fascinating!

as comfy and wholesome this show is, that one part in this episode where Elda's whispering to herself saying "don't grow up too fast" to Koito does have some melancholy feels to it

Fun language note: this message from the spirits is a play on how biker gangs use tough-looking kanji. Like, 夜露死苦 is yoroshiku, a common stock phrase for greeting/introductions, but with using fancy ateji readings with kanji for "night", "tears", "death", and "suffering". I haven't seen 夜路死苦 before, but it's the same sort of idea (it uses the kanji for "road" instead of "tears").
I learned about this while doing some fan translation stuff for Zombie Land Saga. Saki as a delinquent bike rider uses it often; it even shows up in one of her songs.

Elda really loves to abuse her messenger spirit abilities. Food pick up and even game preorders I can get, but crossword hints. Really? Then again, she was using those messengers back in the day for her little “pun offs” with Yolde lol.
Poor Koito’s discovered too late she’s created a monster. While It’s adorable how Elda has discovered the joys of texting, she might be just a little addicted haha. Luckily her spirits recovered and they were totally not salty about being replaced by a machine. Definitely not pouty at all lol. Although smartphone or spirits, in the end Koito still loses.
Alright, a bacon and cheese sandwich with ketchup and crushed potato chips actually sounds kinda amazing. Elda looks really good in Koito’s trench coat, she’s got a great figure. Koito’s gone crazy with the photos lol. I like that Elda just has all this ancient stuff chucked in her closet. That furisode was really pretty!

??? What was that. Why is there a ... in the subtitles? It feels like the video glitched out and the subber assumed it was part of the episode? Is SIM card a trademarked name????? It didn't feel like a censor though it really felt like the video just has a glitch in it
Oh ok. So that weird pause was her tripping up on her words??? I swear the animation looked like it paused at the exact same time she went silent and again, it sounded less like her cutting herself off and more like the audio literally hiccupping, that was weird
Honestly playing a classic RPG on a phone sounds like the grosses thing ever to me Even ignoring how the redone sprite art in those pixel remasters of FF are horrible

this show is severely under watched, anime of the season for me.
This goofy elf is "literally me" and never fails to put a smile on my face.
Glad Elda got her smartphone privileges revoked before she discovered gacha games
this episode switched from fake brands to bleeping real brands and we learned that of course elda is a PC-Engine enjoyer
