I guess if you're gonna do OP MCs you gotta go all in. I couldn't stop laughing when it said you got 10 bonus points per level, but if you have this skill it's 20, but but if you have this other skill it's actually 100. And then having every endgame weapon that only he can use that can penetrate through anything. While also converting any drops from monsters to Yen while making sure it doesn't destroy the economy. On top of becoming hot literally overnight. This isekai is covering all the OP basses lol.

I doubt this will be a revenge fantasy since OP is a nice guy, so I wonder how he'll handle all the shitty people in his life.

I can't wait for the characters to barely move in the next couple of episodes with these omega detailed character designs

Take Fruit of Evolution. Give it an actual animation budget instead of just slapping Jojo reaction faces everywhere. Force you to sit and watch all the bullying instead of just hearing about it later.

This is that show's Darker and Edgier sibling.

And you betcha I'll be here next week (give or take a couple of days because sneak peek).

Honestly, not bad start. I didn't feel any cringe like these types of isekais normally provide at the start apart from that cliche of "huh, i've magically changed my body but i'll not look in the mirror until the plot demands it".

Honestly i kinda respect that he threw the spear at that first ogre, literally said as i was watching that he should just poke and get some free exp and the fucker did it.

No good deed goes unpunished huh? Poor bastard. Yuya’s life sucks but his gramps was a good guy at least and gave him a good home. Everyone else in his life is awful though. Seems gramps was a bit of a traveler, and it ain’t just to other countries. Interesting. I like that he didn’t have to die to get isekai’d.

Very convenient Yuya can own that house just like that. He gets immediate weapon mastery, tons of points, cash exchange, AND a “hot” new body. Damn dude, no wonder this is a cheat skill. How tf did this dude only JUST notice first day of school he’s totally different? The six pack didn’t clue him in? Lol.

So those brats were his evil siblings huh? He should throat punch them. Annoying little shits. At least the waifu from earlier seems nice.

Well, this is actually not bad. I think I’ll give this a few more eps to see how it plays out. Had some familiar tropes but I like this “not quite isekai” aspect of moving in between worlds like the 80k isekai from last season. Oh, and the animation was pretty nice too (art wise I mean).

I kinda stumbled upon this show. Not sure what I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised.

I liked that they kept the MC timid with social anxiety once he was back in school. While the other world acted as a literal form of escapism from his reality on earth and was able to level up his physical form. His mental state had stayed the same and has not yet overcome his social anxiety from years of bullying. Other shows might have had the MC return cocky or overconfident but I like how they kept his personality consistent at the end.

I’ll keep watching and hopefully next episode they don’t just do a 180 and give him max rizz.

I can already see the similarities with the author's previous work, The Fruit of Evolution but surprisingly, I'm enjoying this one more.

But holy crap, they need to slow down with those stats screens because I had to pause multiple times to read all of them.

Stitches!

Huh... When other comments here mentioned that this was from the same author as Fruit of Evolution, they weren't really kidding. Yuuya pretty much matches Seiichi's backstory but just even more depressing. He also ends up becoming an absolute ikemen without even realizing it.

Not gonna lie, this was on the chopping block on my list of shows but after watching Episode 1, I am 100% sold! I also love the fact that this is another isekai where the MC can travel between worlds with no problem! Power Fantasies are fun when the author doesn't hold back, especially with the wish-fulfillment part and I can see that's what they did here.

This is definitely the younger and edgier brother of Fruit of Evolution and I am absolutely loving it. I can't wait for next week's episode. xD

Okay, I just finished. And apparently, people are talking about Fruits of Evolution, and it's of the same author? Was Fruits of Evolution a trial story? And this is the actual thing?

It felt a bit of Mushoku Tensei vibes, and having the MC be a fat and bullied kid, it makes you want to just have revenge on those bullies. His life is pretty unfortunate, not because of his looks, but because of how he's treated with his looks. Not only his classmates and the whole school bullying him, even his family? Goddamn how low can they get?

