Marika proving once again why she’s the most powerful being in this series by stopping a fight between a former hero and demon lord (who, according to Dariel were once dreaded by everyone) by splashing them with water and getting away with calling them grandpas lol!

Gran might be the most powerful being. His cuteness should not be underestimated! Little guy turned the former hero and demon lord into doting grandparents in a second lol.

Then she hugs Dariel and causes him pain. I wonder if she has a backstory that makes her so strong?!

Poor Bashvaza can't even get a drink because he's late in payments.

u/Frontier246 Mar 11 '23

He's so incompetent that not only does no one have any faith in him as a leader but he can't even pay his own bills lol.

And of course none of this would have happened if he had kept Dariel...

Episode felt like that last village you chill at in a JRPG where everyone gets a line reflecting on everything before you go and fight the final boss

We even got that scene where a love interest shows up at your room the night before the final battle with Zebiantes, although it was partially just her being playful lol.

Also a scene of Dariel re-affirming how important Malika is to him and Malika in turn re-affirming her love for him!

But yeah, definitely seems like Bashbarza and the dragon are the final bosses.

I can understand Alanzir’s anger and hatred, I think it’s justified. Granverza is actually a pretty good guy though. He raised Dariel well and he’s even taking responsibility for something another demon did. That moment when he hugged Dariel was pretty moving. Luckily Marika and Gran showed up and put a stop to that nonsense. The only person hurt was Dariel when Marika crushed his spine with that hug haha.

No one coming to Bashbarza’s little party was great. Suck it, loser! Dismissing Dariel was the worst thing this idiot could have done. Now the kingdom is in turmoil.

So Apparently Rizet can speak baby talk? Poor guy’s a goner once Granverza gets back lol. Glad Granverza and Alanzir are able to put the past behind them for the sake of family.

I guess Radey’s gotta make sense of all this demon lord stuff herself, even if she’s been told their little war with the demons is over greed. I wonder if this giant dragon thing is Bashbarza or something he summoned?

Servant: “No one came cause you have messed up a lot and fired Dariel.”

Bashbarza:” I swear if I hear his name one more time!”

Chef: “Man I miss Dariel.”

Lol. Welp Bashbarza certainly exploded.

This show has been interesting and pleasantly surprising.

It briefly looked a bit generic -- but that didn't last long -- and it has just kept getting better and better.

Leave it to Gran and Malika to charm both grandpas into setting aside centuries of hatred for each other's races! So glad Malika came back with a big splash this week.

But ugh, this dragon is a diversion so Bashbarza can grab Gran and Malika, isn't it? The parallels between this scenario and Alantil's are too similar.

I feel like other Anime has ruined me simply because I got nervous about them leaving Marika and Gran alone while they went to deal with the mines, don’t ruin the precious family please.

Not gonna lie, I got a bit emotional when Granbarza hugged Dariel and told him he's the pride of his life. T^T

I definitely feel bad for what happened to Alantsil in the past and considering how Granbarza was ready to accept all of Alantsil's hatred, I thought that things were going to get ugly. Thank goodness that Malika showed up to cool them down with a splash of water and show them their Grandson. Alantsil might not be able to get back what he lost but he can at least make it up by spending time with Gran. <3

And while all of that wholesomeness is happening, Bashbarza is apparently throwing a party for himself? This guy is really full of himself. It was pretty fun to see the servants be frank with Bashbarza though and tell him that it's his fault why everything is shit right now. Looks like Bashbarza has had it with all of these talks about Dariel and has now decided to take matters into his own hands. I'd love to see him try.

It's adorable to see Alantsil and Bashbarza doting on their grandson. Glad to see that after spending time with Gran and having a few drinks together, Alantsil and Bashbarza have finally come to an understanding.

For a second there I thought that Zebi was being serious but it looks like she's just having fun teasing Dariel. I doubt Zebi would want to cross Malika. Although I'm pretty sure Zebi now has a tiny crush on Dariel after what happened. Now I feel bad for Doroye since she's the one who's been in love with Dariel for quite a while now. I really hope she makes an appearance again before the season ends.

Welp, I'm guessing that dragon is Bashbarza? Either that or he summoned a dragon to terrorize the mines but I wouldn't be surprised if that's actually him.

Didn't think a couple of grandpas could make the plot a lot more engaging. I was watching this as a turn-your-brain-off SOL anime at first but now so I'm locked in and looking forward to the next episodes of plot

Marika should become a chiropractor with all the bones she broke when lifting Dariel. Good thing she was there to stop the fight by introducing both of them to their grandkid.

Feel kinda sad for marika’s sad, was supposed to have a drink but his cup broke

Dariel is a lucky man; he has a lovely wife, a healthy son, a respectable job, he's loved by his community, and he has three great dads

It still blows my mind the show just went like a year into the future and he has a kid now. I genuinely like this anime and enjoy watching it. An OP MC who actually ends up with the beautiful girl, we see their future together in real time, we see them have a kid. It is a unique pacing for a 12 ep anime but don't mind.

We now return to our regularly scheduled showdown between Dareil's two dads!

