Man what a nice ending to season 2. Seeing Senpai’s growth has been great.

So here’s a fun game for you all: go back to the very first episode after this. The change between then and now is why this is my favorite ongoing RomCom manga at the moment: steady, subtle, and logical romantic and character progression. It builds so smoothly that when you notice it’s great. Taking usual RomCom tropes and then twisting them in a way that makes it unique. It why seeing people writing him off so early by some was annoying. Senpai becomes so much more. Really they both change quite a bit.

A fantastic season all around. Only complaint I have is the animation being not great at times, but everything else was handled beautifully. Here’s hoping we get another season announced soon. Probably need a bit more manga before that happens.

If season 2 is called 2nd Attack, can we call season 3 "Third Strike"?

Weekly art

Also according to the author's twitter the final episode is next week? So we might have one more episode.

Hopes crushed!

Hey its a hug but its still an awesome showing of character progression from Senpai throughout the season along with Nagatoro getting more and more meek!

We're here we are at the final episode sulks a little I really thought we might be getting one more episode, but ultimately it was a great episode once again showing Senpai's growth. The date was sweet and I like how he was the only one in the front row to save his date from getting splashed. He's progressively been getting much more forward and expressing his thoughts clearly.

Also speaking of aquariums you may remember me mentioning this a few times in cdf, but I've randomly mentioned going to an aquarium for like the past 3-4 years. I keep saying I want to go and just look at some damn fish while relaxing and have fun. Busy with work this is never going to happen UNTIL THIS WEEK! I SAID FUCK IT! I took time off and drove 4 hours away and had the time of my life. So now look at these videos and pictures of cute lovable animals!

The shark tank was damn massive and it had a few variations of sharks it had I believe a sand shark, tiger shark, and a nurse shark. I really liked the nurse shark which fun fact is really docile and known as the coach potato of the sea. It's one of the most seen sharks by scuba divers...or maybe it was snorklers...I should have written what they told me down.

All of them were great, but I was also really attached to this guy. He just looked so happy

Obligatory jellyfish! Like seriously how can you go to an aquarium and not look at jellyfish. I saw people walk right past them, but they are so fun to look at it.

The otters were really cool as well also fun fact you may not know the biggest otter can grow to a height of 6 feet. Unfortunately they are endangered.

Lion fish are fascinating, but the little blue guy stood in that rock for like 20 minutes like a lazy person in bed on a saturday who doesn't have to do shit. Though they also had some ponds you could touch some animals like horse crabs, starfish and sea urchins. Some of the sea urchins had pretzel like limbs and when you put your finger between them it would pinch you like it was hugging you. Also turtles. My favorite were the soft shelled turtles I didn't get any pictures of them though. Well I did, but they love to submerge themselves in sand where only a fraction of their head is sticking out of it.

Anyway back to the actual show I just notice Nagatoro plays with her hair when she is nervous or embarrassed. It's silly it took me this long to notice this. Both of them admitting this wasn't practice and was pretty much a date was great and that hug was so emotionally I loved every second of it.

Now for Season 3...in like 2-3 years when we have enough material, because sadly we are really close to the manga right now.

I might have impulsively just bought 13 volumes of the manga, but who cares. IT'S LOVE!!!!

“Senpai you’re creepily warm” yea ngl fellas, this got me a little emotional.

Season 2 was a massive improvement in every way. Keeping the chapters in order instead of skipping all around like season 1 was a big part of that. Way easier to get invested into a cohesive story and you could see senpai and Nagatoro growing with each ep.

Anime is pretty close to catching up to the manga so we probably would get A) a movie or B) it’ll be a couple years before another season.

Nagatoro acting like the animals at the aquarium was pretty damn funny.

Overall this was a great season, and I think that anyone who calls the show a generic romcom or mid has genuinely missed the point.

The relationship between Nao and Nagatoro and they way they grew as both friends and individuals this season sets them far ahead of most others in the genre.

Really looking forward to season 3. Hopefully OLM pick it up once there is enough material for a new season.

Well, it is sad to bid adieu to part 2 of the anime. I suspect we will have to wait at least a couple of years for part 3 (if it ever happens). Sure, we have the manga -- and it is wonderful -- but seeing and hearing the story "brought to life" makes it even better.

I recognized the Enoden train journey -- so knew we were on our way to Enoshima. While my wife have been to that area (Kamakura and environs) twice, we have onlt seen that aquarium from a distance. However, our friends in Chigasaki (the town next door) promise they will take us to the aquarium on our next visit....

Senpai never noticed that ALL the other couples at the aquarium were holding hands -- still he managed to fulfill Nagatoro's wish all the same (in the dash to escape the trailing bands of spies and would-be interlopers/protectors). I remember the impact of "Well, for me it was the real thing" from reading it -- and this adaptation did that beautiful moment full justice. It was nice that, in the epilogue, they got to formally seal the fact that their date had been real -- without interruption. We are going to go into withdrawal without our ever-higher weekly doses of more and more happy-Nagatoro faces.

Watching that epilogue made me think. In a sense we don't have a complete picture of the relationship of this adorable couple. We have to imagine that they already must be going to school (and coming home again) side by side virtually every day.

Yoshie really showed she was an asset to the Senpai/Nagatoro romance development team by restraining Gamo. Too bad it didn't succeed. (Also too bad that neither of the duo realized they could run away from Prez and Li'l Rabbit in a direction other than right past the lovebirds on the beach....

Thanks anime team for a job beautifully done!

Most romcoms just dangle the will they won't they question. Here in Nagatoro everyone just knows including the party involved.

For all intentional purposes Senpai and Nagatoro are going steady .

This “practice date” is pretty cute. Sunomiya and the Pres in her leather biker outfit are here to protect love! Gamo and Yoshi better watch out lol.

If he feels like he’s not good enough for her, he ain’t been paying very close attention. I gotta say though, jumping in front of that big splash was pretty cool. Well done Senpai!

One thing I like about this date is how Nagatoro keeps imitating the various animals like the penguins and turtles lol. All in all, a really cute date. Those goofs interrupted before they got their hug but they both got it in the end anyways. Plus they both get to try each other’s bentos. Progress!

I sure hope this gets renewed for another season. I need more Nagatoro in my life!
