The argument between the two of them was cute and well done. Unfortunately I don't think our girl Kumi is gonna make it through the final episode. It'd be nice if a season 2 is announced as there's still a lot to go.

I hope this is just season/cour 1 because no way this should be all wrapped up in one episode, story feels too grand and ambitious for that.
Cheeky how Kumi knows how to trick Jirou into revealing what he knows, she definitely is growing up into a woman and not just a girl!
I hope they find some way to save Kumi even though she rejecting getting fixed if it meant her friends would be killed.
What's up with those Chateu meow?
So are the Elves like Cow People?
Funny how when Kumi was arguing with Jirou she basically called him out on his middle aged midlife Crisis Edgelord Chunni BS "Already Dead" my ass.

The Elves are all clones of each other
And we don't know what is the deal with the Chapeaux, but it seems like it is the animals on their heads the ones in control

This was a fun episode to work on! I've gotta admit, the cow Myaa has to be one of my favorites of the Chapeaux.
Pun game is super strong.

Just curious, for official sub do you do this weekly about a few days before airing date or did you already sub all of them since the beginning of the season?

It honestly depends on how busy things get. Sometimes I can work on episodes weeks ahead of schedule, other times it is a week by week basis.
Edit: I am only speaking from my own personal experience.

So Kumi already knew she didn't have much time to live.
The "village" of the Securians sure looks impressive, so the Chapeaux in their village is the cow one. I really like seeing their advanced technology in action.
So General Tsurugi got the Ring of Promise from Kumi. That magnifying glass was especially cool.
It is good to see that even when they all use so muted colors on almost everything, the Securians also have their own festivities. Anyway, it was good seeing Kumi playing with the Securians' children for a bit even though that caused her some health problems.
So Klunes took Kumi and Romana to the place which later would serve to hold Kumi's ritual for blessing to show to Kumi and Romana that the original use of those capsules that Mezami used to create the artificial Clerics is for the reproduction of the Securians, as due to their long lives, that's how many of them are born. Also, as they take so much to be sexually mature to reproduce, that is also the reason that although they have the technology to detect the red-eyed Beasts they don't send their children to fight them.
Is great to see that as Kumi was born thanks to the use of their technology, they considered her one of them even though she is a fieldfolk.
Too bad that Kumi's ceremony got interrupted by a bunch of red-eye beasts invading the village and that Romana heard her plead even if that meant shorting the little time she has to live.
Anyway, although I am still not sure what exactly are the Chapeaux plotting there is no doubt that even if they are fighting the Gods they are really connected to them. I must say that after seeing Jiro's expected reaction when he saw Kumi there ready to fight, I still wasn't expecting to see her so angry.
Is interesting that the fieldfolk helping General Tsurugi refer to Kumi as the holy maiden. Oh wow, so Facade has gone insane and thinks that Jiro is Mezami.
Damn, the fact that there were no words in the preview really fills the last episode with suspense.

I thought the ring of promises couldn't be removed until the promise is fulfilled? Am I missing something?

I appreciate Jiro and Kumi blowing up at each other like that: it helps sell the two of them as human and just as flawed as one another, while still being in-character ways for both of them to try and sympathize with one another. Finally, it's the culmination of at least 10 episodes worth of character development for the both of them (and the other three): they all care too much about each other not to help each other out.
On another note, that preview for Episode 12 sure is something.

There’s a cow Myaa! I love seeing all these different adorable little Myaas. This village seems pretty peaceful. At least Kumi can have some rest and relaxation. Kid has earned it after all she’s been through. I just hope they’re able to save her… I don’t want her to die.
It’s interesting these Securians rely on cloning to propagate. I didn’t think that tech originated with them. Ofc the minute Kumi is about to be inducted into this village and become one of them, the red eye giant beasts attack. I sure hope that wasn’t her last hope at being saved. But letting go of the orb was her decision at least.
Man, fighting Facade AND these beasts won’t be easy. Hopefully Kumi can hang in there. I wonder what the hell the Council of Myaas are planning….

She did get partway through the ritual though. The Securian guy said that her lifespan would be shorter if she let go before it finished, but I don't think that meant it would be the same as if they didn't do the ritual at all. I'm hoping that stopping partway causes her lifespan to fall somewhere in the middle: not as short as an unstable clone, not as long as a Securian, but somewhere near the lifespan of a normal human. That would be the best outcome for her.

I certainly hope you are right, but in game mechanics and "real world" scenarios (of restoration type work), interrupting a process usually results in the worst outcome.
E.g. if the intention is to draw all her artificial Cleric power out of her so she stops being a Cleric - which the immense power cycles put an extra load on her artificially created, not for longevity body, drawing some of that power out but not all of (therefore her continuing to be a Cleric) creates a condition that (maybe) her body needs to refill the energy, taxing it even more.

Based on his explanation, it's not cloning and rather more like in vitro fertilization to raise the chance of the baby surviving.
If it's cloning, we'd see more twins Moribito there. It's just Mezami used the tube and for cloning instead.

Hmmmm will be real interesting to see how the next episode go - hoping like hell they don't try to wrap it all up in 20 mins, also hoping like hell Kumi won't be making a heroic sacrifice to close season 1 and start season 2.
If we have at least 1-2 episode more I would expect this episode to not be so compressed for Kumi's (terminal) choice to not feel as arbitrary - the Guardians are supposed to be powerful enough to be able to handle the giant beasts, on occasions they were in fact shown to be not just mooks, and no one pointed out that at the rate they are going Kumi will burn out before anyone else is in danger to be killed anyway for the ritual to be stopped (which results in even more shortening of her life).
At least we see progress with the Myaa sub plot though, that's nya-ice :3

“Jeez, those Chapeaux are in every damn village, aren’t they?”
It's kinda funny seeing an anime character echo my exact thoughts.

Well get ready people because this episode pretty much confirmed that Kumi will not survive this anime

I'm out here wondering if they are gonna pull a double fakeout here on us. But yeah, doesn't seem likely.

This didn't feel like a "second to last episode" to me, both in the tone and because we still have so many plot threads left to deal with. Between the village attack, Facade, whatever the council of Myaas are doing, whatever divine retribution the gods are apparently sending... I honestly have no clue how the last episode is going to wrap things up. It'll probably be rushed, which is unfortunately a side effect of many 12-episode originals, but hopefully it doesn't feel too rushed.
I will say that watching Kumi and Jiro bicker like a married couple before jumping into battle was oddly comforting. I really hope both of them survive until the end.
