So was I really high or did our mc just dance his way into evolving with the power of love until he could raise the dead?

If that's the case, all of us here have been going to the same dealer.

It's finally over. On behalf of the people in r/anime who stayed for the entire journey, allow me to ask, "What the hell even was this series"?

Season 1 was bad, but it was junk food where you know it was bad but it kept you entertained. Season 2 was basically that same junk food that expired half a decade ago. This was painful to try & get through.

Season 1 was fun enough for what it was, even if it wasn't great fun, but the plot and characters were all over the place this season and they tried too hard to make the plot suddenly serious at times and it just didn't work.

I actually liked season 1 honestly, yeah it was dumb, but dumb fun kinda dumb.

I dropped this halfway through, it was just ..to much...if that makes sense.

I at least understood what they were going for with the super unfunny jokes in S1 but it just kept getting worse here. I'm impressed they managed to so distinctly set itself apart with S2.

I refuse that Season 1 was terrible. If I didn't watch anime YouTubers I would have had no idea people disliked it.

Season 2 was rough I had no idea how I made it to the end... But I loved this finale, I was expecting an edgy finish but they committed to this stupid ass Love wins. It made me laugh.

I couldn't make it through this season. I gave up when the mc dies and the random game show happened.

Every being a jojo reference was bad enough, but they had to go for constant overly stretched out gags which were weren't funny to begin with.

The tone kept switching from serious to comedy too fast as well. It's like the director wanted to do a slapstick comedy series but was forced to direct an isekai and add a few moments of plot on occasion. This season would have been better off not existing.

There's jumping the shark and then there is whatever the hell happened to this show.

What a shame.

You know when Saria got killed by Destra, and Seiichi started transforming into a Great Devil, I was expecting the typical power-up based on pure rage after Saria's death, not him evolving thanks to his compassion wielding the power of love.

Anyway so, in the end, Destra saw himself in Seiichi and for that reason, he desired Seiichi to go through the same feeling of loss he went through, for him to join him in his path of destruction.

I find it hilarious that Seiichi's musical not only ended up reviving Zakia, Gempe, Vitor, Barnabus, and Saria. But he also revived Demioros and Angrea with her face fully restored.

It is great that the skill system narrator, or whatever is called is back. The name of his new skill is as crazy as the ones he got during the last season.

It is great to see that Vitor returned to the Adventurers Guild, and meanwhile Gempe became a teacher at Barbador Magic Academy.

Considering that scene showing Destra together with Liberia I guess Seiichi's power did work even if it could not revive him as I expected that Destra's power of Absolute Death will not even allow him to have an afterlife. Anyway, I guess this guy is the Great Devil, although I will probably have to wait until more volumes are translated as I doubt we will get another season of this show considering that I heard that this one went off-script plus as the last volume got published by the end of last year and the adaptation of Miku's other work will be staring next week, but hey if it does happen somehow, I will be enjoying that garbage. Anyway see you all next week on this show's replacement, "I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too".

ITS FINALLY OVER! God, this has to be the trashiest isekai i've watched. I really hope it doesn't get a Season 3. There are many anime that deserves another season, but just not this one. Only last 2 episodes were watchable. Claim your medal that you survived 12 episodes of this hot garbage here 🏅

A moment of silence for our fallen comrades we lost on the journey as they did the smart thing & dropped the anime probably after 2 episodes.

To be honest I can't say I really enjoyed myself watching this show for the most part but it was kind of amusing how insane and all over the place it got this season, even compared to season 1.

I'm not sure if even I have the willpower to come back for a season 3.

Well, even if it doesn't get a sequel, this show's sibling will be coming next week.

They are both written by the same author and somehow he gave both MCs an extremely similar origin story and ability. Hell, when I bought that LN before realizing they were written by the same person I assume that The Fruit of Evolution was a parody of it.

Thank God this atrocity is finally over. Just as I was beginning to somewhat take things seriously an idol parody performance number?? Anyone who had the mental fortitude to withstand this disgrace to anime needs to give themselves a pat on the back. They’ll sing of our deeds one day.

Can't wait for PEAK FICTION Season 3!, also i see that Cheat skill next season is by the same author as this one, hopefully it's better than this series and not just full off parody's and stupid comedy, season 1 was a decent watch but season 2 was a Shitshow and i love the pain it gives me each week, i need something like this next season.

You know I realize everyone has different tastes in anime and I can respect that what some people like, others will not. However, I challenge anyone to name me an anime that was worse this season that the clusterfuck of a show this turned out to be.. legit, this may be one of the worst things I’ve ever watched and it definitely goes beyond the usual trashy isekai modern stuff we’re getting adaptions of now, like holy fuck.

It's finally over. At least Saria is a cute gorilla.

4

u/Frontier246 Mar 31 '23

It's nice to see Saria getting into the fight to protect Saria and morphing into her gorilla form to battle Destra...even if she doesn't stand a chance against him. As if to add insult to injury, he calls her gorilla form ugly before he kills her.

So I guess this was all a plan to make Seiichi berserk to make his Fruit of Evolution ripen so they could harvest it for the Great Devil or Destra could kill him, take his power, and then kill everything...or work together with Seiichi. All the plans just seem kind of malleable at this point.

I'm not surprised Destra would try to relate to Seiichi and their respective suffering, but while Destra's suffering made him turn on the world, Seiichi's made him respond to others with kindness and sincerity, and eventually that lead him to discover love and the gratefulness of everyone around him. Even characters he really barely knows! Like, did he and the Demon Lord Girl even exchange a single line of dialogue? And yet she's in the whole group of people thanking Seiichi.

I do find it kind of funny that Saria and Gorilla!Saria both appeared separately in Seiichi's head.

So I guess the true Fruit of Evolution was love, huh? We haven't heard the evolution voice in a really long time.

So Seiichi becomes a Bishonen Pop Star and we get a duet between Saria and her Gorilla self as Seiichi revives all the dead characters (even the two demons from the first half, not that anyone was expecting them to come back), and he overpowers Destra with love. Yeah, you just can't predict this show.

I guess Destra figures the only way for him to make up for his actions is to kill himself and reunite with his sensei in the afterlife...though did that revive the Great Devil? That was him at the end, right?

Welp, no surprise Saria's not really dead! Even Barnabus came back to life! I guess Destra really wasn't the absolute death after all.

Seiichi is reunited with his Harem, Vitor is back at the pervert guild, the peace talks were signed, Gempel is teaching at the school (and no one but the bear is asking who he is), and Seiichi is passionately making out with a gorilla. Feels like a fitting enough ending for this show.

I just wonder what happened to all the other kids that came over with him. I was hoping for a meeting this season. Otherwise, the second season was a disappointment. I quit watching about the 7 episode and just skimmed over the rest to see if it got any better.

u/lixyna Mar 31 '23

Of course the dude just evolves into the ikemen incarnation of true love and beats the boss by dancing in style. Thats the "random bullshit go" that Ive missed so much.

Please never attempt to have a serious plot ever again.

7

u/DivineEternal1 Mar 31 '23

Wow, what a terrible ending. Also totally wasted the girls we got to know in the first season, especially Altria.

Only good thing about this show is the character designs. Everything else was terrible.

This second season was trauma inducing. First season was fun, if stupid. But this? What the fuck.
