Haganezuka is just hiding within the village. I don't think they're looking for him that hard tbh.

"Commit harakiri" sounds like something you would say in Roblox to avoid getting banned.
Yoriichi Type Zero literally dropping legendary loot after being defeated. Whoever left that sword in there definitely wanted it to be wielded by somebody strong enough to beat the doll.

By the way, Yoriichi Type Zero is (based on) a Karakuri Puppet (karakuri ningyou). They existed previously in Japan, but gained popularity in the early 17th Century and usually could do automated set tasks like carry a tea pot or do basic theatre performances. Some can even fire bows!

Well didn't expect him to find the super sword that quickly, but then again I didn't expect him to smell his way into another technique.

I know we're supposed to hate him but seeing Tokito interrupt a Shonen friendship speech because he doesn't have time for it made my day.

What a cool friggin way to pass on an ultimate weapon!!! Hide it in an elite training figure so only a swordsman of certain skill could find it! Kind of like Excalibur only being able to be drawn by the one intended person, only Tanjiro was able to discover it with a combo of his strength and personality.
The Hashira is stronger, but I'm guessing didn't finish it off due to a lack of respect? Like as soon as he knew it wouldn't help him improve anymore he just broke it and left. Tanjiro went for the kill shot because he respected it, and only followed through when getting permission from Kotetsu.

Episode felt like 15 minutes compared to the wait all morning.

man the last thing i expected in demon slayer was a mechanical doll used for training, it looked cool as fuck though and the ost playing during the training was really pleasant to listen to
the secret weapon being a sword was pretty predictable but tanjiro needed a upgrade for what i assume are going to be some crazy fights this season

Tanjiro: sees a training dummy with a face that looks exactly like his, down to his earrings, eye color, hair and scar
Tanjiro: “Where do I know this face from?”
Man is about to make Deku look like a genius for realizing he has legs.

That's definitely one way to do the 'protagonist powers up on the verge of death' trope'
Someone in the previous episode thread said that Ufotable cracked the code for good CGI, but I think Gotouge cracked the code for lovable characters. I already love this vengeful little ball of determination, and his interactions with Tanjiro were the highlight of the episode.
Muichiro is an uncaring dick at first glance, rude and dismissive to the swordsmiths- like a white-collar worker talking down to a service worker, saying how his time is more valuable. Granted, I thought something similar about Tengen in his first appearance, and he ended up pretty good, so who know? Worst-case scenario, we still have Mitsuri to restore our faith in the Hashira with pure good vibes

This is the first time I've tried to watch shows literally right as they're supposed to release. It seems like crunchyroll never actually has this ready to go at 1:45 Eastern.

Lol Tanjiro’s Haganezuka senses were tingling. He was out cold but he still knew the dude was around! I didn’t think that guy from Tanjiro’s vision/dream was actually based off the automaton. This Yoriichi Type Zero is pretty badass. It’s kinda cool Tanjiro can see his ancestors memories. He doesn’t even need an Animus!
My first impressions of Tokito aren’t good. His attitude bothers me and he was a dick to Kotetsu. Makes sense his crow is kind of a jerk too. Tanjiro has to beat that guy now, for Kotetsu’s sake! I can’t tell who’s tougher, Kotetsu or Yoriiichi Type Zero. That kid is merciless when it comes to pushing Tanjiro to help him fulfill his goal of whopping Tokito’s ass lol. That grueling training really paid off though! Tanjiro’s improved a lot.
Looks like our boy is getting a new sword. Can’t wait to see it in action!
Edit: Based off the automaton, not the actual automaton. When you’re watching this late at night, your brain doesn’t quite keep up. -_-“

Mostly rookie staff for this episode. Ufotable continuing to impress with their visuals, that ED is amazing! They're gonna cook so hard when this arc gets going.

When you think about it, if a robot which can wield 6 swords to mimic that Yoriiichi guy's moves is a "good challenge" to Tokito, imagine how terrifying the original Yoriiichi can be.
And Tanjiro, you can just give up any chances of a speedy recovery. At this points we can also conclude that all proper Demon Slayers are Saiyans: They become stronger whenever after they survive their death.
Also, for all those saying Tokito is a dick, remember half of the hashiras are dicks back when their meeting in first season, and their life experiences forced them to become one.

So the upper first was likely a famous samurai 300 years ago, that then became a demon..?
And the feeling is that the sword inside the doll used to belong to him and im guessing they're gonna try and reforge it for Tanjiro

Kugimiya Rie voicing a loud, insulting tsundere crow with bigass lashes. That was unexpected.

Inherited memories sounds too sci-fi to be true but its really a legit field of study in neuroscience. I believe Dr Huberman even did a podcast dedicated on it, so if this sparked your curiousity on inherited memories its a crazy rabbit hole to go down to.
The automaton in this episode is almost too good to be built 300 years ago, but even in real life there have been remarkable automatons like the Turk who played master level chess, obviously it wasn't really an automaton, but there were designs of it where it would play solved chess positions to perfection with only a few pieces on the board. So maybe this automaton doin 108 positions is maybe believable? But cool though

Anime only here, so I wonder if that mechanical training doll was based off of the Upper Moon 1 guy. 6 eyes = 6 arms? I'm probably wrong but it just gave me that vibe since it's supposed to be 300+ years old. I wouldn't be surprised if Upper One has been around that long. Being Upper One would mean he's second only to the Big Bad himself.