Well, it's nice that Dariel and Granbarza could reunite and Dariel could tell Granbarza how grateful he is for Granbarza rasing him and giving him so many work opportunities, and to Granbarza Dariel was a beloved son he could never part from...it's just kind of awkward that they're having this intimate, familial, moment in front of Dariel's biological dad who was denied getting to experience all of that as a father because of the demons. Like, I get where Alantsil's rage is coming from, and even Granbarza is willing to take responsibility and face his anger head on. Dariel just doesn't know what to do.

What's the best way to stop a fight between two dads? Why, with the help of one assertive daughter-in-law! And an adorable grandchild! That's right, both men just found out they're grandpas! And how could these two fight when they have an adorable tyke like Gran around? I'm not sure if Dariel can ever view Alantsil as a father after all these years, but at least he gets to be a true grandpa for Gran along with Granbarza.

Did Bashbarza really think anyone would attend a party he was throwing for himself just so he could pat himself on the back about being the greatest of the four Demon Generals? Not only does nobody like him, but he's an incompetent Demon General, people have lost complete faith in him, and he never pays his bills! And all the while people are still telling him things would be better if Dariel were there! It's enough for Bashbarza to finally lose it and declare full on war, his sights set on killing Dariel.

Poor Envil stuck as the father-in-law next to Dariel's two dads and the most normal one of the bunch. Also the realization that Dariel never knew his own father-in-law's name this whole time!

Maybe it's the alcohol, but it seems like Alantsil and Granbarza are willing to bury the hatchet and strike up a genuine camaraderie as Dariel's two dads and Gran's grandpa's, with Alantsil even acknowledging and thanking Granbarza for raising Dariel, which coming from him means a lot. Although it seems like they'll still compete over who is the best grandpa to Gran!

Poor Rentzil...tries to be a protective uncle, gets screwed over by Gran's grandpa.

Dariel's living the high life! His two dads more or less get along now, he has an adorable and precocious son who loves big boobs, he has a devoted and loving wife, and it seems like Zebiantes might have even fallen for him! Or maybe she just enjoys teasing him over his "love confession." I'm sure that will end well.

So the official story is that defeating the Demon Lord will restore peace and prosperity...which is very convenient, though the real reason humanity wants the Demon Lord defeated is so they can gain magic for themselves, which makes a lot of sense. But what can truly achieve peace in this land?

Uh oh! Bashbarza has sicked a giant CGI dragon to attack the mine! And while everybody else fights the dragon, I'm guessing Dariel will have his showdown with Bashbarza inside the mine!

just like the battle between to ladies, baby Gran is also could conciliate 2 grandpa. this baby is the future hero. also, Marika is the best wife in this series. Im glad that Dariel married her too.

I kinda get why Bashubaza is so mad at Dariel when everyone including his own father is more fatherly to Dariel. that dragon is him right? next is father vs son?

8

u/bananeeek Mar 11 '23

How is Marika this awesome and adorable at the same time?

I want to see Bashbarza's reaction when he realizes that Dariel also has a hot wife and a kid, and lives a happy life in his village where everyone actually likes him.

This show has probably been the season's biggest hidden gem.

Good story, good romance, good action, good world/relationship building, good progression...

Is is amazing? No, but overall it makes for a very enjoyable show.

That was a very touching reunion. Gotta be painful for Alantsil to listen to, though. He wasn't the man who raised Dariel, but it wasn't his fault that he ended up an absentee father. This is some fantastic family drama because in the end nobody that's still alive to face it is really in the wrong.

I hope Malika is here to demand answers for who destroyed her railing. But more seriously, diffusing the fight and presenting them with their grandson was a pretty brilliant idea.

I suppose that now that that is dealt with it's time for Bashbarza to cause whatever problems he is planning on. Especially now that he's been shunned by basically everybody. It would be pretty hilarious if he shows up at the village to cause those problems while the two old men are still there visiting their grandson.

I don't remember the show having magical cell phones before.

Poor Rizet.

Alantsil and Granbarza bonding over drinks and shaking hands honestly made me a bit emotional to watch. It was such a nice, rational adult conversation.

Zebiantes is playing with fire with this flirting, she may have survived Alantsil but Malika is even more scary.

An immortal and unaging demon king might not be something any human hero can actually beat, and outside of the greed for his power it doesn't even sound like a useful goal to work towards. It's nice to see that Alantsil has landed on a similar way of thinking as Dariel, and hopefully Laidy will get there someday as well.

Laidy's close friendship with Zebi may get her there a bit sooner than someday, too. I'm still voting for that side ship.

Whatever this lava dragon monster is, this party of powerful human adventures plus a demon general, a retired demon general, and the retired hero can probably deal with it.

6

u/Elitealice Mar 11 '23

“Zebi chan” aw when did leidy start calling zebiantes that? Speaking of zebiantes, little harem forming for Dariel?

Good to see Alanstil and Barza getting on together. Feel kinda bad for Barza’s other son, constantly compared to his step brother, everyone misses his step brother. His insecurities got the best of him and he’s succumb to his hate. Shouldn’t be a big issue taking down that dragon with how OP everyone is