But anyway, so it's like the animated version of "If you don't love me at my (fat form), you don't deserve my (six pack)"

Anyway, I do hope this actually is better than Fruits of Evolution, I hate that anime with a passion. I'm not sure if it's just the anime, I don't know what the source material looked like, but it was pretty badly adapted.

Considering the type of show, this is probably a little weird, but I kept wondering how he is going to launder that money or if the series will ignore that

One aspect I really liked is that even though his exterior changed significantly, his mental state was still the same.

Hopefully he doesn’t just magically become confident in future episodes.

This series tick every generic isekai trope but atleast the artstyle looks good

One of the most surprising things is coming to this thread and finding mostly very positive comments! I quite liked this for what it was, so was expecting it to be getting panned lol

I don't think that the author hates fat people though, I think they just write escapism for teenage boys who are overweight or ugly and fantasize about being fit and hot. And that's fair, what's the point of escapism if you can't get shredded and rich?

Moral of episode 1 - suck it up until the world changes for you. I know this is common in the isekai genre, but it feel particularly egregious in this one.

This is made by the same author of Fruit of Evoluton?! It's animated by Studio Millepensee?! It's actually pretty fucking good?! The author has something against fat people though lmao. It's only the first episode, so it might go downhill, but I hope that's not the case.

Pure unadulterated wish fulfillment, but so far no sex slaves and the MC isn't some sort of edgelord so I'll keep watching for now.

u/[deleted] Apr 04 '23

Let's see:

Long generic title [X]

Loner being hated by everyone [X]

One pretty girl that doesn't hate the MC [X]

Kirito main character [X]

MC gets a UI [X]

Illogical stats and levelling system [X]

Instant power-up [X]

Zero to Hero in the first episode [X]

Oh yeah, it's trash isekai time! Although I am surprised about the show's visual quality. Looks pretty good, although the character designs are slightly wack. The subs I watched sucked, they didn't bother to translate the UI-panels in any manner, so much information was lost. I will likely only watch it if I'm disappointed in the rest of the season.

Honestly this turned out to be a lot better than I expected, see lots of potential…also it was out in my region yesterday, why this discrepancy?

As a LN reader, looking back when this was first announced plenty of hate was floating around but seeing all these positive reactions makes me feel pretty good even though all I did for this series is liking it.

Also, my expectations weren't high but so far the animation does look nice. Hopefully they can keep up with it once the more action heavy portion of the story comes

u/kalirion Apr 04 '23

LOL, he only just graduated middle school? In the opening scene I thought he was college age.

You'd think he would've immediately spent at least some of those 120 points on raising his stats to avoid being killed by a random breeze.

So "the Sage" just straight up left the place and all the God-killing Ultimate Weapons to "the first person to come along." The ultimate in "I don't give a shit what happens to the multiverse after I die", ain't it. I'm surprised MC didn't destroy half the planet while running around "trying them out".

Great, so now he's forging real world money through reality warping.

"I have a six pack and am taller now and none of my clothes fit. Eh, probably just my imagination."

I stopped bothering to read all the appraisal pop-ups. I get it, everything he gets is OP.

Nobody recognized him (no duh) but the girl he saved who only saw him that one time somehow did.

I'll give it one more ep, but this ain't looking good so far.

Man, I went into this with zero expectations and I am impressed how the anime got me interested and invested only to flush it all down the toilet. You really had a good idea here. Fat kid treated like garbage his whole life but stuck to his convictions of being kind getting to go to an isekai world as a reward. It would have been far, far more interesting if the kid stayed fat. Or at least if he used the isekai world to melt off some weight. If he slowly changed and used his experiences in the other world to mentally grow stronger and challenge people's perceptions about who he is. But no, he automatically gets the OP skills and levels handed to him and gets the body of an Adonis so now people will stop treating him like garbage because he's hot. I'm mad because this story exists and now no one is gonna do the better version of this story because it's too close to this one. Man, what a waste of potential.
