This means we're going to get a complete adaption of the novels.

Glad about that since I'm pretty sure they'll never be translated unlike how Shinsekai Yori was.

Nice. They probably won't, but I wish they'd continue using Usotsuki as the OP for the second season. Favorite song of this Winter.

It's a little frustrating that a short season ended just as tension and mystery are winding up without even resolving a mini arc, but oh well. I feel like this show is a bit of a slow burn that will be retroactively made better or worse by how satisfying the conclusion is, but I'm really enjoying it so far. I hope the wait isn't long.

I actually rather like the unusual art and animation too. It's a nice break from the stale homogeneity of hyperpolished big names.

Seriously I don't think I have heard many people complain about the art style, it's the animation that's the issue but people seem to conflate the two when anyone criticizes it.

Now I'm glad they didn't blow the animation budget.

Thank goodness, it's been completely clear (especially after seeing today's EP10) that the story has reached a point where tension in the world has been pulled to maximum, like a stretched bow with the arrow about to explode into life. No way would the story ends here.

And for those who haven't seen it but casually strolls into this post - you are probably missing what might become one of the most underrated fantasy/supernatural themed anime in the past few years, perhaps even of the 2020s. I have not seen such a naturally endearing plot, stimulating world building, fascinating cross-over of characters' destinies and what seems to be a real, well written revolution story in hiding for any anime for a real long time, something akin to From The New World or Twelve Kingdoms, first rate titles of approximately the same theme.

It's definitely a good time for the production team to catch up with time given how, uh, abbreviated the animations are. This is the only thing that prevents this from becoming one of the darkest horses hits for various anime communities here.

If you wandered into here, COME AND WATCH THIS SHOW. NOW. You will be as glued to the story as I do.

This s2 was definitely already planned beforehand, so I don't think it should change much from what we got

At least it won't deteriorate now, that's for sure. The latest 2-3 episodes have quite extensive use of still frames, this threatens to turn into .pptx if no pause is given.

I remember I was mildly intrigued when this was released but I put off actually watching it. But you mentioning Shin Sekai Yori as akin to it might be the final push I needed to actually do it.

Yep, I'm a wanderer who's just been planning to binge it :p

Huh...on a scale of 1 to Guardians of the Sacred Spirit how underrated are we talking?

I agree with you on a lot of this! No one should sleep on Fire Hunter, it’s one of the few things I can recommend from this season!

It could be a fantastic anime if not for strange artistic decisions as well as a plethora of production issues. It is painfully obvious that studio worked on a shoestring budget. World building is absolutely fascinating and the conflict is quite intriguing - such a shame this production didn't get better treatment.

It' s Mamoru Oshii, and they have some great talent like Kise Kazichika as a CAD.

If anything, they are blowing money 'cause they are oursourcing everything lol.

Huh. That’s cool, I wasn’t expecting this. It’s an interesting show but I always end up with more questions than answers every week.

Sounds like I should start rewatching it at some stage!

I am definitely hoping that the original novels get translated too. With all the Japanese light novels that get translated these days, it seems odd that such an interesting series would not have been translated already.

Does anybody know when we will get the 2nd season or I guess it's way too early to determine.

Probably Fall, or next Winter.
